This is obviously my first time doing NaPoWrMo seeing as I joined halfway through November of last year. I really don't know what to write here except for one thing. I rarely write poems but here I am signing up for 30. This will certainly be fun.

I don't know if I'll make it any further than 4. Let it just stay at that goal amount for awhile until I write a fifth.

List
1. Roll Out The Lines
2. Review Day
3. Procrastinating
4. Stars Shining in Gold
5. The Song That Grew Old
6. Just Two Reviews Will Do
7. Day 7: I Don't Have A Clue What To Do
8. Most Of The Poems I Put Down...
9. I'm Really Just Winging it at This Point
10. Reviews Are Easy
11. From A Song to A Poem
12. I Walk Along The Road
13. Darkness Surrounds

1. There may or may not have been a song that inspired me to write this but I believe it was a pretty good way to start off the month. It sounds better to the tune of "Beer Barrel Polka". Just look it up on YouTube and then the time will be stuck on your head.
There's a website, a single website, and all sorts of works are written there
There'll be action and horror and lots of humor
But when they roll out the lines, we all get up to write
Roll out the lines, we'll have stanzas of fun
Roll out the lines, a poet's work is never done
There'll be sadness and depression and lots of bad romancing
But when they roll out the lines, we all get up and write
Take a review, maybe two and you'll out of the green room
If you don't it'll be your piece's doom
But whether you lack reviews or likes from fans
Don't let that one doom become a tomb
Roll out the lines, we'll have stanzas of fun
Roll out the lines, for a poet's work is never done

2.
Do you hear what I hear?
Those screams and cries coming from depths.
That's a sign that you should see.
Review Day is coming near.
I've been through four
And I'll probably go through four more.
Review Dayyy, Review Dayyy, Review Dayyy, Review Dayyy
Can I hear you say Review Dayyy?
What a way for a people to go their separate ways.
Screams of pain and streams of tears.
What do you think they could be for?
For a love? For a book?
Damn it John Green.
Those reasons fine but if you must truly know,
our pains are for Review Day.
Do you see what I see?
Through the mist and rapid reviewing.
A trophy but not of gold just an computer code.
This is what the champion shall gain,
But why you might ask, go through the pain.
Can you touch a user to comfort?
No, they're virtual.
Yes, they're just people.
You can, it's really, really true.
Here take a hug.
Hugs any user that comes across poem.
But hey, hey, hey
It's Review Dayyy
So save though tears.
Emotions don't come until after twenty-four hours.
Save the tears and the screams and for now put a smile on that face.
It's basically a holiday and this is really bad preview.

3.
Procrastinating?
I'm not procrastinating.
I'm just a little bit busy with other work.
What do you mean I'm putting it off?
It's right here on my calendar,
The day after tomorrow in fact.
If I don't get it done then,
Then I don't know when.
Just schedule it for any day except,
Monday because I have lots of portfolios.
I can't do Tuesday or Wednesday either.
Why?
Oh I have some mandatory Live Lessons.
Thursday is not very good either
Nor Friday.
I know it sounds like excuses but I'm really very busy.
Can't you tell that from my ten reviews a day.
Maybe I'll just set it off till next March.
Yes I know it's April.
I meant March of next year.
See I told you,
I'm not procrastinating at all.

4.
First came my discovery
And then me submitting
A perfect name
An in-perfect profile

Then came my very first review
And now I look back on you
And I wonder how could I have ever typed
Such a short and simple message

Oh yay
A star
One bright, shining, little gold star
I'll soon find you a friend darling
For you review number 5
Have shown me what I need to do

How, oh how
Have I written 25 reviews?
They're getting better by the day.
Oh no.
How could that have ever been one of my reviews?
Ahh.
The pain
The horror

There Star #1 I have gained a friend for you
Just little old Star #2
Don't worry darlings
Another of you kin will be along soon

How will I ever get to 75?
I'm at 74 but I just can't go on.
Wait my 75th is done.
Congrats to me for getting this far.

Oh crap.
Now I have to strive for 150.
I must be crazy to thinks that's possible
Thirty to go
Twenty to go
Ten to go
Two to go
Hooray! I'm free.

Oh cow again.
Now I have to do 250.

5.My apologies in advance if you cry, I don't usually write poetry in such a sad way.
Spoiler! :
This is more of a song than a poem. It's based off of an old one that I can't remember the words to or the title.

Here I am Johnny,
I'm waiting for you.
Will you ever come?
I just keep thinking bout that old song?

Do you remember,
The words we used to sing?
In the days before you went away.
I don't quite remember but I still remember tune.

