Puzzle pieces of corresponding shapes lie spread out on the kitchen table. Some dusty from being hidden for so long, some soggy from being slobbered on by the family dog. Others are lying on the table, unable to find the matching puzzle piece to complete them. A greedy hand takes one puzzle piece and yet another and tries to make them fit. Shoving the pieces together, the different parts colliding but not corresponding. Frustration builds, and the hand moves onto another pair, working endlessly but with no luck. The hand soon gives up and walks away, leaving the pieces alone, never to find their true match.

It's cute, yes...yes it is. But, I could do with a little bit more info in the story. This little blurb really isn't anything, it's not long enough or informational enough for it to be memorable.
I got a good message from it though. Probably not the one you wanted me too, but I at least got one.
This is quite cute but the anology isn't perfect because pieces tend to be connected to more than one other piece. It's well written though and it's sweet. Maybe elaborate more on the pieces the dog has chewed and how they're people who've had pretty bad lives and lost pieces etc. Basically extend it and I think you'll have a really good short story.
