Olympian Juliet
Hi my name is Juliet Maykayla Frange. Most people don't know this, but do you think gods are real? No not the "GOD" God, but gods and goddesses. Like Greek gods? Zeus, Aphrodite, Athena? I hope you do because if you don't then shut the freaking book and walk away. I must warn you though, If you continue to read this book it will change your whole entire useless life.
I used to be just like you. A normal little girl with a dad and a mom. My mom was a Kore'an missionary and my father was a professor from Yale. I always thought it was weird that my mom looked so different to me, and so did my dad. They swore up and down that they were my birth parents. I never believed them. Well my little family lived in Greece, in a big city/town called Athens. I know a lot about Greek Mythology so I knew about Athens so called origin. It is said to be that Athena, goddess of wisdom, wanted the city to be hers and on the other side Poseidon, god of the sea, wanted it too. So Zeus told them that they had to compete in a compition to make a gift, and who ever made the better gift got Athens. Poseidon made a spring, or maybe it was a horse. However; Athena made the olive tree. Of course Athena won. My dad always told me stories of Greek relations, like Zeus lovers, Poseidon’s rampage on the sea, and a few about Jason and the Argonauts. Plus many more. I would just sit there and listen in aw. They seemed so perfect, you know the gods and goddess. My favorite god was Hades. I never knew why. I guess just because he was an outcast. He never had a throne on Olympus, he had to steal his wife. He never had anything except for the underworld. He was kind of like me. I never had the looks, or the brains. I was just plain ole' Juliet. If your wondering who my favorite goddess was, I don't really know. I probably would say Artemis. Artemis was the goddess of youth and maidens. She swore to never marry and to wonder about the earth with her hunters. She was a free spirt and didn't fall over any guy. I could never stand Aphrodite. How could someone choose love over anything that has a meaning? I guess I was just jealous because she was extremely beautiful and every guy fell in love with her. I had never had a boyfriend or any guy friend. I only had one friend my whole life. I sound so pathetic right? I was.
Every morning I was up as the night went away. So I always had a lot of time on my hands. I would get up, brush my teeth, get clothes on, and watch TV. School just sucked. I was always picked on about my parents.
One day a stupid football dude knocked my books out of my hand and said this, “Watch it loser."
I was tired of being pushed around so I said, “I’ll watch it when your not ugly. Get some Bo-tox and maybe a new face."
He looked at me and walked off. I had did the greatest thing I'd ever done.
I walked into science class and took my seat. "Juliet! Hey What-Cha-Doing?" My friend Cellsea said.
"Hey C-C, Oh nothing much."
"Guess what. I saw what you said to that jerk. That was Wickedly funny." She said.
"Ha really? I just kind of lost it. “I told her.
"Are you kidding me? I've been your friend since pre-k and I've never seen you stand up for yourself."
"Thanks’ C-C that’s, um great. “I said as our teacher walked into the class.
Mr. Davis was a brown colored man that was so bald that he could reflect the sunlight. He looked like a little chocolate midget man. He was my 8th grade science teacher.
"We are going to decapitate and insert the hydrogen into the amphibians. “He said.
I raised my hand.
"Yes Juliet Maykayla?“ Mr. Davis said.
I heard some guys snickering over by the window. I just ignored them.
"Um can you say that again please, I didn't catch it. "I asked him.
"We are going to decapitate and insert the hydrogen into the amphibians. "He said again.
"Okay now can you say it in English please?"
He gave me a glare and said, "were going to split the frogs open and pour stuff into them."
I looked at the poor little frog that was laying there. Poor little frog!
I gave it another quick glance and looked back at my paper. About when I was writing the organ names for the frog, I felt a paper ball hit my head. When I opened it I saw that it was a drawing. The drawing was a person with the name Smith in front of it and he was beating up another drawing of someone named Juliet. Wait my name was Juliet. And Smith was sitting across the room staring at me. Didn't he know it was bad luck to hit a girl.
The day went on and it was nothing special. I was scared about that note though. I was going to come home with maybe a few bruises and cuts from some bully. My dad would ask about them and I tell him, blah blah. It's always been that way. When school was over I was walking home and then I heard the most disturbing noise ever. A pole scraping a fence. I took off running, but they caught up. You see I'm not a strong person so I got the crap beat out of me.
While the so called Smith guy was punching the crap out of me I felt the wind blow. No it wasn't like a small little wind. It was a Major gush of it. Smith flew backwards and was dead still. I got up to run while I had the chance. The other guy who was after me slung me on the ground and tried to hit me. All of the sudden a huge hole opened up from the ground and sucked him in. All of the other guys took off running. I was terrified so I did the best thing I could think of. I ran too. I ran all the way home and straight up to my room. The next thing I know I was in the woods up in the highest tree. I didn't know what was happening, and I didn't know who I was anymore.
"I'm Juliet Makayla Frange!” I yelled at the top of my lungs.
Birds flew and deer ran, other than that it was extremely quiet.
I bowed my head and started to cry. I am a very emotional person. When anything dies I cry. I don't know why.
I heard a branch snap and down I went. I fell out of the mother loving tree! As I was falling I was screaming "Ahhhhhhhh! God help me! Ahhhhh!!!"
Apparently it was all I could think of.
I was almost to the ground when I was caught by something. Personally I thought a bird caught me or something. No but it was a boy.
"GOTCHA! “The boy yelled. He wasn't the handsomest boy, but he was cute in a cute way. Get what I'm saying?
I felt like I was about to hurl! He sat me on the ground and I did the only thing that would come to mind after you fall about thirty stories out of a tree. I hurled my guts out. Nice Juliet, real nice. The first time I actually meet a boy my first words were 'BLAHHHHHHH-"...So lovely.
"Are you okay?” The boy asked.
I was too busy puking to say anything.
After I was finished throwing up I said, “no! I just fell thirty stories from a freaking tree. What do you think?"
I got up slowly while holding on to a small tree. The tree turned black and faded.
"What is wrong with me!” I cried out. The boy walked beside me and told me to follow him.
I did and about when we was at the middle of the Forrest he said, “You have to come with me."
"Why do I got to go with you? Leave me alone or you'll end up like that tree buddy boy!"
"Whoa don't let your emotions go whack Juliet! You'll kill both of us.” He said.
I turned and walked back toward the path home.
"THEIR NOT YOU PARENTS!” He yelled out. I immediately turned and walked back to him.
"What? Who are you?” I asked him.
"I said their not your parents and I don't know who I am."
"Don't play games. Who are you? I've been beat up today, fell out of a tree, Picked on and threw up, so you better give me some answers.” I yelled at me.
"Okay. I’m Zyphron, I’m a child of Aphrodite.” He said. Of course I didn't believe him so I just walked away.
"Your thinking I'm crazy. And that I'm handsome.” He yelled again. I was embarrassed.
"What? No, what would give you that idea?” I said.
He yelled some mumbo-jumbo and I was up in the air on a pink cloud.
"Let me down!” I screamed.
All of the sudden he flew up and a piece of duck tape went over my mouth.
"I had to do this Juliet. I have pacific orders to get you.” He said,” Now listen. You know about the Greek gods and goddess? Right?"
I shook my head.