Oh Johnny,
Why did you have to go away?
The war could without you,
But had to be a hero, darling.

Hello Johnny, good bye
Hello Johnny don't cry
I know you're coming back from the war one day
So hello Johnny, good bye

Hello Susie, good bye
Hello Susie don't cry
My enlistment runs up any day
So hello Susie, good bye

Hello Johnny, good bye
I really shouldn't cry
But I just can't wait for you to get back to me
So hello Johnny, good bye

Hello Susie good bye
You're right, you shouldn't cry
What to have to be sad for?
So hello Susie, good bye

Hello Johnny, good bye
But what if you die?
There's always a chance and it'll break my heart
So Johnny I have a reason to cry

Hello Susie, good bye
I swear to God I won't die
I'll keep my promise and we'll be married by spring
So please Susie don't cry

But you didn't keep the promise too well,
And they sent a friend of your to tell,
Me I'd lost thing I loved.
So for the last time

Hello Johnny good bye
I know you wouldn't want me to cry
I'll see you in heaven one day
Say hello to Uncle Ben for me

6.
Dear sir or ma'am,
I wish to make an inquiry.

Why have you not yet,
Review my piece?
What happened to me?
Why was I allowed,
To sink into the Green Room,
And never be found?

Where has my life gone?
Why am I so sad?
In an instant,
I would be so glad...

So oh please, please, oh please
Just review my poem
Mr. or Miss User
Just review my collection of poems

I've put my heart
And my soul
Into this piece of
Poetry

I've watched
All the other pieces
Be reviewed.
But why not me?

What have done?
To make you avoid my piece.
But mine just stays
In the green room
By many passing days.

All need is two reviews.
Just two reviews will do.
And then, I'll freeee
So please just come and review my poetry

Please, please
Don't make it wait
Until Review Day
A month is too long when
It's already been
Two Days

It's just a short silly poem
It won't take any time
Talking bout happy things
Trying to make people smile
All it needs two reviews

Yeah two reviews will do
I didn't make the world end
I tried to brighten it up a bit
By using my life and making fun
Of all the stupid things I've done

Yes I felt like cursing
I may have even said hell
But then again when faced with such time
Wouldn't you

Just please, please review
Just two reviews will do
I'll be forever indebted to you
Meaning I'll give one review

7.
It's Day 7 you see
And little old me
Thought that she
Could make it past three

I did make it past three
And then went to four
I thought to myself
Well I can do four more

I commited to 30 in the beginning
This may have been a mistake
But I was a newbie
Who never wrote poetry

Now I'm at 7
And I don't have the slightest clue
To talk about in the forum
Maybe reviews

Oh no
I've already discussed reviewing
Twice now
How did I do it twice?

That's crazy

What else haven't I done?
I showed emotion
I showed tears
What do I have to do now?

Are there any other feelings I could use?
Something, anything, anybody
To be my muse
I'm creating a work of art
I'll pay you with points
I just need a subject for my work of art

I can really only offer a couple of points
But please just tell me about your life
It doesn't have to be sad
Nor happy
Or extremely unique

I just need something
To talk about
To finish
Number 7

8.
Most of the poems I put down
Never get published
They just fade
Like the ink on the page
And never get their chance at fame

Most of the poems I put down
Were originally set to a sound
That sound was music
But in writing there is nothing
To make them exist

Most of the poems I down
Don't rhyme at all
They just sort flow with wind
Nothing say

But hey, hey, hey, hey
Do you think I'm saying
Good bye
To poetry and to rhyming

Does a poem
Really have to have that flow?
Does it need to blow in breeze?
Or it could be, anything?

Most of the poems I put down
I scared of the reviews I'll get
I never wrote poetry
Before came here
But I'll never quit

One day I'll be a poet
Known for writing funky songs
That go with music long sung
One day, this will all come true

Most of the poems I put down
Exist in a dream
And my dream may come true
One day

9.
What should I write?
I've got to keep
This thread
Alive

What should I do
With all this time?
Oh wait
It's already gone away

What will I do
For today's post
I've got nothing
I'm just making up as I go along

What should be my inspiration?
Do I take from nature?
Or do I take from man?
Do I remember, how this poem should end?

Everybody fine
With all their poems
And here I am struggling
Don't know if I can finish one more

I may not last another day
I just don't have enough pain
To draw emotion
To make this sad

Because my life isn't all that bad
I don't break-ups to deal
Don't have write about guys I hate
Or my mother who warned me

I don't have to write about
All that school drama
I work online all day
And then here
I just post what I have to say

I could complain
About anything
But would really matter to
Me

I've eight days
And can last one more
I can take my pencil
And write a poem

I can survive
The entire month
If I just would write
Ahead of time

I don't always have an hour
For masterpiece
But always have some time
To write a tune
That can be sung to

I can do this
I can survive
An entire month of poems
And I'll all in stride

Because I can survive

Reviews are easy.
Do you think this is true?
Maybe you think it's a
Difficult thing to do?

