At the moment, Princeton Readings in Political Thought. =0p Also, The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco for my Lit class. Ohh, and lots of poetry for my writer's workshop and my college's literary magazine. Deadline's tonight--yikes!

Is it me or is every single book we read in English class something others don't like while I fall mysterisiouly in love with them?

Handbags and Gladrags by Maggie Alderson!
I like it because it was written before the devil wears prada and its nearly identical yet a bit more sophisticated. All about the fashionistas of the world who jet off to Milan, Paris and Tokyo to view the fashion shows most people would love to go to. you know like Dior, St Laurent and Pucci.
Its a great insight to that kind of industry and its got romance thrown in!!
Clever stuff!

The Masqueraders -- Georgette Heyer

Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrel -- Susanna Clarke. It's an oddly dry book for humour, tinged with a sense of irony on all edges and never heavy-handed. It's worth the time all the same.

Rereading Jane Eyre...OMG that book is AWESOME!!!! Unfortunately, I still need to read Don Quixote...I just can't seem to get into it though! And I need to read Northanger Abbey by Austen...gotta love the classics!

For fun, I'm rereading Francine Rivers' As Sure as the Dawn.

For Omnibus I'm reading H.D.F. Kitto's The Greeks (which is pretty darn cool) and Thucydides' history of the Peloponnesian War (which is pretty darn long).

D-Day, by Stephen Ambrose, its interesting so far, to find out what some people were thinking. I'm only on page 25 though..

Just finished the Crucible, by Arthur miller. Interesting play, its about the Salem witch trials, yet with some fiction to add drama and other much needed emotions. Arthur miller played upon their weak points and exposed the people for who they really were (very well too). I didn't like the play much, but the writing was well done. it's pretty short (4 acts).

Wiggy: Northanger Abbey is the only Austen I'll ever love
