I NEED ADVICE

I was doing research on my first book but the conflict that i want to add deals with Russia being hostile towards well ... the rest of the world I guess ( not sure yet :? ) but some people close to me told me that they didn't think it would get published because of how our relations have always been with Russia.

I just want to know if this will work and not be to controversial.

thanks. :D

I can't imagine you having any sort of problem. There are already several books and films, and even comics and video games, dealing with Russia as a hostile, invading country.
I wrote the above just for you.

Russia as a hostile nation is almost a cliche in certain genres.

Whoever told you that is wrong, I think. I feel that Russia is a really safe country to make the "evil" country.
