Watching movies with friends and or/alone! Coraline/The Nightmare Before Christmas and other movies like that along with Over the Garden Wall have become part of my Halloween tradition.
I chose candy because here in Canada, it's too cold to just wear your costume, you've got about five other layers on top and under your costume. *sigh*
I love the costumes. Sadly, Australia doesn’t really celebrate Halloween. I did get trick-or-treaters last year, though. Hoping I get more this year. ^^

The costumes! I'm dressing up as The Corpse Bride this year for a Tim Burton themed party and I'm super excited to finish putting my costume together!
But also the community spirit. Halloween's a day when there are children walking the street late at night and it's so nice to see how safe they are and to see the interactions with other families around the neighbourhood. Like, the Chadwicks always had apple bobbing/ events outside their house when I was growing up and people would just hover around their drive and chat and catch up. Most years my parents would take us to the Samaritans Halloween party before trick or treating and we'd spend a few hours just playing or being crafty with other children. It varies a lot in the UK to what degree different areas celebrate Halloween but it was always handled really well in the village I grew up in.
For in everything it is no easy task to find the middle ... anyone can get angry—that is easy—or give or spend money; but to do this to the right person, to the right extent, at the right time, with the right motive, and in the right way, that is not for everyone, nor is it easy; wherefore goodness is both rare and laudable and noble. — Aristotle