"Okay they do exists Juliet. Otherwise how could I make you float or me float? Or how could the ground open up with your call? Or that gush of wind? Or that Tree-"He said,” The Olympian gods and goddess had affairs and sometimes kids. You know that. You know more than a normal person would know about Greek Mythology. You can speak it. You can read it. You are always jumpy and figity. I think your a child of an Olympian."
I ripped the tape of my mouth and said,” That can't be real because I have my parents at home. I can't speak Mythology."
"Mycarea S `morale" He said.
"No I don't want a dragon." I said.
"You see? You just translated it Juliet! Your a child of an Olympian! The greatest race of beings in the infinity! Thats why you got to come with me. Come with me to Olympus." He said.
"OLYMPUS! Okay crazy dude. I think I got to go now."
He jumped off his cloud and a horse appeared. "Please. There is only a few of us. We need you. We can figure out what to do when we get there. They can sort us out. We can train."
"Um I hate to pass up an offer like this, but NO! Your a crazy child that has probably escaped the LUNNEY BIN!!"I said.
"Okay, if I'm so crazy then how can you explain the cloud and horse?" He said in a daring voice.
"Maybe your a magician, or. Or I'm just seeing things." I said.
"OR,OR? Are you a seal? And I am a child of Aphrodite. Your a child of-..well I don't know who's child you are. Your the strongest rating I've seen all year. Your power sonar is gone berserk with the abnormal activity! Come with me. Please. Come to Olympus. And Claim your parentage."
I hesitated for a minute and thought back on every mean person who has ever picked on me. "Okay...Can I ever come back?"
"Maybe. If you get lucky. And maybe if you don't die."
"DIE? That wasn't in the little 'Welcome to Olympus' Packet."
"Oh nothing. You won‘t die, I hope." He said as he grabbed my arm and we flew off.
The air was nice and warm. I noticed that it was getting very dark and wondered if my parents were looking for me right now.
Chapter 2
*Isiah*
It was about sunrise when we go to a small cottage in the mountains. I asked Zyphron a few times where we were and he always said 'were almost there'. That annoyed the crap out of me.
"We're here Juliet." Zyphron said.
"Where exactly is here?"
"Isiah" He said.
"Isiah?"
"Yeah. It was a- um secret place where the greeks met during the battle of troy."
"Is is safe?" As I said that the ground split open and we flew in. I was amazed and scared at the same time. I saw small kids, large kids, tall kids, short kids. And all of them we're showing off their power. The pretty kids that Zyphron told me were Aphrodite's children , were making boys chase them. Zyphron was the only boy in the camp that was of Aphrodite's blood.
We landed on a dock that was surrounded by water and a green thing willed us in. I noticed that it was a water nymph. As we walked into this huge palace I saw many kids fighting. Were there any adults to stop them?
"Now do you believe me?" Zyphron asked me.
I just nodded in aw.
A girl who looked about five years old walked up to me and smiled.
" Um hey little girl." I said.
"Little girl? Ha, it's always fun to hear that. But next time please do not judge a person by their looks." She said.
"Juliet, this is Hebe. A well respected goddess of Olympus." Zyphron said.
"Holy Crap! Your real? The daughter of Zeus and Hera? The cup barer?” I blurted out.
"Young child, I must inform you to not use names here. Names are powerful things you know." Hebe the goddess said.
"Tell me about it." I said.
"Well Zyphron I'll take it from here. Your service is very well respected." She said. Zyphron bowed to her and smiled at me. He seemed to look more handsome since the forest.
"Well young child, show I find you a room?"
"My name is Juliet, my lady." I said. From the stories my dad told me I knew not to disrespect a god or goddess unless you would like to be a tree or frog.
"Yes? Well Juliet you know who I am and I know who you are so lets find thou a room."
We walked for what seemed like hours. Every room matched a student. Aqua for the sea nymphs and water spirits, orange and yellow for Apollo's children, baby blue and white for Zeus's children, a bronze color for Hephaestus's children, midnight silver for Athena's children, blood red for Ares children and Royal violet and pink for Aphrodite's children and purple for Dionysus's kids. Not to mention Hermes's children, which was just brown and gold. I noticed that there wasn't a Demeter's children because she only had one daughter. Persephone.
It was a range of colors. And since I was a new Demi-god I had to stay in the non-decorated cabin. I didn't know what god or goddess were my parents so I sat at a table with five other kids who were undetermined.
I didn't have many things since I left in such a hurry except for a few bruises and the clothes I had on. Hebe brought up some close up for me and I didn't know how she did it. I was a very picky person, but these clothes were perfect for me.
"I believe everything is intacted?" She said as I tried the new clothes on.
"Yes mam', thank you so much Lady Hebe."
"Yes well you are going to Olympus two weeks from now for the Greekian Summonce. So I scrimmaged up a lovely dress for you.” She said.
"Dress? I'm sorry if I impose, but I have never felt comfortable in dresses."
"Really? Well you surely cant go before the gods dressed a normal.” She said.
"Yes, I figure. Lady Hebe, can I ask you something?"
"Yes my child, go ahead and speak."
"In all your life have you ever been scared of your powers?” I asked her. She got up from the chair and walked to the door. "Once." She said,” But us goddesses can show too much fear my dear. After all your fatal flaw can be your death."
She walked out of the room and I looked at the dress that suddenly popped up on my wardrobe cabinet. I was in a secret place with magical kids and a goddess. Whoa, now that stuff can open up your eyes. I constantly wandered about my mom and dad and where they looking for me. I missed them terribly.
Chapter 3
*A Demon Child Secret*
I was fast asleep when I turned over and fell out of the bed. It was a very rude awaking.
"Hey sleepy demon child." Zyphron said.
"Demon child? Speak for yourself."
"Well you did kill a tree. And the tree nymphs are not happy about that." He said.
I pushed him out of the way and went into the bathroom and got ready. "You never put on makeup or fix your hair?" He asked me.
"No I don't like makeup and what's the point of fixing my hair. I'm not trying to impress anyone."
"What about me?" Zyphron said, "Don't forget I know what your thinking."
"Yeah, well that's creepy ." I said.
Zyphron and I walked down to breakfast which was a huge table with about twenty kids at it.
We took our seats and Hebe said, "Now young demi-gods, let us pray and pour a partial of our meal into the fire."
All of the sudden a huge blaze went up in the middle of the table. Weirdly it was not burning anything. So cool.
"Put the biggest part of your hamburger into the fire." Zyphron told me. I looked at my food and saw that my hamburger was cut in half and the left side was bigger than the right. I poured the left side into the fire and said a prayer to the gods, "Please tell me who I belong to. Please."
All of us ate breakfast real quick. Have you already noticed that we had hamburgers for breakfast. Well not everyone did. The meal was anything you wanted. Like a wish meal, if you suggest.
Zyphron walked outside into the magic’s gym yard. He soon realized I wasn't following him. I was too busy down by the lake looking at the water nymphs make beautiful shapes and colors with the water.
"This is my favorite thing to watch." Someone said from behind me. At first I thought it was Zyphron, but as I turned around to answer back It wasn't. It was a boy about maybe fifteen. He has bright blue eye and a brownish-black hair.
"Your?" He said.
"I'm Juliet."
