Still can't think of anything to write, so I thought I would write about the art of writing itself. Some people say it isn't even an art... but just something we do to keep our sanity. Whatever your opinion on the 'pen being mightier than the sword' I think we can all agree that we write for a reason.
As I previously asked in a forum about: Why do you write? It poses a wider question concerning: where we get our ideas from. Without ideas it would be impossible to write because there would be nothing to say! I want to have something to say because I want to write. Now we may be in danger of this not making sense at all. But that's ok, that's just abstract art.
So many reviews criticise or at least draw focus on the fact that the work they are reading doesn't make any sense to them. But I guess it's all subjective anyway. For example, I am sure people will tell me, after reading this, that what I've written is rubbish, or invalid, or simply not worth reading. Perhaps it would have been better left unsaid? Or written in a different format like a blog post?
But it's those questions and the answers to those that lead to our choices. These choices are the most important thing. That defines where we go, how we get there and what we do there. I am writing this in the hope that at least one person will understand some part of it when they read it - that is, assuming they even read it.
After we know we're writing for a reason, we have to find (or create) thouse illusive ideas and think about the way we can create someting "original". I think this is a fallacy. All the original ideas have gone. Wizards, witches, anything think about it: the love triangle, the battle between man and beast have existed for millienia and there is no possible way you could now come up with something that doesn't at least touch resemblance to something else, somewhere in the world. At least, I think so.
Basically... you're writing on here, but you may not even be aware of why. I don't know why I am writing this. I do know however, that what I am saying has no structure, no order and will possibly be hated by many people, but that's ok - because the main point is: I am writing.

Hi there! I'm Scarlet, I'm kind of new and I'm just surfing down the literary page and I stumbled upon you! I get where your coming from, I have the same problem, I'm 14 and I have a very active imagination yet I can't compose anything from there. Also I'd prefer people tell me my work is complete rubbish and junk than having them lie to me telling me it's wonderful and amazing when they don't really mean it at all. I write because it fills a hole that nothing else can fill, I can take every idea I have and put it into words, wither my writings terrible or not I also hope that someone gets at least one part of my writing despite the lack of imagination, grammar, or even originality I put into it.
Sincerely, ScarletDreams14

Heggo my pretty
This is 567ajt, though by now I don't think I need to introduce myself to you.
Anyway, onto this work. This work has opened up pretty radical ideas and interpretations from me. I can only assume what the meaning of this work is, as it is pretty philosophical and thought provoking.
Each stanza will be dealt with now.
I can assume that the "adrenaline shot" is a reference to drugs, and the Purple Gold is a slang term for some narcotic. However, I think this is a metaphor for the want of the impossible, i.e. Purple Gold- as far as I know- is pretty much a rarity. This character's thirst for a "shot" of Purple Gold could be a metaphor for mankind's search for answers to impossible questions, and thus the work could be a homage to the Absurd. However, this is only an interpretation.
As with other poems in your repertoire, Purple Gold is very confusing, but in a good way. This stanza is no exception, as now it seems that the protagonist will do literally anything to obtain the impossible, even resorting to cutting off all their hair, reasoning it "might be nice". The casual tone accompanying the statement seems to show withdrawal of emotion, as if it's been accepted by the narrator.
"Notes" being money....? Hmmmm. This is indeed intriguing, and the ending of them achieving the impossible, i.e. obtaining Purple Gold. What does it represent? Why do they want? But, most of all, why does Purple Gold even exist? All questions; no answers. And that's the way- uh huh uh huh- I like it.
When I first read this, I had to look up what purple gold was. XD This poem shows the value of some valuables. The theme is kind of hard to find in here because many people don't know what purple gold is and that is their fault. In the future, in the description box, make a short summary about what purple gold is so that you can bring in some readers. You can even include a link to a website that explains it all.
The punctuation is a bit off. You need more commas in this. Also if you have something in stanzas, have a topic to make sure that it is organized. This may confuse your readers a bit. If you have two random ideas, say "She runs on speed" and "We all have Purple Gold". Connect it so that we all may understand.
Now for the things, that I like so that you don't feel too bad about yourself. I love the general idea and theme of this poem. The little nitpicks that you have in there are really nice. For example, the thing about the hair, that stood out to me a lot and I like that. You could become an advertisement writer if you keep this up. All in all, great job. Keep writing and try all the types of poetry that you can because some may work out better for you than others. Stay on YWS.
Hey, short review!
I enjoyed reading your poetry but It took me a couple of attempts to really get it!
I really like your use of imagery, whenever I read about the Purple Gold, I can almost visualize it even though you are not describing it in detail! This judges of your superb writing skills!
I also like the cutting your hair metaphor, I made use of it in many od my works and It just shows the drastic decisions of people, how important the purple gold is to them... love it!
I also love, love, love the line ''she runs on speed'' Actually, thats what made me review it in the first place! A good poem needed a good ending and it totally rocked it!
keep up the good work,
sophiewrites
okay, so I'm just gonna say this poem went completely over my head, and I don't really get the meaning (more my fault than yours haha).
Keep writing!
But honestly, that doesn't matter much, because I can tell you have a clear idea of what you're trying to get across. More importantly, the tone is extremely evident and kind of endearing. I like your choice of wording and structure because they create more emotion than the actual meaning can.
Again, I don't understand what it means, but its a great poem
