Spoiler! :
Every single one of these poems is painfully relatable. You do such a good job of summarizing the essence of the human experience or at least a human experience that I find highly relatable into short, simple poetry. Like there's nothing pretentious or frilly about your language, and I think that's what makes it feel so real and true and right.

realizing your tears are the last thing that's cradled your face.

and
i paint my walls with dreams,
a kaleidoscope of colliding colors

and
i hope you know you are a miracle.

are just a few of my favourite lines.

Also the sound devices in cats are just so lovely :')

Wonderful job with NaPo this year, TheBlueCat!

30

lacuna

i've been tripping over my own feet, falling head-first,
still miles behind where i thought i was supposed to be.
i know time runs at the same speed, 60 minutes per hour,
so why can't i calculate
how to stop the rug from being pulled out from under me?
the conveyor belt is running too fast
and i can't fill in the pieces fast enough,
fragments of missing curriculum catching my broken shoes as i run.
were these gaps always supposed to be there?
i know better than to compare my life to others',
but it sure feels like i didn't get the same tools.

i'll continue to write poetry about my aching heart and weary mind,
scraps of tissues shoved into the cracks,
trying to take up some of the space
of whatever was supposed to be there in the first place.
these lacunae defy definition,
so i'll keep the broken pieces under a microscope
and try to find the right words to heal the cracks in the sidewalk
on the journey to finding me.

Spoiler! :
🥳🥳🥳 We got to 30!! I can't believe I actually did it! I'm not saying I doubted myself, but let's just say last week was pretty rough 😅

Thank you so so much to everyone who's been reading and supporting my poetry all month; it means so much to me so see that people actually read and appreciate my work and honestly all the support has really helped push me through the month! I hope this will help me to get out of my writing funk and actually start writing and sharing more this year! Stay tuned :D

Spoiler! :
Totally agree with Hijinks that you've got a lot of terrifically relatable poems in here this month which makes them pretty compelling to read. Congratulations on reaching 30 and completing NaPo, that's a wonderful accomplishment and I know how hard it is to do!

In your last set here I absolutely love, "tell me how it feels to fly" and I thought "romantic" was a wonderful narrative reflection on that situation.

i'll continue to write poetry about my aching heart and weary mind,
scraps of tissues shoved into the cracks,
trying to take up some of the space
of whatever was supposed to be there in the first place.

These lines especially from your last poem I really liked! The resoluteness of a poet to write. <3 Thanks for sharing your poetry this month, I enjoyed reading along!
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return
