Granted, but you read so fast you aborb no information.
I wish I had a puppy.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
Granted, but... (This is too easy. Didn't you even read the myth?) You can't actually eat anything, because it all turns to gold when it touches your mouth, not to mention the fact that's you're completely immobilized by your new gold clothes and then you accidentally touch two fingers together and become a statue.
Alternate corruption (this is a fun one, and I want to be original). Scientifically, you've never actually touched anything. Because physics. You can't touch anything, ergo your gift is useless. Have fun with survival.
I wish that I lived in the Pirates of the Caribbean universe AND was a pirate there AND was not hanged or executed in any other way or killed at sea in any way. I wanna live, okay? Okay, let's not jinx me.

I wish Fish & Game would process my falconry license application more quickly.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
Granted, but you go back in time and convince Hitler to become an artist instead, leading to him becoming the greatest painter of the 20th century. World War Two never happens. As a result, the USSR grows substantially during this time. They become more powerful than America and now, due to the butterfly effect, we now all live under a communist dictatorship. Way to go, jerk.
I wish the Reverend would lift the ban on dancing in my town.
Granted, but now all you can do is dance, walking normally is banned.
I wish the fires would stop.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
Granted. All fires everywhere stop. All plasma is no longer possible. With no sun, we freeze to death. With no other stars, all other hypothetical life forms in the universe presumably also freeze to death.
I wish that I had more novel writing time and that I actually used it for writing.

Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you—
Ye are many—they are few.” — Mary Shelly