Well I can tell you
Now that I've made it this far
Reviews are quite easy
If you just look to the stars

This might seem like nonsense
But it's not
You just have set your eyes
Upon the gold, the gold.

Each of those
Little shining stars
And then see
Them passing by

All you need to do
Is say hello
Then add something nice
For the user

Don't be snide
And don't be rude
Eventually you'll miss a plot hole
Don't focus on those little things

Pay attention
Cover it all
Make sure
It's helpful

Don't disregard
One part
Just because
You don't like it

Always think
Before you post
What exactly are you saying?
Are you okay, with someone telling you this?

Is it cruel?
Or helpful?
Is it long?
Or none of the above?

A review
Doesn't always
3000 characters
Darling

If you make to 1000
Everything should be alright
Stick to the Green Room
And everything should be alright

I write songs
Most of the time
And then
I try to change

They start as lyrics
And eventually they become lines
In a poem
I post somewhere

Maybe here
Maybe there
You may read them
You may laugh

But have my reasons
For writing bout
Happiness

Ella sang about
Walking on the sunny side of the street
She was happy in the light
Out of the darkness

Gene sang about
Singing in the rain
No matter if it meant
Getting wet

All these songs
Are poetry
Yet they maintain
To be happy

This goes against what
I've learned before
Heard before
Sang before

It can be happy
It can be sad
Maybe poetry isn't that bad
Why did I avoid it for so long?

Poetry is the same
As my songs

Spoiler! :
I'm a bit behind and I can't even really remember what the last one I wrote was. Maybe I'll just finish out the month in the next couple posts so I don't have to worry about it during the testing season. My slightly inspirational song comes from an ode of sorts written to one of my favorite musicians.

I walk along the road
Hearing that train whistle blow
I walk along the road
Hearing those roosters crow

I walk along the road
On past the highway
I walk along the road
Down to Kansas City

I walk along the road
In the sunny, sunshine
I walk along road
Waiting for somebody

I walk along the road
Waiting for Bobby
I walk along the road
Waiting for my Bobby McGee

I keep walking
Along the road
Because I know
There's a bright future

I walk along the road
Headed for England
I walk along the road
Headed for Baltimore

No longer will I
Sit in the darkness
Waiting for the light
No longer, shall I

One step forward
One step back
Two steps forward
And I've never going back

Because I walk along the road
Headed for the sunny, sunshine
Because I walk along the road
That's cut by the river and rain

And I'll keep
Towards the sunshine
Cause won't sit in the darkness
No more

Spoiler! :
I have decided to try poetry prompts. First one, An animal you think is beautiful or strange.

The night is black
And the darkness surrounds
A lonely traveler
Traveling through the woods

The moon casts shadows
Upon darkened roots
And blood red roses
Thorns sharper than blades

An owl hoots
And can hear the
Click, clack, click
Of the traveler's boots

Light at the ready
Weapon in hand
Curses beneath the breath
Silence through the land

Flap, flip, flap
Wings beating at the wind
Skulls rough
And neighs high

Fly up, fly up
The unknown to the sky
Gather to the gates
And stand waiting

Pull, pull
Go, go
The cart isn't heavy
It's just a few second years

Spoiler! :
Another try at using prompts. The shapes you see in clouds.

Look up to the sky
And what do you see
Most likely, you see
Something different that what appears before me

On the first cloud,
What would you say?
A unicorn
And me, what would I say?

Probably
A mutant horse
That should go see
Professor X

See how our thoughts so much differ
You on light and fluffy stuff
Me focusing on fandoms
And darkness and such

Maybe we shouldn't be friends
There has to be someone happy
Instead of someone so sad
So, so unhappy

Another cloud passes by
And what will we see this time?
A castle
Camelot

Hmm
Maybe that wasn't the best example
For Camelot
Does have a castle

Ooh, ooh
What about that one?
A tree for wands
Like in Harry Potter

Hah
That tree is no good
For wands
And where would you find the phoenix feather

You really try and fit with me
Maybe the puzzle would work right better
Face it though
The truth is near

I belong in the clouds
And you on the ground
There is much to explore
And none of it you have witnessed

So welcome my friend
To the magical world
Of many mysteries...
