Eye Removal and Tears

Hey!

I have a question that I hope someone has some sort of knowledge in. In a story I am writing, the MC has had his eyes forcibly removed years ago. I have some scenes where he is crying, but I don't know if eye removal also destroys the tear ducts. Therefore I'm not sure if he would even shed tears. Some info on this would be great, thanks!

I don't think he would be able to cry. It just doesn't make sense.
