They reached the library, and Emery paused in front of the door. "Ready for this? Hold your breath."

(Cool! Could be a fun thing to hear the full background, but Zander won’t poke at it unprovoked lol)

Zander took a comically large breath.

(Sure! He'll probably spill at some point; he's pretty comfortable with Zander at this point.)

Emery swung open the door and held it for him with a wide grin. "BEHOLD!"

(Sweet! I like their dynamic. I feel like this is more the Zander I was going for — he’s being too pushy with Ky and idk why lol)

Zander beheld alright. He strode in, keeping his expression neutral until he had time to filter though his thoughts and emotions, quickly. It was impressive. He understood why they all raved about it. Ky was going to have a hay day here. He hoped it became a haven for her of peace, rather than just a place to come to sulk. But either way, this was sure to lighten her mood.

“Wow!” Zander turned towards him with grin. “This deserves every last bit of praise I’ve heard sung for it.”

(I like it a lot, he strikes me as a protective kind of dad figure)

"See, I knew you'd like it." Emery grinned. "Every subject imaginable is in this library."

(Aww, okay, cool -- good to know he's not utterly insufferable lol but yes he may not be her father but she is absolutely his kiddo haha)

"What about..." Zander hesitated, glancing around to buy time as he tried to think up the most inane topic he could possibly muster. Just to be a brat. "Southern Mycology?"

"That'll be a matter for the Botany Librarians. Probably in..." He thought for a moment. "Twelfth Aisle, first floor?"

Zander scoffed, but grinned, trying to think of another topic. "... history of athletics in the East?"

"Oh, I know where that is. Aisle 10, Section 18."

Zander squinted at him, trying to decide if that was sarcasm or not. The delivery didn't seem ironic. But he also didn't want to risk looking foolish if he took Emery seriously if Emery was joking. So instead, "...water quality in the Far North?"

"Aisle 3...section...I don't know."

"Hah!" Zander grinned and shook his head. He highly doubted Emery had every single aisle of the library memorized, especially to the absurd degree Zander was demanding -- but he believed that the books existed in this library. "Alright. It's official: I am impressed."

"Most everybody is." Emery nodded. "Visually stunning and chock full of knowledge."

Zander nodded, too. “I don’t think there’s time for me to get immersed in anything here before lunch, but I’d certainly like to circle back at some point.”

"Absolutely. There are some restricted bits for guests like yourself, but with me and the Librarians you shouldn't end up in any trouble. We'll keep you away."
