Prompt: Help a teacher in distress.
Tring! Tring! The bell had just rung. All of the students were scrambling to get to their classes and teachers were organizing their lesson plans. Everyone was doing what they were supposed to be, but me!
There I was, sitting in a dark, lonely drawer. Nobody cares about me, I thought. I could hear the teacher, Mrs. Lanigan, talking to one of her students, while the rest whispered and giggled. “You understand that you failed your test and will have another chance to get a better grade, right?” she asked in her soft, reassuring voice. I heard her telling the student to go back to his seat.
I dozed off as she talked about cell reproduction and the characteristics of a single-celled organism. I usually learn something new everyday, but I was just too tired. The dark, calm ambience of the drawer added to my sleepiness.
THUD! THUD! THUD! I was woken up by Mrs. Lanigan slamming her hand on the desk as if she was looking for something. Papers shuffled and pens and pencils clattered to the floor. “That’s odd” she said aloud. “I can’t seem to find my glasses.” That’s me, I thought excitedly, she was looking for me!
“Just use your other pair of glasses, Mrs. Lanigan.” a student suggested.
“No, Jeremy,” Mrs Lanigan replied hastily, “Those are my lucky pair!” I wanted to scream and shout at the top of my lungs, but I knew that she would never hear me. The desk was shaking violently, and I heard drawers opening and closing. In between, I heard her rummaging through scissors, glue, and crayons. My moment of glory came when a bright light shined on me. Mrs. Lanigan picked me up, very carefully and said, “Thank goodness,” with a sigh of relief. I was placed on her face. All of the students cheered when the bell rang for them to leave.
“Class, we will continue our lesson tomorrow, for today I was a damsel in distress!” she exclaimed and proceeded to sit down at her now messy desk.

OMG I love POV stories! I really liked how you described everything the glasses heard. Nice use of personification!! I once read a story where someone put it in the POV of a paint brush! It is a great story skill!!!! It was very cute!! Nice work!!!

Thank you sososo sooo much!!
Hahaha. Loved the story. Poor glasses, he couldn't learn anything. The bell rang just after the teacher took him out. Thats the part i liked the most. I have never heard of inanimate objects come to life. But this is just a story. One of the best short story.

Thanks very much!! I appreciate it!!
This is a really nice piece. It's short, but detailed which is a really good feature. And one of the best things about this story is that it can never be rethought of, this is original and well thought out. But, I just have to wonder why were the glasses lucky, what gives them precedence over the other pair of glasses? You have personafied the glasses and made them desire attention like most people want, but why?
Thank you so much for your response! That is one question that nobody has asked me! Now I have to think about it and will definitely think to write that in my next story!!
Very entertaining. I liked this a lot. And I've never heard of a "lucky pair of glasses" so this was something new entirely. I liked this a lot.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
Haha I'm with bloodink on this one it was very weird to read, but also somewhat entertaining because of it. I did enjoy it mostly just because it was short and.. I can't say to the point because I'm not sure what it would have been. Either way great imagination I never would have thought of it, and with this the point of view was very creative. Also when the teacher speaks about the kid and his test you said he would have another chance to retake it, but I think you meant wouldn't, then again maybe not.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comments and tips!
This is honestly one of the weirdest things I have ever read?
Not exactly sure what is going on. LOL. Don't know what the point of the story was... just a funny scene I guess. Your description is good. The ending may be a little cheesy, referencing the damsel in distress and all that. But otherwise... an entertaining read.
Thanks! I really appreciate your tips! I also agree that the ending was not that great.... But I really appreciate you reviewing my story.
You're welcome. Any time. XD
The Messenger knight here to review for Knights of the green Room.
So, I was excited when I read the description, and evermore so when I began reading. I was trying to guess what the object was until it was said. But I wish you would have added more to the guessing. Maybe you could have made some remarks about what it was, without giving it away, and perhaps extend the scene longer, saying everything the glasses took in.
Now there a few punctuation errors I thought I spotted, but I have a bad headache, so I will leave those to be pointed out by other reviewers.
Hope this helps.
Keep it up!
I hope you enjoyed my story! Thanks so much for the tips! I will definitely use them in my next stories! I really appreciate it
