Ode to A(utomatic) Door

Press your ear firmly against these waves,
and hear a miracle you fail to see on busy days.
This magnificent creation of man,
requires for opening neither hand!
'Tis automatic doors I speak of!
'Tis my Dearest Friend I speak of!
Thou art always polite as can be,
even when no one else does me see,
and give way, give way!
After a moment of quiet reflection,
gazing at your form that embodies perfection,
Through you I go, Through you I go!
Thus I leave behind this land of sorrow,
and enter a place where my heart no longer rings out hollow.

Thank you for the reviews! To clear up the question both have had so far, the first line can be understood in at least two waves (heh, aren't I the punster?). The first interpretation is simply that it means sound, which after all is made of sound waves. That is , its meaning is "listen closely to what I have to say". The other, more "poetic" notion would be that this is a message carried to the reader by actual sea waves.

Press your ear firmly against these waves,I don't understand this line
and hear a miracle you fail to see on busy days.
This magnificent creation of man,I love these lines.
requires for opening neither hand!
'Tis automatic doors I speak of!
'Tis my Dearest Friend I speak of!
Thou art always polite as can be,
even when no one else does me see,a little bit awkwardly phrased, but thats okay
and give way, give way!
After a moment of quiet reflection,
gazing at your form that embodies perfection,
Through you I go, Through you I go!
Thus I leave behind this land of sorrow,
and enter a place where my heart no longer rings out hollow.

I love how you are taking something so everyday and really focusing on how amazing it is. I like the personification you use as well. Keep it up!

I really liked this poem. It was fun to read and amusing. The humour is a nice touch. If you had tried to be serious then you would have crashed and burned.

Press your ear firmly against these waves, I don't get this line. Could you explain please?and hear a miracle you fail to see on busy days.
This magnificent creation of man, This line and the next are good!requires for opening neither hand!
'Tis automatic doors I speak of!
'Tis my Dearest Friend I speak of!
Thou art always polite as can be, The old english is also a nice touch. Adds to the mock seriousness of the poem.even when no one else does me see,
and give way, give way!
After a moment of quiet reflection, This line and the next are great! They really show the humour I was talking about.gazing at your form that embodies perfection,
Through you I go, Through you I go! The repetition is nice. Thus I leave behind this land of sorrow,
and enter a place where my heart no longer rings out hollow.

All in all a great, funny, clever poem. Keep writing.