"Yeah, well I'm Lake. Nice Hi-Tops."
I didn't realized he was commenting on my shoes. I just turned my head back to watch the Nymph's water show.
"Hey?" He said as he put his hand on my shoulder.
"I wouldn't touch me if I was you." I said.
"Are you threaten me?"
"Oh gods no. It's just I have a bad habit about killing things without a reason. Zyph says it my emotions."
"I know how you feel. I have kind of got used to frying fish on accident or a person for that matter." He said
"And who is your god?" I asked him.
"Oh you mean dad? Well Zeus, of course."
"Go figure." I scuffed out.
"What's wrong with him?"
"I just don't think he's a good ruler for the Olympians. To me, he is conceited and kind of rude."
"If your so great then who's your god?" He asked.
"I don't know. All I know is if I wanted to kill you are make you go into a coma I could do it." I said.
"I don't believe you. A coma? Dead? Ha! Don't make me laugh." Lake said.
"Watch." I saw a Nymph strolling by and asked her," Can I have a fish please? I mean no disrespect."
She looked sad as she gave me one.
"Okay watch." I said. I grabbed the fish and held in my palm. The fish flapped and wiggled. "Okay, ready?" I said as the fish touched the ground.
All I did was look at the fish and picture it dead. All of the sudden the fish stopped flapping.
"How did you do that?" He asked.
"I don't know."
"I got to show someone!” He yelled.
"NO! This is a secret. If you tell you'll end up like that fish!"
"Your going to threaten a child of Zeus? Clearly you have no idea what I can do.
"And clearly you don't know what I can do. Your just like your father you know. Always think's he's so great." I said.
"You might want to watch who you insult Juliet." Lake said.
"Sorry but it's the truth." The thunder roared and lightning hit a tree that was about a yard from me.
I just walked back up to my room.
Dinner came fast and I was never happier! I was famished! Well we poured half our food into the fire like we did that morning and then we ate. I had mashed potatoes and gravy with grilled chicken. It was DELIOUS!
As I was walking back up to my room after dinner I ran into an Ares kid. This girl was big, ugly, and mean.
"WATCH IT TWIRP!" She yelled.
I stuck my hand out and said, "Hi I'm Juliet."
She just snorted and walked away. How rude?
Zyphron told me that Ares kids were rude and mean kids. Like your average day bullies.
That night I kept having these signs, like of people's death and then peoples souls floating in water. It was extremely weird.
As I was dreaming of that I awoke from the sound of a foot step. I have always been a very light sleeper. I looked and saw nothing. All of the sudden I get the erge to look around. I walked outside into the hallway and down the stairs. I was going to go into the kitchen I saw Lady Hebe talking in a cloud. A cloud?
As I listened I heard her say, "Yes, Yes, but she is growing stronger by the day. She knows of her powers but she doesn't know how to use them completely. She is extremely dangerous. I saw her use them down by the pond--"
What was she talking about? My powers? All I can do is kill trees and make holes appear out of nowhere.
I ran all the way into the main room and up the stairs. I was heading to my room when I saw Zyphron standing at my door.
"Long night?" He asked.
"You wouldn't believe it if I told you." I said as I grabbed him by his shirt and dragged him into my room.
"Now listen. Lady Hebe spoke of my powers in a cloud and said I'm dangerous. What do you know of this?"
"Know of what? I'm just a student here." He replied.
"Your one of her trusties, so you do know. Don't make me hurt you." I said.
"Okay. Well she's been studying you. She thinks your a child of one of the more powerful gods. Or maybe your parents are both immortals. You might even be a daughter of a Titan for all we know." He said.
I sat on my bed and thought about it. A child of one of the bigger gods?
"Okay?" I said.
"Your power is above rank."
"Well that’s interesting." I said.
Zyphron looked at me with big eye's and covered his mouth.
"What?" I said.
"Loo-lo-look at your hair!" He gasped out.
I walked to the other side of the room to look in the mirror and saw my light brown hair turn into pitch black hair. My eye's were turning a blue-greenish color.
I gasped thinking I was still dreaming. But I wasn't.
"I prefer you with that kind of hair." Zyphron said.
"My-my hair is bla-black?"
"Yeah. That's strange. Did you do it with your power?" He asked.
"Heck no!" I yelled. I heard someone knock on the door so I told Zyphron to turn invisible, and he did. My door opened and it was :Lady Hebe.
"My child are thou okay?" She said, "Your hair is black, and your eyes are-"
"Lady Hebe, I have no idea what is happening.” I said.
She walked over and looked at my hair. "I cannot do anything my dear. It is there to stay." She said as she walked out of the room.
Zyphron busted out of invisibility gasping.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked him.
"I...can't.....stay....invisible....for....long.......ahhhhh!"He sighed. "Bye, see you tomorrow."
CHAPTER 4
*I am freaking Houdini*
A week has passed and we still have a week until the Greek thingy-O-bob. I was walking to the archery range with the Apollo kids when I met Pheobe. She had golden blond hair with brown eye's and she was taller than me.
We talked about powers and gods. It turns out she has a unique power. She can heal people and she can do anything with fire.
Pheobe and I were walking to the lake when Zyph caught up to us.
"Last one to the lake is a rotten god!" He yelled.
As I passed Pheobe and Zyph I saw lake sitting by a tree reading a book. He stopped and looked up when he noticed I was looking at him.
He walked over to me and said, "So what are you doing here Ms. no-it-all?"
"To be honest, swimming. Why don't you come?"
"Ah lightning, electricity, not a good match. What did you do to your hair? It looks-"
"Retarded?" I said.
"No, better. I guess, for a killer like you."
I just walked away. He was just like Zeus. He was a conceited annoying jerk.
I ran into the water and played Marco-polo with Zyph and Pheobe.
It was getting dark so we sat up on the beach looking at the water.
"Zyphron, you know I've never seen your powers." Pheobe said.
"Really?" He said back. Zyph made little cupid firecrackers above our head and he read Pheobes’' thoughts.
"I've never seen yours either Juliet." She said to me.
"I'd rather not show mine." I said.
"Common Juliet, there isn't anything to be afraid of." Zyph said.
"I can make mostly anything happen." I said.
"What?" Said Zyph.
"Yeah, the other day I was shooting arrows at the target and I wanted the arrow to hit the bulls eye and It happened. Then the same thing happened when I wanted a new color for my shoes. It's strange."
Zyphron looked in aw at me.
"Show me." He said.
"Okay you see that rock right there?" I said to him. He shook his head. "Okay watch me."
I willed the rock to move to me inch by inch. It was painful but I had the strength.
"Oh my gods!" Pheobe said.
"Yeah. It's weird huh?" I said.
Zyph looked at me like I was freaking Jesus.
"We have to go to Olympus in less than six days. And you just now learned this new thing you have? It's amazing Juliet! You can bend anything if you just think about it. Did you try it on water or air?" He said.
"Yeah and It's doesn't work. It only works on non-living things." I said.
We walked back to our rooms and went to sleep. That night in my dreams I heard someone call me. It was like a faint voice in the dry air. I awoke with sweat pouring down my face. Lady Hebe walked in with fresh clothes and a towel.
"Good mourning Lady Hebe." I said to her.
"Mourning comes from the word 'Mourn' didn't you know?"
