(This story will also be put on royalroad where it will have an alternate ending) Witch bio: In the cold and dark night an old woman slept in a hut. The woman wore a green robe and had a very pointy hat on. The Woman was no mere woman at all, but a witch! It was clear as day (Or moonlight. Whatever.) Unbeknownst to the witch, a group of angry trolls were heading towards her hut.The troll in the front punched the stone door down with a single punch! The Witch instantly got up and rubbed her eyes. “We demand payment!” The troll shouted right into the witch’s ear obnoxiously. “I don't have your money I'll get it tommorow. now let me sleep!”

“No!” The troll leader shouted raising hit greatsword above the witch, “Give us the money or die!” The witch let out a long sigh before finally answering. “Well I'm not gonna give you your money The witch said as her eyes glowed a bright blue, “But I sure as hell am not gonna die today” the troll grunted and slammed the sword down. To the troll’s surprise, the witch quickly dodged and jumped The witch snapped her fingers and suddenly the sword flew from the troll leader’s hand and decapitated the troll behind him, killing him instantly.

The troll gasped and threw a punch right at her. The witch quickly dodged the fist, before sprinting out of the hut. The trolls chased her. After a while, the witch came to a clearing of grass and stopped immediately when she came across a pillar marked “D” in the middle of the ground. The trolls quickly surrounded the witch and drew their weapons. “It's overwith!” The troll spat, “You're outnumbered” “Yes..but you’re clearly outmatched” the witch said smiling a hideous smile. The witch raised her hand and snapped her fingers and almost instantly, a giant, skeletal dragon rose out of the ground and began brutally slaughtering the trolls

. One of the trolls tried to escape but the dragon quickly crushed him in its powerful jaws, splattering blood everywhere. Only the troll leader remained. The troll let out a sad and depressing cry before falling to his knees “why do you have to kill all my men! Why do you have to kill me!?” The troll cried, tears streaming down his cheek. “Nothing personal.” The witch said as she floated towards the troll and gently laid her hand under his chin, “I'm just cheap” She said before releasing a massive fireball from her hand. The flesh on the troll’s head had been melted completely, leaving nothing but a charred skull. The witch giggled before suddenly using necromancy to make the troll her slave. The witch yawned. She was getting sleepy. And used a spell, And her, the troll, and the dragon instantly passed out.

Changeling bio: A mother walked with her son across a trail. Suddenly a priest jumped in front of the woman. “Lady you're the child is a changeling!” The priest screamed. The boy looked at the priest with hate-filled eyes and suddenly the priest doubled over and clutched his chest. The suddenly a trickle of blood fell, from his mouth and he fell to the floor. His heart exploded! The woman gasped and fell back.

The boy looked at his mother with lustful eyes and grabbed her by the throat, before softly saying “Don't worry mother I won't hurt you You see that priest was right I am a changeling I have no idea what happened to your real son but I know he is safe.” The woman looked at the changeling with a look of disbelief. Unbeknownst to her, a priest was sneaking behind her, and when he got close enough he stabbed her right in the back. The woman let out a shriek of agony before falling to the ground, dead. The changeling couldn't believe what happened. This person he had known for years, dead.

The changeling snapped and bit into the arm of the priest. “Get off of me you hell beast!. The priest grunted before ripping the sword out and trying to stab the changeling. The demonic child instantly let's go and bit the sword with his sharp teeth, shattering it to pieces. The priest let out a cry and staggered back. The priest turned around and ran for his life. “Demon!” He screamed as he came across a big black church. The priest looked behind him and saw the changeling rushing towards him at immense speeds.

the priest opened the door, closed it, and bolted it tightly. Even with all that the changeling was still breaking down the huge door. All of the priests inside the church turned to the priest, weapons in hand. “Is there really a demon Mr Crowley?” One of the priests said armed with an n iron bolt crossbow. Mr Crowley nodded. “That is true father Jeffard. The demon will break through the door at any minute!” Suddenly, the doors blew open, like it was hit by a giant tornado. The priest Immediately turned to the door and saw...nothing. There was no changeling. Just an open door leading to the outside.”Didn't know we could turn invisible did you human” a voice said that seemed to be coming from up above. The priest raised their weapons to the ceiling and looked up intently.

