Why can i smell sea salt?  Its fresh salty scent inhales and exhales through my nostrils, tiny microscopic

grains of sand lightly graze my sore body, sunlight decends onto my naked face causing me to squint a little

but then retain back to my previous position. My head spins a little when i finally lift myself up onto my elbows,

sand sticking to my fresh wounds which cause a pathetic wince. I expect to sit up and see my room, my little

brother, perhaps even my mutt of a dog, Bertie. But instead i realise i'm no longer at home, no longer living

in luxury, no longer in reality. Instead i am on the scorching hot island of Kizi, awaiting further instructions

through my earpiece which has surprisingly managed to stay in tact despite travelling through a terrible storm,if only it were my food which had survived... I know i should most probably be doing something productive right now, maybe building a fire or finding food, but instead I sit and admire just about the only thing i can right now, the image which stands infront of me. Emerald green waves ever so gently lapping around my feet, sand, the colour of gold surrounding my aching bones, and the sky, without a cloud in it stretching as far as my eyes can wander.

Its only minutes before i find my head resting back in the warm sand, eyes slowing starting to close, my breathing, incomplete unisen with the tentative waves. And that's when my nightmares start. I'm back in that same spot Toby and I would always be on a Saturday morning, entwined in each others company in the small bookshop his father used to own which was now all his, ours. We were sitting on the old plush armchair which was once his grandmothers, his head on my chest, my head on his. I was caressing his beautiful tight brown curls, he was carefully tracing the scar which ran up my left forearm. And that's when i saw it, a bright, unmistakable orange flicker out of the corner of my eye, soon enough that orange flicker turned into a blazing fire, spreading as wild as anything. We tried to flee out the shop as quickly as we could, but the smoke, it was engulfing us within a matter of seconds, the last thing i can remember is seeing Tobys eyes, as blue as todays sky, looking deep into mine. And that was the last time i saw my bestfriend

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night(whichever one it is in your part of the world),

Hi! I'm here to leave a quick review!!

Anyway let's get right to it,

Why can i smell sea salt? Its fresh salty scent inhales and exhales through my nostrils, tiny microscopic grains of sand lightly graze my sore body, sunlight decends onto my naked face causing me to squint a little but then retain back to my previous position. My head spins a little when i finally lift myself up onto my elbows, sand sticking to my fresh wounds which cause a pathetic wince. Okayy...so I've no idea why you've decided to break up what looks to be one decent sized paragraph that works well together as a paragraph into these small two line parts that are broken basically in the middle of a sentence. That's not something you should be doing, and I'm guessing this is maybe a glitch on the site's part or something, cause if its not, that's definitely not formatting you should be following. That aside, this is a nice little start. It very quickly paints this picture of what's going on, what the surroundings are like and what sort of point in life this person is currently stuck in along with a bit about said person's thoughts. It makes for a nice starting point to a piece here.

Ohh this is ending on quite the note there, we have ourselves what looks to be a devastating flashback of losing what appears to be a pretty close friend there judging based on the sort of emotions being dredged and the general actions happening in the memory itself. Well, we've got ourselves maybe some kind of almost apocalyptic sounding scenario too there, although its not quite clear on that aspect. At any rate, I think this forms what appears to be a pretty solid start for a story. Its certainly interesting enough to pull me in and make me want to read more here. :D

Aaaaand that's it for this one.

As always remember to take what you think was helpful and forget the rest.

Stay Safe
Harry

The grand in the hotel rings with broken tunes; the guests frown; the concierge winces. But the blue-hatted boy is happy and braver than they.