"Oh no mam' I didn't."
She smiled and walked out of the room. We had only five more days until the Greekian Summonce. Yippee-de-do!
Nothing unusual happened in though four days so how about we just skip ahead.
"Wake up! You have to pack!" Yelled Pheobe. I was sound asleep until then. I woke up grumpy and mad!
"What!" I yelled back.
"The Greekian Summonce is tomorrow so we got to pack. we're leaving tonight." She said.
I got up and packed up all my clothes and pt on a pair of blue jeans and a T-shirt.
Pheobe ran outside while I got something to eat. I ate a bagel with jelly on it. Let me tell you something, it was yummy in my tummy. As I was fixing my bagel I saw lake walk beside me and shock me.
"Ouch! That hurt you know!" I said to him.
"So what?" He said as he sat down with his friends.
"Your getting on my last nerve lake."
"Oh so what you going to do? Turn me stone dead?"He sneered out.
I was concentrating on cutting off his air supply, but I figured that was too harsh. So I made his bagel turn black.
"What the crap was that? Ha? You don't have no real power. Your a fake." He said. As soon as he said that I wasn't going to hold back. I willed his air to stop in him to prevent him from breathing. Not breathing is being non-living I guess.
"No power? Hey lake can you breathe? Cat got your tongue?"
He was holding his through when I finally released him from the pain.
He just stared at me. There was lightning in his eyes.
I walked out side to find Zyph and Pheobe.
"Hey Juliet." Zyph said.
"Hey. Got your stuff ready?"
"Yeah I think." He said, "So how did you do it?"
"Do what?" I asked him.
"Cut off Lakes air supply."
"Oh, I don't know. I just willed it." I said.
"Oh. Don't ever do that to me."
"Well don't ever read my mind." I said.
"It's hard not to when all there is up there is a bubble with ideas in it."
I hit him and got on the silver bus. The silver bus was a flying contraption that carried us to Olympus.
Chapter 5
*Stare down of the Jeti*
The walls were lit with beautiful flowers and lights. It looked like A princesses palace. Olympus was the most beautiful place I've ever saw. "Not bad huh?" Zyph said.
"Not bad at all." I answered.
As we walked into the front gates we saw minor gods and goddesses and Muses, Centaurs, Stables, and many other things. The palace was made of pure gold and shone brightly under the moonlight.
As we walked into the throne room I grabbed Zyphron's hand and squeezed it.
"Nervous?" He asked me.
"Very."
We walked in two by two and took our seats quietly. Their were twelve seats and six gods and five goddess. I thought there was seven gods?
Zeus and Hera's throne was in the middle. On Hera's side was the goddesses, and on Zeus's side were the gods.
Zeus had black hair and stormy blue eyes. His throne was a pure white stone with lightning bolts in the storage on the side.
Hera's throne was a exact match to Zeus's except for her throne were covered with gold. She had brown hair and brown eyes. She seemed the most loving.
Artemis's throne was silver metal thrown with the crescent moon carved in it.
Apollo's throne looked as if it was on fire. He looked about sixteen with his I-pod in his ears.
Ares was a scary god. He had eyes of fire and hate and looked like a biker. His throne was a barbed wire throne. Being in the same room with him made me want to go punch a wall.
Poseidon’s throne was a limestone green with seashells in it. He had pitch black hair and green eyes. Kind of like me in a way. He was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and shorts.
Hermes’s throne was just a plain old stone seat with some of his inventions on it.
Dionysus had blond hair with a really bad tan and blue eyes. His throne was a wooden throne with grape vines strung on it.
Athena looked radiant. She had dark brown hair and grey eyes with a smile that you could live with forever. Her throne was a grey stone with an owl on it.
Aphrodite's throne was shaped like a heart and was a pure white and a silver color.
She was beyond beautiful. I had to admit it. Her glow was bright and extremely radiant.
"Lovely isn't she?" I heard Zyph say.
"Yeah, that's your mom Zyph?"
"Yep. Keep calm." He said. I could see in his eyes that he wanted to impress her so badly.
It was about thirty minutes into the Greekian Summonce and everyone was quiet. A few times I saw some of the gods look at me. It can get extremely weird when a bunch of twenty-feet-tall gods stare at you. Extremely weird.
"Where is he?" Demeter said. Her throne was a in-carved tree trunk with beautiful flower blooms on it. She herself was lovely.
Zeus grunted and turned his head back to me.
All of the sudden a man with a black cloak on and a helmet in his hand walked in. It wasn't until he sat upon the throne and expanded into a twenty foot giant that I noticed who he was. Hades.
He was a gruesome god. Like no other. He was hair as black as coal and greenish-blue eyes. In a way like mine. His skin was pale and white as snow. And in his cloak it looked like it was made out of souls themselves.
"Brother, you always have to choose to be late." Zeus said with a stern voice. Zeus really ticked me off. He thought he was so better than the other gods and goddesses.
"Yes, I was how you could say,..eh stuck in traffic.” Hades replied.
Pheobe and I silently giggled.
I guess Hades heard me because as soon as I stopped giggling he turned his head and looked straight at me. I stopped breathing for a second there. His face was stern and poor at the same time.
"I must let you know that Hebe has done a marvelous deed for us.” Hera said.
She smiled at the group that was sitting in a roll by the wall. (which was us).
"Eh? Yes, well...marvelous...yes.” Zeus said to her he was too busy looking at me.
I was officially scared. anyone of these gods and goddesses could kill me at anytime and can you imagine twelve of them? Whoa, major drama.
"I believe my son Zyphron has done a great deed to." Aphrodite appointed.
"Yes? How?" Apollo said.
"He had recruited nine new heroes in the past two months. I am honored."
I saw a smile crash upon Zyph's face. The whole entire meeting was extremely boring. The gods and goddesses kept staring at me, and Zyph kept trying to keep me awake. I saw Hermes laugh carefully every time I dozed off.
The best part of the Greekian Summonce was the party at the end. There was classical music, Pop, Rap, Country, mostly anything you wanted.
I was talking to Pheobe when the god Apollo walked up.
"Hello father.” Pheobe said to him.
He smiled at her and said,” Hello Pheobeus, can I spare a moment with Juliet?"
"Of course father." She said as she ran off to Zyphron.
"I'm Pheobeus Apollo."
"Eh...I know.. um I-I..."
"It's not everyday you meet a god eh?” He said.
"Yes my lord."
He smiled and looked at his hand.
"Juliet Maykayla Frange. Such a pretty name. And you are turning fourteen on December 11. Wow, I'm impressed."
"Impressed sir?” I implied.
"Yes. You are such a young age to be a powerful-" Apollo was cut off by Zeus who walked right up behind him.
Apollo walked off as Zeus started to speak.
"My son tells me that your not quite fond of me?” Zeus said. I was expecting to be turned into a puddle off water.
"Excuse me sir, but I really believe your son is arrogant.” I hesitated to say.
"I am happy you are honest Juliet. Lying is one of the deadliest sins. I wish I would have never created it. It's a pity. Yes, I suppose you are right. My son is arrogant, like his father I guess you could say. After all how do you expect me to keep all of these crazed gods and goddesses in order."
I flashed a million dollar smile.
