What is April Madness?

18 Poets (possibly more or less depending on demand) face off against one another to be named the supreme poet of YWS! They compete in a series of rounds, each poet submitting a poem to be compared with their opponent's.

The Competitors

Please post on this thread to sign up for one of the places. If there are no places left but you wish to take part, please sign up to be a replacement and if we get enough of these, we may expand the contest. Even if not, all replacement poets will submit a poem during round one. Should any contestant fail to submit their poem, you will then face their opponent instead.

Sign ups will run until the 31st March but if we don't have 18 by then, they will be extended through the duration of round one. Anyone joining after the 31st March should post a poem regardless of whether they have been assigned a rival yet. Rivals will be assigned on the 1st April.

Judges

1. Rydia
2. Karzkin
3. Via

I am looking for 2/3 fellow judges so please sign up below. Judges can take part in the contest and are encouraged to do so but will be placed in opposite heats where possible and will not be allowed to judge any match they are involved in.

I've participated two years in a row now, and both times failed to pass through the first round. I have a strong desire to repeat this a third time. :D
