Okay, reading this book first reminds me of the wonderful reads of Jeremy Clarkson, Charlie Brooker and, on the odd occasion, Jack Dee. I took to the wonderfully wrote book because of this. Wanting to be a columnist, in a humour way, it seemed the only sensible option. Anyway, in the book the humour is unmistakably British, ignorantly waving about a metaphorical national flag throughout and suggesting that everything good was, all-in-all, British. Seems a bit naive right? Well, yes it does, but to be honest little does it matter.

You see the true brilliance of this book is Al Murray's views on general day-to-day situations, of course he tries to make it sound British and perfect, but it's also really funny. Not to mention, he does like to take the mick out of people like Shakespeare too, so you can't exactly call him an extreme patriotic.

In fact I'd go quite the opposite. His act is obviously protraying everything sarcastically as brilliantly British where really the subtle comedy is coming from how dreadful every single one of his arguments are. Yet at the end of the day, this makes them fabulous.

Not only all this but I picked it up in the Works for 1.99, blimmin' brilliant, eh? I love it and I'd recommend anyone to read it. Even if you're not British.

It's a cracker.