"Dear Juliet I wish you would pardon my manners and please tell me how such a young girl be as powerful as you?” He asked me.
I really didn't know the answer to that question.
"To be honest, I have no idea your greatness."
He laughed and said,” Of course, of course, how out of the sky for me to ask you that."
He turned and walked away.
Hera was studying me like a book while I walked to the chairs by the wall.
I was sitting beside Zyphron when a gloomy person with fiery eyes walked up.
"Move.” He said.
Zyphron got up and walked away as fast as he could.
"Yo.” The man said.
"Eh, Yo."
"Do you know who I am?"
"Not really.” I said.
He sneered and pulled out his knife. I realized he was Ares.
"You should. I could make you regret your life.” He snorted out. He was as rude as his kids.
"Bring it." I don't know why I said that, but I regretted saying it afterwards.
He sneered again and said,” Your alright kid. You and me got to go at it sometime eh?"
"Now that wouldn't be fair. Your the god of war and I'm a demi-god."
"From what I hear your pretty dang good.” He said.
"Don't believe everything you hear lord Ares. It can deceive you sometimes."
He laughed and put his knife away.
"Like I said, me and you could make a good team. We could cause wars, and gang up on the weak and-"
"Now Ares you have no business messing with this young maiden.” Aphrodite butted in.
"This girl has spunk, hunny." Ares said.
Aphrodite giggle and sat down beside me. Ares got up and left.
"You are a very pretty girl young Juliet. My son is very fond of you." She said. I was blushing like crazy. Zyphron, fond of me?
"Let me tell you something. This ring will come in handy one day. So where it as my gift to you." She handed me a silver ring with a beautiful gem that seemed to be the rainbow in it. Aphrodite walked off to flirt with Ares, I guess.
It was about time to leave and I was about to cry. Why you ask? Well out of all the Olympians I had spoke to most of them and not one of them claimed me. I felt out of place. I would of done better staying at home. What exactly was home anymore? I had made some friends; however I still felt out of place. Like I wasn’t happy. I wasn't happy at all.
CHAPTER 6
*Magic by the lake*
We were about to board the Sliver bus when Lady Hebe started talking to Zeus.
"It's okay Juliet." Pheobe said.
"None of them, huh?" I said.
"It takes time sweetie." Said Zyphron. I didn't know he was beside me.
"Yeah Zyph is right. It takes time." Pheobe's expression told me that she was disappointed too.
"Whatever." I climbed into the bus and took my seat. I had to sit with Lake, so that made my day completely bad. He didn't talk to me though. Thank the gods.
When we arrived back to the Isiah I went to the lake. Even though Lady Hebe said if we were out past curfew that we would be eating by the harpies.
I took my chances. If I could kill trees and fish I thought I could take some harpies. I was sitting down on the dock by the lake when something moved in the water. I thought maybe it was a water nymph or spirit. I walked to the end of the dock and put my feet into the water. Gods now I needed it.
I saw something move in the water again and noticed that it was a shark. Now a normal person would be terrified, but I was like "Hey little, sharky!"
I guess from the day I had nothing could phase me.
"You like water?" Someone said from behind a tree.
"Yeah, it's calming."
"I know what you mean.” The person said. It sounded like a guys voice.
"Aren't you afraid of the harpies?” I asked him.
"No, they can't phase me."
"Would you come out please?" I said to him.
"For you?"
"Yeah, for me.” I said. He stepped out from behind the tree and walked toward me.
"Hey.” He said as he sat down. His eyes were blood red and his skin was pale. Some how he was hot. Like cute.
"Well, red eyes? How do I get them?” I asked him.
"You do a lot of bad things."
"Oh so that's how you got them?” I said.
"Yeah, I’ve made some bad choices."
He looked at me and I could see the hate in his eyes. Hate for someone that had hurt him.
"What’s your parentage?” I asked him.
"Eh, Athena."
"Well that is that huh?” I said.
"Yeah. Your undetermined."
I lowered my head and sobbed.
"Yeah. Undetermined."
"It's okay. Don't show sadness Juliet.” He said. I started to wonder how he knew my name.
"I just can't wait no more. It's wrong to just leave your kid alone. To just abandon it."
He put his arm around me and said, “Yeah, Just wait until you get a task."
"A task?” I asked him.
"Nothing. I can help you though."
"Help me?"
"Yeah. You want to meet your parent?” He said to me.
"Yeah, more than ever."
"All you have to do is help me. You wash my back, and I wash yours. Get it."
"Um yeah I think.” I said.
"Make a deal with me then."
"Okay." As soon as I said that a Harpy showed up and attacked us. She has red hair, green eyes, and had razor sharp claws. She approached us with a running start, but Chris didn't move. His eyes were locked on mine. I knew from some stories that if you touched a harpy you became one. So I turned my head to the furious creature and stood up.
"Stop!" I yelled at it. It was still running toward us. I raised my hand and wished it would go away.
The harpy was about a foot from me when I touched her shoulder and a rush of energy flew from me. She fell straight to the ground and dissolved into a yellow dust. I killed her.
"Is she dead?" I asked Chris, who still hadn't moved.
"No, she's just temporarily gone. For now at least."
I looked at my hands and ran back to the Isiah.
I went to my room as fast as I could. The next thing I know I'm waking up in Pheobe's room.
"Juliet? Juliet?" Pheobe said.
"Yeah." I sat up and looked at the clock. It was ten o'clock in the morning.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" She said.
"Let me help you child." Lady Hebe said. She grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the bed gently.
I pulled away from her and said, "Get away!"
I ran outside and stood on the hill that overlooked the lake.
"I think it's time for you to see the oracle." Lady Hebe said.
I shook my head and said, "The oracle?"
"Yes, dear child, Delphi the oracle.
CHAPTER 7
*Leaving dirt roads*
I was in Lady Hebe's cabin when Zyphron walked in and hugged my neck.
"It's going to be a long and dangerous journey Juliet."
"I have no freaking choice Zyph!" I yelled.
"What is wrong with you? All of the sudden you've become an aggressive demi-god. That can't be healthy."
"People change." I said. I slung my backpack over my shoulder and gave a quick look at Zyphron.
"Watch over Pheobe." I told him.
I looked in the mirror as I walked out of the room. I looked different. My hair had gotten blacker, and my eyes had turned greener. I was walking out of the Isiah when I saw people starring at me. I heard them whisper "She's going to Delphi".
As I hiked through a forest I kept hearing voices. It was like they were calling my name. I was getting scared so I decided to use a trick Pheobe taught me. What you do is find a puddle and toss in a memory of who you want to see. I tossed in a memory of my dad. He was sitting by the fireplace with the phone in his lap. In his hand he had a picture of me. His face was pale and cold. He looked so lonely. I knew how he felt.
"DAD!" I yelled out. He turned his head and looked at the shimmering window in thin air. Weirdly he wasn't scared or freaked out. His face lit up with glee as he jump up from his chair and ran over to the image.
"JULIET! Juliet! I should of told you! Please come home!"
"I can't dad. I'm okay, and I am truly sorry."
"They told me that I wouldn't be able to handle you. That I couldn't, and one day you would leave me." He said.
"They? My real parent! Who is it? Please tell me!"
