Guess what? We get to choose a book for our final big American Lit. Project! I'm so happy! But it has to meet three requirements:
1)Must be an American author
2)Must have been published since 1975 (a little leeway possibly allowed)
3) (and most important/hardest) It must have won an award of some kind for literary quality. (and no, Newberry isn't allowed. I guess that rules out Caldecott
The assignment is called Classics of the Future. We will be discussing stuff like what makes a book a classic and we will then have to write an essay on whether or not the book has to be a classic.
Fantasy is my favorite genre, but I also enjoy sci-fi and mysteries.
Anyone know of any good ones? Also, has anyone read Tooth and Claw by Jo Walton? It won some fantasy award last year. I'm just not certain if she's American. Is it a good book? Is she American? Help me, please!
