Alex quickly texted him back and changed into her clothes. She dried her hair and strutted out of the bathroom. She grabbed her makeup bag from Avery and walked back into the bathroom. Alex hardly put on any makeup and she made sure to take out her nose ring. It was getting uncomfortable.

She walked back to Avery and sat next to him, “We’ve got two hours to spare, what do you wanna do?”

Avery scrunched up his nose. Two hours till... what? Oh. "Can't go swimming since we both just took a shower. Uh, we could have a breakfast? Pancakes? Eggs and bacon? Waffles? You know my eggs and bacons are the best." he winked.

“They are delicious.” Alex agreed, “But where are you going to cook them? Breakfast here is buffet style. We could just eat here.”

"Oh right." Avery got up and walked over to the mini-fridge they had, peeking in. He looked longingly at the barely empty racks (the only thing there was were three apples and water bottles), hoping eggs and bacon would appear so he could make them.

He turned to look at Alex. "Maybe they have eggs and bacon downstairs."

So they both slipped on shoes, tucked their phones in their pockets, grabbed the two keys they had of the suite (Avery also took his car keys), and headed downstairs to the large dining hall from the elevator.

Chandeliers hung down from the ceiling and circular table dotted the whole hall with little bottles of pepper and salt in the middle.

“Holy crap…” Alex said, looking at the elegant room, “Sam would be so jealous.”

She pulled out her phone, took a photo, and quickly texted her dads “Wish You Were Here”. They were escorted by a waiter to a table and given small little menus.

“You know, I might get french toast and orange juice,” Alex said, staring at the menu, “We didn’t have dinner last night, so I’m hungry.”

Avery gawked at the menu. "It all looks so simple but delicious!" he exclaimed. He looked up at the waiter. "Surprise me with whatever is your best." he grinned.

The waiter - her name was Ish - nodded and turned slightly to look at Alex. "Decided?" she asked.

“Uh, yeah, surprise me too. And bring water, please.” Alex said. Ish smiled at her and took their menus away. Alex’s phone dinged.

“I bet it’s Samuel,” Alex told Avery and checked her phone, and chuckled, “Yup, it’s Sam. He’s super jealous and wants us to rent them a room by us.”

Ish came back out with the waters and some toast with butter. Alex and Avery thanked her and she walked away.

Avery rubbed his hands together and dug into the food. "This is probably the best toast I've had."

He almost winced, getting ready for the smack Izzy would have given him, because she always claimed that she made the best toast. He smiled.

"If Sam really wants to come, I'd be happy to pay." he said, looking up at Alex and stuffing another piece of toast into his mouth.

“No, Isaac wouldn’t let him. Sam has to find a job and Isaac has to work.” Alex shrugged, buttering her second piece of toast. Sam had been fired from his last job as an art critic and had been trying to get a job since. Unfortunately, no one was hiring art critics.

Ish cleared their plates and brought them food. She handed Alex a plate with two crepes, stuffed with creme and various fruits, “I hope y'all enjoy. I picked my favorites for ya.”

She backed away and moved to wait on another table. Alex took a bite of her crepe, it was delicious. One of the best breakfast items she had ever had.

Avery almost inhaled his crepe. When he got a look from a kid on his left, Avery smiled at him. "I can't help it. It's good isn't it?" he asked when he saw the kid had the same crepes.

The kid raised his brows and slowly looked away. Avery grinned. He finished the last of his crepe and sighed, leaning back into his cushioned chair.

"That was good." he said after taking a sip of his water.

“Absolutely,” Alex agreed, mouth still full of crepe. She swallowed and drank some of her water, “That was great.”

Alex’s phone buzzed and Jonah’s name appeared beside a notification. Alex read it and announced to Avery, “Change of plans, Jonah says we can go to Elizabeth’s house whenever.”

“Sure,” Alex said, “Hold on.”

She waved Ish down and asked to pay. Ish handed her a form, which she wrote down their room number and names down on. Ish thanked them for coming and walked off to another table.

Avery got up, grabbed his keys and headed out of the dining hall, Alex following him. They walked right out of the building and stood beside the car. "Do you want to drive? I'm done with driving." he said.

“Sure, I can drive.” Alex responded, then got in the drivers seat. She buckled up, and as soon as Avery was in the car, pulled out of the parking spot, “Could you pull up the directions, please? I don’t know the way.”