"Oh I can't my dear! It's been centuries since then! Oh god!"
"Dad! Daddy, I need your help." I said.
"Yes dear, what is it."
"You know my real parent?"
"I suppose, maybe I have an address here somewhere." He said.
"Find it and tell them I'm going to Delphi and then I'm gona find who I belong to."
"That is a bad idea." He said, "That's a immortal your telling me to send that message to. Their not known for their forgiveness."
"I don't care. All my life I've been abandoned, beat up, picked on, and now I'm at the point where maybe death can suit me well."
"Juliet....don't." He said.
"I'm sorry dad." I said as the window faded away. I hated seeing him sad, but I was tired. I set up my sleeping bag and build a fire. I was hungry, tired, and had a major headache.
"Not fun is it?" Chris said from behind me.
"Where do you always come from?"
"Ah places."
"I would like to go places." I said.
"You would? Well maybe we can go somewhere together sometime."
"Together?" I asked him.
"Yeah, together"
"I'd like that." I said. He smiled and looked at the fire.
"Your hair is darker."
"Yeah I know. It kind of has a mind of its own." said.
"Your going to Delphi right?"
"Yeah, for a few questions." Chris got up and handed me an address.
"If you ever need me, you know where to go." After he said that he disappeared into the darkness. There was something about Chris that just invited me into his life. It was like an aurora of his. A shiny object that just pulls you into a trance. The address that Chris gave me was a fake. Or at least I thought it was. I had been to that place before and it didn't exist. It was an old abandoned warehouse by the sea. No one lived there. Did they?
Later that night while I was sleeping I had a dream. In my dream I saw Chris standing in a huge room with twelve thrones in it. I realized it was Olympus. He was looking straight at the thrones.
"You turned our back on me, and now look at me. I'm better than ever. I will avenge myself and Angie. Your stupid mistake killed her. You left me alone with that on my record. I can't handle that! Not anymore. I will get you and take back what is mine." Chris said. A tall beautiful lady walked in and sat down at the throne that Chris was talking to.
"Eh...Christopher." The lady said.
"Athena."
"I'm your mother dear. Don't you wish to appoint me as mom?" She said to him. His fist were tightening up.
"I don't appoint whom I don't respect."
"Don't respect? After all these years you haven't for got yet?” She said.
"Let's just say I had a deal with the devil."
"Angielina was in the way ,my child. "Athena told him.
"That didn't mean you had to kill her Athena! She was your own daughter!"
"Hush, hush. Don't get upset. I don't like your attitude young man."
"You don't deserve that throne. “He said to her.
"I love you my dear, but you can't be mad forever. What makes you happy?"
"You and the other Olympians always thought us demi-gods were your little helpers. You just make them then destroy them."
"Everything must die at a point Christopher. It is life. You should know that." Chris walked up to her throne and whispered in her ear.
"Including you, mother. “He said. After that I woke up drenched in sweat.
So what, Chris had some problems with his mom. That's mostly it. That didn't make him a bad person.
What did I learn in my dream? Well maybe Chris had a sister that was killed, and maybe he was planning to hurt Athena. Oh gods.
I got up and packed everything up. After that I headed off to Delphi.
On my way up the mountain I heard a loud roar. I thought maybe it was my stomach, but I soon found out what it was. I approached a huge cave that was in the way beside the path. Outside the cave I saw a Mammoth giant or something! It had maybe one eye, and was as big the statue of liberty! The reason I said "Maybe one eye" was because I was too busy being scared to count its eyes.
I dropped my backpack and ran behind a huge rock. Just in time, because at the moment I took off running for cover, the giant hurled at gigantic bolder at me. I looked at it one more time and saw that it was a Cyclopes!
"Who walks beyond my home! No man? No man? Is it you! Is it! I will kill you and eat you! Come out!” The Cyclopes yelled. I remembered a story about Jason and the Argonauts. Jason and his companions accidentally stumbled into a Cyclopes cave and blinded the Cyclopes before the Cyclopes ate them. After Jason and his crew was on the boat Jason yelled "It was No man Who blinded you!"
The Cyclopes name was, eh, Polyphemus.
I remembered that I could move nonliving things so I tried to move the huge rock that I was behind. It lifted off the ground an inch. My brain crashed! It felt like I'd been beat with a sword upside the head. I couldn't bear the pain.
"AHHH! I can't do it!” I cried out. I took off running at the Cyclopes and charged it full on. If I could just touch it, I could maybe kill it. Or maybe I couldn't. I've never tried it on something that big before.
I did what I would usually did, ran. I changed my direction and ran straight up the side of the outside of the cave and got him from the back. I held on as tight as I could. He jumped and hit at me, but I kept on him. Finally he swung me off him and threw me against the cave wall. "Why didn't you die!” I yelled at him. I didn't know why he wasn't dead yet. I ran behind a pile of goat skin. The goat skin smelled like horse crap. I mean it was blood, meat, and skin in all! I think I seen a human head in there too.
I took out the ring that Aphrodite gave me because I knew I couldn't kill him by myself. I looked at the ring and twisted the gem around. It came open and a bright light spreaded out. The Cyclopes fell to the ground. He wasn't dead, he was asleep. My little voice inside my head repeated over and over: Kill him while you have the chance! Kill him!
And I repeated back: How the freak am I suppose to do that? It didn't work before!
'DO IT AGAIN! :my voice said.
So I walked up to the Cyclopes and put my hands on its shoulder. "Be dead..” I whispered. Polyphemus stopped breathing and let out an terrible cry. I cried too. Like I said, I very emotional.
I was on my way back to the path when I saw it. It was gold and big. When I walked up to it I saw that it was a golden dramachma. (a big gold coin)
"How will you fit?” I said. The breath I had saved in me was nearly gone. I felt like I'd been hit by a grey-hound bus. I picked up the coin and put it in my backpack. Then I walked on. Like nothing had happened. I was getting really good at killing monsters.
Later that night I stayed at a little hotel. I needed a shower so bad! I really wouldn't call it a hotel, because it was two rooms and a shower. It was abandoned, so that was a heads-up. My room had a twin bed that looked like it could fall any minute. I didn't care though. As long as I had a bed to sleep in I was fine.
I laid down and rested my head. My head was still crashed. It hurt, and I had a lot to think of. My dad knew all these years who I belong to, and he never told me. How could he forget a god or goddess? He didn't forget, he just didn't want to tell me. I wonder if my mom knew. I just wanted to know who my parent was. I deserved that at least. I don't get how anyone, god or goddess, can leave their child. An infant, neither less a minor god or goddess. The gods were cruel sometimes.
While I was thinking about all that, a knock came from my door. This was abandoned, no one could be here. I opened the door to find Chris chewing on a piece of bubble gum.
"Hey kiddo.” He said. I let him in and shut the door. I imagine I looked real stupid with my Isiah PJ's on and my hair dripping wet.
"That's a good look for you.” He said. I went to the mirror and touched my hair.
"Yeah, I don't think so." All of the sudden my hair dried, and there wasn't a speck of water on me.
"How do you do that Julie?"
"I don't know. It's my secret."
"Your really going to keep secrets from me?" He said sarcastically.
"No I won't, if tell me who Angie is." Chris's expression turned black and his eyes faded.