Suddenly, the changeling turned visible and leaped from the ceiling screaming like a madman. The priest attacked the changeling with fury and might but every single hit missed. The changeling was savagely killing priest left and right. It was cracking people's heads open like coconuts and stabbing people with their own limbs it was insane. Father Crowley and Jeffard had had enough and they ran up the stairs to see if they could come up with a plan.

The beast followed, making the stairs give way as it crawled up to its prey. Jeffard tackled the changeling, dropping his crossbow next to Crowley. Jeffard punched the changeling in the face over and over until they hit the ground, causing the chandelier with lit candles to fall. Father Jeffard grabbed one of the candles and shoved it into the changeling’s eye. The changeling responded by ripping his throats out and devouring him. By this point, the flames reached the wooden chairs and curtains causing the fire to spread even more. The changeling climbed up the wall and attacked father Crowley.

The floor gave way, sending both beings falling right into the fire. The changeling screamed and flailed around, writhing in pain and agony. Father Crowley quickly ran into the part of the church that wasn't burning and began shooting at the changeling with iron arrows. Even though it was writhing in pain from the fire it still managed to dodge every single one. Getting frustrated, Crowley picked up a burning two by four and began brutally hitting it over the head with it.

Suddenly, the changeling grabbed the two by four, broke it in half, and stuck the burning part inside Crowley’s throat the changeling howled with laughter before pinning Crowley to the wall with the other side of the two by four. The changeling then hummed a little tune as it jumped out of the burning church and walked down the street. Let this be a lesson that very few can deal with the changeling

Powers: clairvoyant, lucky, flight, telekinesis, can speak to animals, turn invisible, and super strength.

Weakness iron, if you pour salt on the ground he will be forced to count every single grain, viscous liquids, fire and all forms of plasma.

The battle will take place in the forest. Also, the bios are cannon now, as in they are both happening simultaneously

Pre battle: The changeling looked at his dead and bleeding caretaker with eyes of Solomm sorrow. Then he heard it. A very very faint heartbeat, the woman was on the absolute cusp of death. “I need a healer” the changeling said to himself. “Well since no one here will want to help me I could use that witch to help. With that in mind, the changeling with woman in hand flew all the way over to the hut where the witch lived.

The hut was mostly empty except for a dead troll with its head cut off. The changeling sighed, then he noticed a trail of footprints and began following them. Eventually he found quite an odd sight. An old witch slept on a skeletal dragon right next to what appeared to be a troll with a charred skull. “Can you heal my..mother?!” The changeling gasped, startling the witch. “Oh yes I can. The witch said. The witch gently placed her hand upon the woman and golden beams of light flowed from her hand and into the woman’s body. After a while the woman shot up, cured. “Now that she is cured she should be a good servant.” The witch cackled. “No!” The changeling growled. “Over my dead body!” “Oh sweet changeling, I wouldn't have it any other way” the witch said softly before waking up her dragon and preparing for a fight.

Let’s let the battle begin!!!

The dragon charged at the woman. The changeling ran in front of her and pushed her away. The dragon chomped on the changeling with its rows upon rows of spiky teeth to the dragon’s suprise the changeling lifted the mouth up and rose, making it so that the Dragon couldn't bite. The changeling quickly jumped backwards out of the dragon’s mouth. The changeling fell on the ground with a thud. Suddenly the undead troll rushed over to the changeling, axe in hand.the changeling dodged all of the blows. By this point the changeling was getting cocky, and he decided to not even use his clairvoyance to dodge. The troll landed a lucky hit and struck the changeling right across the back, sending him back. The changeling roared in pain and turned invisible. “Where is he?!” The witch growled angrily.

Unbeknowst to her the changeling was sprinting towards her at blinding speeds. Suddenly she sensed his aura and turned around but it was too late and he kicked her in the face, a bloody tooth came out of her mouth and she rubbed her jaw. Now that the witch knew exactly where he was, she threw a fireball at him. The changeling roared in pain as flames covered his body, making him very visible to the the other monsters. The troll tackled the changeling to the ground, burning itself.

