Hey! You're so nice for doing this.

Could you take a look at my novella? I'd greatly appreciate feedback. The first chapter is a little choppy, flow-wise, but after that it smoothes out.

Title: Captive
Genre: Historical/Romance
Summary: In the cold, isolated forests of 16th-century Europe, a lord takes a boy prisoner. As an unexpectedly tender relationship develops between captor and captive, resentment and distrust grow into warmth and trust in a pair of hearts that were once achingly empty. It aims to be a sensitive portrayal of a tender, if fragile, relationship that grows between two characters because of mutual loneliness as well as an intense longing for companionship. As a tentative trust develops between the two characters, the dynamics of their captor-captive relationship continually change as power is given, taken, and shared. As their bond deepens, the boy finds a new kind of freedom in his captivity and the man finds redemption for a brutal crime he committed.

Thank you!

You put it under romance. I'm sorry, but it's one of the things I won't review. It's not one of my favorite genres, so I won't read anything that's focused on romance. Sorry about that, but I did state that as one of the things I will not review. :(

Okay, that's fine. I was torn between putting it in Historical and Romance, but I put it in Romance.

Thanx for the review Idraax!
(seeing that your names ends with 'ax' I should have known that the editing would be very thorough  )
Anyway, it was very helpfull!
she got a dazed impression of a whirling chaos in which steel flashed and hacked, arms tossed, snarling faces appeared and vanished, and straining bodies collided, rebounded, locked and mingled in a devil's dance of madness.

I wish the smilies worked because there's one of this little red smiley rolling around laughing, which is what I felt like doing when I read your post. I couldn't because I'm currently in the library, waiting for class to start and there's other people around. You can find the smilies here: http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/posting.php?mode=smilies&f=188#.