"Who's that?” He said.
"Chris, I saw you. I saw you talking to Athena, and I want to know."
"Oh, you saw that? How did you-"
"In a vision.” I said.
"Okay..I guess I can't hide things from you. Angie was my younger sister. And when I was ten I was at Isiah. So was she. We were sent on a task to kill the Minotaur, and when we got to Mount Etna we saw Athena talking to someone. She said that it was time to kill the Fates and control their own destiny. I told Angie to stay put as the person left. I walked from behind the rock we was hiding behind and told Athena that killing the fates was wrong and she couldn't do it. Angie followed me. She disobeyed my orders. Athena snapped a comment that it was none of our business and Angie said that it would be our business if she told the Fates. Athena in rage killed Angie. I've never forgave myself for Angie's death, and the thing that kills me the most is that Athena was her mother."
"Oh my gods. Chris-"I said.
"Do you know how old Angie was?” He asked me.
"No, how old?"
"Five.” He said.
"You can't be mad forever Chris. Athena was just scared."
"Scared Juliet? No she wasn't, goddesses don't fear anything. She did it knowingly."
"Chris, she's your mom.” I said.
"She was Angie's mom too!" He started to tear up. I hugged him and whispered "You can't hate forever, I learned that a long time ago."
"Juliet, I need to kill her."
I laid back and put my hands on my head.
"Kill her Chris? A goddess?"
"Yeah. She deserves to die. You can help me. With your powers we can be immortal. We can rule Olympus."
"Chris, I've killed a Cyclopes named Polyphemus today, I tried to move a major rock and nearly killed myself, and now your talking about killing a goddesses. That's all I need." Chris looked at me and turned his head toward the window.
"How do you like the ocean?” He asked me.
"So random."
"How do you like the ocean."
"It's okay I guess.” I said.
"Lets go then." Chris smiled at me.
"Go to the ocean? Chris we are miles away from the ocean. Has the salt water gone to your head?"
He grabbed my hand and we were at the ocean bank.
"How did you do that!"
"It's my little secret.” He said. I smiled and looked at the sea. It was calm tonight. The small waves blew off the rocks smoothly. It was beautiful.
"Your different than the others." He said. I noticed his eyes were a light red. Usually they were blood red.
"What?" I blurted out.
"Yeah you heard me. Your different than the others." I smiled and hugged him.
"Your not so bad either." I said as He hugged me back, “Chris, you know you've never told me how old you were."
He laughed and sighed. "I'm fifteen." I laughed and sat on the sand. Chris and I talked for a while and then it started to get cold.
"Can we go now? I'm getting cold.” I said to him.
"Yeah, let me stretch first." He started to do these crazy looking stretches. I just laughed.
He finished whatever he was doing and we were off. We appeared back into the room when he said,” Bye."
"Wait. Your always going, where do you disappear to?” I asked him.
"Like I said, places." He smiled at me then left. How did he always find me?
Chapter 8
*Chris's P.O.V*
"Juliet is powerful and yet she has no clue what she could do, what she could be." I said.
"You have been going to see her every night since she left Isiah. I would say you like her." Jeff said. Jeff was another demi-god who hated his parents. He was the only person who had a tragic story.
"I do not! She's just a girl, who happens to be very useful to us."
"Chris and Juliet sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g.. “Jeff said.
"Shut the hell up Jeff!"
Juliet, Julie, I can help you, I can save you from them. I can help! All you have to do is make a deal with me....
CHAPTER 8 (cont.)
*Back to Juliet*
I slept well last night. I had no dreams or anything. When I woke up I saw a lady in my room. She was just starring at me.
"Juliet. Good morning. “She said," I'm Athena."
"Ah! Wonderful, more drama…eh….I know your son."
"Yes, I suppose you do. He wants to kill me doesn‘t he."
"Um I'm not pointed fingers at anyone, but maybe that's your fault."
"My fault? “She said.
"Look, I'm not going to help you so no offense, but bye." I got up and grabbed my back pack.
"My son hates me for what I did. And I am still regretting that very sad day. I shouldn't have killed Angielina."
"Yeah, now your sorry. Chris's rage is terrible. You've messed him up. You see, us demi-gods always feel lonely because our godly parent that we have abandoned us, left us, and…never appreciates us. That’s just what kind of people you monsters are."
"Monsters?" Athena asked me.
"I am a demi-god. Right?" She shook her head, “And I haven't been claimed yet, so I probablly won't ever know my parentage. That really doesn't bother me because I don't have to try to impress anyone but myself."
"Young lady, you really don't want me as your enemy." She said.
"No I don't. But, lets look at it this way." I willed the bed to lift three feet of the ground. "I'm doing just fine, aren't I?"
Athena looked at the bed and looked at me. I walked psdt her and started walking down the dirt road.
"Your powers may be advanced, but you will fall if you choose to fight us."
"Who said anything about choosing?" I yelled back to her.
Athena was clueless about everything. She may have regretted killing her own daughter, but that wouldn't change Chris's mind.
I walked about four miles until I found The Delphi’s temple. Apollo's oracle was an old lady that looked like a mummy. She was just lying there.
"I've come all this way so tell me why I'm here.” I said to her. She still didn't move. I tried to move her, but she didn't budge. Nothing worked. It was getting sunset and I was furious.
"Oh my gods! This is madness!" I thought long and hard about how I could get her to speak. I was hungry so I pulled out some food that I took from the hotel vending machine. I cut it into two halves. The left side was bigger than the right. I tossed the half into the fire beside the Delphic and said,” I need some freaking advice."
After I said that a young teenage boy came down off a chariot and stood beside me.
"Took you long enough.” I said.
"You really need to work on your anger Juliet." The god said. The god was Apollo, “Aren’t you glad I'm cool?"
"Ha, cool. Yeah." I laughed out. Apollo's smiled was amazing. It was as bright as the sun. I stood up and walked up over to the chariot.
"So this is the sun chariot?" I asked him.
"Yeah, you know that this thing is terrible to drive. It gets terrible gas mileage."
"The sun god is worried about gas prices?" I said.
"Yeah, that's weird huh?"
"You bet."
"Okay you really got a lot of issues at Olympus. The whole Chris-Athena thing is all out of thy proportion . Whoa if I was you I would lay off." He said, "It's not your fight."
"My fight? I know, but Chris is going to get himself killed and then I'm going to be mad, and yeah....I've seen what happens when I get scared. So being mad might be deadly."
"Ha ha. I like your spirit Juliet. You roll with the flow. Your one brave girl, and your powers are evenly matched with the god level."
"Yeah, so I've been told. Okay so do you have my advice or what?" I asked him.
"Yeah, here you go." A green smoke came out of the Delphi's mouth and went into my ears. A voice spoke inside my head. The voice said:
Thou who be brave
shou parish or betray.
Loveone shou be gained
and loveone shou die
Lose the battle forever
win the war in
the end.
The green smoke left me and went back into the Delphi's mouth.
"Got it?" Apollo said.
"Yeah I think."
"Okay, here's my pager number." He said.
"Ha ha! The god of the sun is giving me his pager number. Now that is weird."
"Got to do what you got to do." He said. I laughed.
“I don‘t know weather to feel scared or happy."