The changeling needed a plan, quickly. The changeling, using his super strength, lifted the troll up and threw him at the dragon! The troll fell right into the dragon's mouth and with no other way to get it out the dragon had no choice but to crush the troll into a fine paste, blood splattered everywhere! Some even got on the Witch’s robe. “You stained my robe!” The witch cried furiously, the changeling still on fire, released its wings and flew off into the sky. The witch let out a chuckle and pointed at the changeling. Almost instantly, hundreds upon hundreds of tiny. rocks shot out of ground and struck the changeling right in the face. The changeling screamed and flailed around before crashing into a lake with a loud splashing noise. The witch cackled maniacally and raised her hand.

Almost insantly a broomstick flew right into the witch’s hand, magically losing all its motion. The witch hopped onto the broom and flew towards the pond. After a while, she spotted him from across the lake staring dead at her. The witch made a choking motion at the changeling and suddenly, what can only be described as a rock hand rose out above him an grabbed him. The witch flew over to the changeling and gave a hellish smile. To her shock, the changeling smiled back. Then she felt a strange itching sensation on her knee she looked down and saw a huge tarantula! She cringed and kicked it away, “wait a minute” she said, “tarantulas aren't usually near lakes” she looked up at the changeling who was grinning a mile wide. “Your right they don’t but I control them so….your gonna die” the changeling rasped. The witch let out a cry as without reason hundreds upon hundreds of spiders rushed over the witch and covered her in webbing.

The witch struggled but it wasn't enough. The spiders trapped He in a huge spiral of webbing. All the tarantulas morphed together and turned into a giant 15 foot tall tarantula. The tarantula leisuley crawled down towards the witch and bit her right in the arm, cracking her bone and spilling blood. The witch sucked her teeth in pain and glared at the changeling. The changeling grunted and broke through the stone hand with his super strength.the witch’s eyes. Glowed a bright orange the spider was just about to bite her on the head when suddenly, the witch surounded herself in flames. The giant spider shrieked before being horribly burned alive. The webbing caught flames and in less than it takes the human eye to blink the entire spiral caught on fire, forming a giant flame tornado.

The changeling gasped and took a step back. The witch hovered over the tornado and grinned. The changeling growled. He had to find a way to kill, this lady, but how. The witch made a raising motion at him and suddenly a burst of wind shot out of the ground and sent him right into the lake. She was toying with him at this point. Then he saw them. Water striders. Tiny insect that can walk on water. Using his powers, the changeling persuaded the striders to run towards the tornado, the striders generate enough speed and form a huge wave. The Witch gasped as the water envelops her and she falls down. The witch got up, gasping for air and just barely standing up. The witch grabbed her broom and bum-rushed into the changeling at amazing speeds!

The broom hit the changeling so hard it impaled him sending blood everywhere! The witch grinned and very lightly touched the broom. What could only be described as liquid fire burst from her fingertips and seemed to magically seep into the broom. The witch let out a cackled as she noticed that up ahead was a huge cave. After giving the changeling a playful goodbye wave she backflipped off the broom and landed perfectly on her feet. The changeling’s defining scream was silenced as the broom exploded with the force of a supersonic missile. Bright flames exploded out of the cave as the witch let out a hearty laugh. Then the realization hit and she realized that the broom exploded and she had no means of transportation. The witch let out an angry sigh and walked back up the hill to her dragon.

The winner is the witch

Evidence: the witch had way more abilities than the Changeling and could also enchant objects and control the elements. So that's all in all for me to say. I'll see you next time...on Monster Wars.

Cool short story! I thought the witch and the changeling were both awesome. Magic and gore are two themes I just can't resist! I like how you included a sort of character stat for the two characters (listing strengths and weaknesses), though I feel it would have stood out even more if you wrote it in bold-type or italics. It's cool that you even provided a little evidence note at the end in case anyone doubts the winner. Reminds me of the people who do death matches between different fandoms' characters on YouTube.

Nice! :)

Hey Boluk!

