The Spirit of Community

This poem is dedicated to the victims of the UK riots, those who are re-building their lives, and those who have lost loved ones.

There is beauty even in the midst of destruction

A beauty that transcends feelings of fear, anger, and confusion

And replaces them with feelings of hope, courage, and unity

A beauty that witnesses communities come together as one

Standing shoulder to shoulder

From all walks of life

All ages

And from a spectrum of many different races and religions

All working together for a single and solitary purpose

To show the very worst of society the example of the very best

To show that their homes may be broken and their lives forever scarred

But that the spirit of their communities can never be destroyed.

Dear Author

Reading this poem was quite refreshing and lovely to read, considering the unfortunate events in England.
You made me see the spirit of unity and compassion within those lines, in which only a good poet could express.
Keep creating that poetry of yours! :-)

From,

This was a lovely poem considering the sad events in England. Thank you for writing this because it just somes up my views on today's society. I love the pictures too, they add that special emotional element to your poem.

The only problem I have is the fact that your poem is one LONG sentence. Wouldn't you like to seperate it with a few full stops? That's just a suggestion but you can leave it how it is because you may have done it purposely. I don't know, maybe to show unity or something. But I think it would make more sense if there were a few pauses.

Nice work! Keep writing! :)

I love the first line! And it goes so well with that picture you added!

Anyhows... now on to the poem, the content is great and you forward your message about the hope that can be gathered from even the greatest of disasters. Your entire poem is built on hope, or that's what I feel when I read it - there are sad and awful scenarios hidden in the text but your words are filled with hope, strength and love! LOVELY!

The lines were a bit too long followed by ones way shorter to keep the flow going but it wasn't too bad. I wouldn't mind if you added a little more punctuation than only a dot in the end and a few commas in the middle.

No grammatic errors were detected by me so... that only leaves this; YOU GET... 4/5 spiders!

Good Luck & Keep Writing
