I believe that the film was entertaining and engaging due to the amount of tension it contained. The tension was created throughout all scenes in various different ways. The costumes used linked to the atmosphere of the movie and the characters personalities. The dark colours in their costumes linked to the character they portrayed and the suspicion of the film. For example, Heath Ledger who plays the Joker uses the effect of his makeup to create a jolly yet sadistic look and feel to his character. With a scarred smile etched on a face caked in crudely- painted clown makeup, he gives the movie a mysterious side to it.
Batman/Bruce Wayne, played by Christian Bale, are the typical ‘hero’ of the movie, playing two identities. He portrays a sort of James Bond feel, as he is always surrounded by women and wearing suits to show his importance. His Batman costume is dark and hides who he really is, adding more anonymity to the movie. His costumes are all dark and his voice is low, adding tension. However, the look of some characters such as Two Face was not fully physically doable and so the use of Photoshop was needed to create gory, mangled visage when he is burned. The use of Photoshop helps to make things look more realistic and emphasize the point they try to put across.
Secrecy and action is also shown through the use of effects and sounds. ‘Typically, these films will have between 1,000 and 2,000 effects shots. We have about 650 visual effects shots, a lot of which are simple rig removals or things we can’t achieve for reasons of cost or safety. We really blew up everything we could in the film,” Christopher Nolan notes. “When you’re dealing with an anarchist, somebody who is dedicated to chaos, the movie visceral way of representing that is an explosion.” The director is a unique director for whom bigger scale, larger budget, and more polished state-of-the-art special effects translate into all-around better picture.
The script and dialogue of the movie is very well thought out. Batman’s voice is lowered to sound more mysterious and to also hide his identity. The Joker’s voice is very clown-like yet has a violent side to it. His choice of words are very manipulating and can be taken in different ways yet we see when he is threatened that he can get scared easy. They speak very sophisticatedly so show authority and they’re society class. The pace of their dialogue speeds up when the action increases too, so the pace of their dialogue shows the pace of the movie.
Overall, I believe the movie was very well put together and everything was taken into consideration. The mystery and action worked well together and I would thoroughly recommended this movie to all ages.

Happy to help if I can!

You're definitely a talented writer - I can see nothing wrong with your sentence structure, punctuation and so on.
Now to the nitty gritty:
I LOVE this movie. Probably in the top three I have ever seen & I don't feel as though you do it justice.
Hey - I get that reviews are all about opinion but it seems to me that you did actually like it! I thought you'd be a little bit more excited about it. You've included a lot of facts about how to production team have changed voices, makeup and screen shots but you haven't put much in about what YOU liked!
I want to know which actor/actress you thought did a FANTASTICAL job? Or which part of the movie had you literally clawing on to the edge of your seat?!
I hope this helped and I'm happy to read anything you post in the future

Hey, Roxy! I'm just gonna go through with a few suggestions. You obviously know how to put a sentence together. You write solidly on that level, and you know how to get information across. What you should pay attention to as you move forward is organization of your ideas!
First, take a look at the opening sentence:
I understand that the title of the film is in your title, but I still don't think this a good way to introduce your topic. "the film" -- what film!?! Even if your review is about The Dark Knight, you could have wanted to open your review talking about an older batman film for comparison, so you need to be specific!
And then comes the first moment of needing some organization:
Whenever you say "there are many different blah blah blah", the reader is immediately going to be looking for examples. Even if they saw the movie and can bring up their own ideas about how the tension was created, they're reading this article because it is a perspective outside of themselves, and they kinda want to see if they agree or disagree with another person's opinion. Which means you need to present yours and your examples.
Now, looking at the big picture by paragraphs, these are the ideas you present, in order:
tension
costume
costume
photoshop
explosions
director
script
pace
This is A LOT of material to cover! In just four paragraphs, you talk about seven aspects of the movie. So that brings me to my next recommendation:
find a main point and stick to it.
I know it's a review and it should talk about the movie generally, but right now this review is spread too thin, mentioning just a little bit about everything, and therefore telling us almost nothing. You describe costumes to us, but most people read reviews to either check whether they'll see the movie or, as I said, see if they agree or disagree with the opinions inside. Neither of those audience needs a description of the costume if it's not followed by a distinct opinion like "the costumes seemed cheap and made the movie unenjoyable" or "without the costumes this movie would not be worth seeing at all".
So pick the most controversial opinion you have about the Dark Knight, the one most people might yell at you or argue with you for. Collect evidence to support your opinion, and present that as your review instead. It will bring a much bigger reaction, and with your strength in sentence writing, will certainly be easy to swallow.
PM me if you have any questions or comments, please! I'd love to talk.
And keep writing~
This has been my first review so thank you for the help I'll work on that all next tjme and sure would be great to talk!
Hello! Iggy here to review.
I feel that there was a better way to write these two sentences, since the second practically echoes the third. What you can do is combine them into one sentence, since the color is part of the costumes.
A better way to write this sentence is to switch those two names around. "For example, the Joker, who is played by Heath Ledger, uses.."
This is a sentence where I feel you can break it up into two sentences, one about Mr. Bale and one about the hero. "Christian Bale is the actor behind Batman, and his secret identity and daytime alias, Bruce Wayne. He's the typical hero of the story.."
I trailed off because you can go ahead and finish that line. You'll also notice that I removed the quotation marks from "hero", since there isn't really a reason to emphasize the word. He truly is Gotham's hero.
The second sentence basically echoes the first, so find a good way to combine these. "Costume" makes it sound like he's just a child out on Halloween. Try replacing it with "suit". Also, describe "dark" for us, or just replace it with a better synonym, so it's a bit more creative.
I'd replace that with "whose".
Who's "they"? Batman and Joker? While Batman's true identity is a very high class and wealthy man, Joker is far from that. He's a criminal, so he is in no way "sophisticated", so I suggest obliterating that line completely.
Definitely not a good line to add in for this type of movie. This would be suitable for a child's movie, like the Lorax, but not for a movie that has violence and slight language in it. My recommendation is to edit this sentence and state that it is suitable for teenagers over 13, since the rating was PG-13.
Alright! Beside those nitpicks above, I have one last bad thing to focus on. I feel that you repeat yourself too much and describe too little. What I mean is, don't echo the earlier statements of the previous sentence. Of you would like to continue on the same subject, find a way to reword yourself. Also, try to describe things more, especially when you're talking about the character's personality or the way they dress.
Despite those nitpicks, I can tell that your wording is strong and was very well written. Hardly any grammar mistakes, which is definitely a bad thing to have in your review. I think you did a good job to describe the sadistic anarchist Joker is, and I would suget that you do the same for Batman. Another suggestion is to include the other main character and talk about them some more. For instance, Harvey Dent and especially Rachel Dawes, who wasn't mentioned at all.
Overall, good work! Keep on writing!
x Iggy.
Yeah this is the first review I've attempted but thanks I'll take everything in to consideration!
Well, I've never really reviewed a review! I'm just going to review this in the same way I'd do so any other sort of generic writing. I'm going to try to keep this short and simple, too, considering I potentially have no idea what I'm talking about.
I liked the format of which you wrote this. The writing flows smoothly from one topic to another, which is often sort of difficult to achieve in non-creative works.
The illustrated points of the movie are fair. Personally, I would have mentioned some different details, but I don't think it effects the entire review in any large way.
Overall, I think it's a fair piece. Good job, and keep writing!
Aww thank you:)