Shady here with a review for you this fine Review Day, courtesy of the Red Team. My style tends to be to make comments as I notice things when I'm reading (both positive and negative!) and then give a general summary at the end. Let's get started...

It was clear as day (Or moonlight. Whatever.)

So, it's almost never a great idea to include parenthetical statements in prose. They can be a helpful way to pass along non-essential but clarifying information especially in emails and such, but in stories they're just fairly distracting, and frankly, come across as a bit lazy. I'd advise against being overly informal (such as the "whatever") in your writing, as it just makes it come across as if you don't care overly much as a writer. Obviously I'm not saying that you don't -- but that's kind of how it comes across to your readers.

Okay, so, lots I have to say about this paragraph. First of all, this is good content -- interesting little skirmish. But you could portray it much better with a few simple changes.

First of all, this is the mother of all paragraphs. It's really hard on the eyes to just see a massive block of text, and it's frankly a bit intimidating to get started on. Paragraphs are meant as natural breaks in thoughts that gives your readers' minds digestible chunks. Having blocks of text this large is just hard to read and aren't generally necessary.

Now, as far as paragraphing goes...

An easy rule of thumb is to try to limit paragraphs to a single character -- ESPECIALLY when dialogue is involved. It helps readers keep straight who is doing what and who is speaking. Generally an acceptable way to do this is:

"Have dialogue," the character says.

"Have dialogue." Then the character has an action. "More dialogue from the same character."

The character has an action. "Dialogue goes here."

Does that kinda make sense? So don't have two speakers in the same paragraph. Split it up. And I also personally don't like having multiple pieces of speech broken up by actions in the same paragraph. So, like in your example, I'd personally split it up:

“No!” The troll leader shouted raising hit greatsword above the witch. “Give us the money or die!”

The witch let out a long sigh before finally answering. “Well I'm not gonna give you your money."

The witch said as her eyes glowed a bright blue, (I'd personally change this to:) The witch's eyes glowed bright blue. “But I sure as hell am not gonna die today.”

The troll grunted and slammed the sword down...

You see what I'm getting at here? Break it up so that it's easier to follow.

Powers: telekinesis, pyrokinesis, aerokinesis, metakinesis, chlorokinesis, and hydrokinesis. Clairvoyance.

Weaknesses: has human density and can be killed by what kills a human.

I'm a bit confused as to what this means. Is this for like a character bio for something? Because at first it appears to be a story, but having a listing of the powers and weaknesses definitely isn't typical prose-ish behavior. Maybe make it a bit clearer as to what this is supposed to be for?

if you pour salt on the ground he will be forced to count every single grain

Haha, that's kinda hysterical. Is it just salt or any sort of thing with small granules? Like, will he have to count a bag of rice? It's a funny twist. Well done.

The changeling looked at his dead and bleeding caretaker with eyes of Solomm sorrow.

I think you mean "solemn" not "Solomm" here...

~ ~ ~

Okay! Wow, so you had a lot packed in here. I think you have an absolutely awesome concept and a story packed full of a ton of potential.

Overall, I'd recommend slowing it down a bit. I kind of think of suspense and fighting as like hold-your-breath sort of drama -- and you basically had us not breathing this entire time ;) I think it'd be an improvement if you slowed down a bit and focused on character development and actually making us care about your characters a bit more.

But your concepts are super interesting and unique! I love how creative you got with your characters and all of the action was definitely exciting. Cool idea!

If you have any questions feel free to let me know!

Keep writing!

Sophie here to review your piece!

I quite enjoyed reading this! at first I was a bit confused but after a while, I understand how amazing and interest it was. the descriptions were good but I want more.
~
the village- where there people around when this happened? where they away from everyone? where people yelling? I want to knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
~
the fight zone- was it a clearing? did trees get knocked down? I must know.
~
the bios were really good and had good and funny little motives behind them. I loved that. the actual fight was really well written with the blood and the fire. I really loved how it turned out and I love the evidence supporting the witch. the changeling just seemed to be down from the start! at points it seemed like he might win but the odds were kind of stacked behind the witch.
~
overall- this is really good and I loved reading it! it was a funnt take on writing and I enjoyed it. keep it up and write on!