"Yeah, thy should feel happy." He said. The sun got was hitting on me. Now that was something I wouldn't suggest.
"Not when your about three million years older. Lord Apollo your crazed."
"Maybe, don't tell Zeus though. Call me Apollo." Apollo got in his chariot and spun into the air. Then he was gone. I couldn't believe The God of the Sun gave me his digits. Oh my gods.
I walked out of the temple and back on to the dirt road.
I walked until I was on the outside of Athens. I stopped to look at my beautiful hometown. I fell asleep on the hill top and woke up in a dark room with no light.
"Hello!” I shouted out.
"Hello dear.” A lady said. Suddenly the lights came on and a flawless lady with blond hair and black eyes was starring at me.
"Hey. Where am I?"I asked her,” Who are you?"
"I'm Persephone."
"And I guess I'm in the underworld huh? Okay I'll admit that I did threaten Athena and stole some food out of a vending machine, but is it right to punish me to death for?" I asked her.
"Oh heavens no! Dear you do have a sense of humor!" She laughed out. I noticed a man sitting beside her on a throne. His face was black and cold. He was Hades. Persephone stood up and hugged me. I was officially weirded out.
"Your invading personal space my lady." I said. Hades let out a laughing sneer and said, " She's right, give her some air." Persephone backed up and just looked at me.
"Isn't she beautiful my lord?" She said. "Yes I suppose." Hades said.
"Wait I'm confused." I said.
"Prove to me that your my daughter." Hades said.
"Huh?"
"Juliet, you have to convince him." Persephone said.
All of the sudden fifty men came at me with spears and swords.
"Wait a gosh darn minute!" I said as I tied my shoe laces. One of the men stepped forward and slashed at my shirt and ripped it.
"Oh, now it's on!" I yelled at him. I looked at him and stabbed him with his own sword. One after the other I killed them all. I slashed, kicked, and even killed one with my shoelace. Now that takes skill!
"Hmmm. Maybe a lucky shot. Use your powers Juliet!" Hades said.
"Sir we found this boy outside your palace, he was sneaking about." A man dressed in an Army uniform said. The boy was Chris. I gasped and looked at him.
"Julie! Julie!" Chris yelled out.
"I'm going to make you suffer boy! Don't you know not to sneak about Lord Hade’s palace!" Hades said.
Chris looked terrified, but stood his ground. He was truly brave. Hades smirked at him and said, "No wait. Juliet, here's your last test. If you pass it I will claim you as my daughter, "He looked at Persephone, "Well our daughter."
Persephone smiled.
"Kill him, with your powers." Hades said.
I looked at Chris and back at Hades.
"Do it Julie. If it means you being happy. I know you want to belong more than ever." Chris said. He got on his knees and bowed his head.
I started to cry. I walked over to him and knelt down to him. "I can't"
"Do it!" He yelled.
"Yes Juliet , do it." Hades said. I put my hands on Chris's shoulders. I was about to do it when I remembered the night Chris and I went to the beach. It seemed like ages ago.
I stood up and looked at Hades.
"If you expect me to kill him then your just plain stupid."
"Hold your tongue before I cut it out! Your not my daughter, your weak!" Hades said. Persephone looked at Hades and said, "She loves him."
"Love? My children do not love!" The ground started to shake with his yells.
"Oh shut up!" I yelled at him. I fell to my knees as he approached. "Do you have a death wish?"
He locked his eyes on mine. I restrained his force with all my powers and stood back up.
"No, I have been waiting my whole life for this and it's not worth waiting for. You abandoned me and left me in the hands of a mortal!" The roof of the room started to shake and rocks fell.
"You expect me to be scared?" Hades said.
"In matter of fact yes. Haven't you ever heard the saying ‘you children are ten times as bad as you' Well look at me. Take a good look, because I'm gone."
I walked over to Chris who was looking at me in aw. I grabbed his hand and started to walk out the massive gold doors.
"Juliet." Hades called out.
"WHAT!"I yelled.
"Welcome home daughter." He said. Persephone ran up to me and hugged me. I had my parentage. Well I had two. Persephone was my REAL mother, and Hades was my dad.
I was a goddess.
CHAPTER 9
*Finals*
Persephone showed me a room and gave Chris a room too. We were pretty beat up so we decided to stay the night.
I was in my room looking at a beautiful black dress that was hanging up on my wardrobe.
"A goddess huh?" Chris said.
"Yes, bow before me!" I said. He laughed.
"Why did Persephone say you loved me?"
"Good question." I said.
Chris looked at me and blushed.
"Don't be so full of yourself Chris."
"Eh, I'm not. So what happened in the past days I was gone?" He asked.
"I went to Delphi, Apollo gave me his number and flirted with me, I killed a Cyclopes, Athena visited me."
"Athena visited you? What did she say?" He asked.
"She said that I didn't want to become her enemy and that she still regrets the day Angie died."
Chris's expression changed. It grew dark.
"Chris, please let it go." I told him. I put my hand on his shoulder and looked him. He jerked away and went to the window.
"I will kill her. Or be killed

Hmmm.... I agree with fortuna. You need to cut this up and look over it, 'cause there were quite a few spelling/grammar mistakes. And part of that is the voice you've chosen to use, but I think there are a bit too many to be intentional. Honestly, I only got through the first chapter - and while the concept is interesting, it's a bit too Percy Jackson, if you know what I mean - especially with your voice.
Speaking of voice - I personally found Juliet's tone somewhat annoying. Please don't take this personally. It's just - she's got a little too much attitude, and it's hard to feel sympathetic towards her. It's also hard to get a feel for her character - as she tends to act somewhat contradictory to what other people say about her, and flips back and forth between brashness and vulnerability.
Another thing that worried me about this piece was some of the description and continuity. It was hard to visualize the action, because there was so little narrative or description. Try to take it slowly. The first chapter could easily have been twice it's current length without being slow or bogged down.
And finally, the continuity. You say at first that she lives in Athens, Greece, but later, she's demanding the Teacher "Say it in English." Also, it's unclear what's happened when she arrives in the forest - did she reach her house first? What did it feel like to be transported?
Overall, I think you've got a solid concept here, but it's going to need some work to bring it to its full potential. It reads, right now, like a first draft, and could use more development. If you'd like more indepth critiques, I'd recommend posting it chapter by chapter - long segments can be very intimidating.

I personally suggest you cut this up into smaller chunks and post it, it's rather a lot to read for one sitting.
I feel like you need to pull the reader's attention more with the opening paragraph, I was going 'so?' throughout the beginning of this. To my understanding, you're trying to make Juliet appear to be aggressive to the reader. That's fine, but perhaps you don't want to start off the bat that way. You could begin the situation in medias res to pique the reader's attention, which I think is much more exciting than having Juliet just state her name and make a claim that the gods of Greek Mythology are real. Show her doing something, don't have her tell us about something.
Also, you might want to check for spelling errors, as I caught a few as I was skimming down, such as "their not your parents" (should be they're) and "pasific orders" (should be 'specific').
I suggest you thoroughly take a look over it yourself before resubmitting. It's an interesting concept and I do look forward to helping you improve it, but for now just take the time to go back and make a few corrections yourself.
Sincerely,
Fortuna
