Aha valid! I've got a speech disability which just gives me an odd accent, not a Stereotypical Speech Disability Accent -- but when I was a kid people in rural WV would claim I had a British accent. I do not. But I would still get people putting on terrible British accents to mock my accent even though I can't control it.
And once when I was a cashier this couple comes in talking in British accents and I was like *deeeeeeeeeep sighhhhhhh* because I thought I was going to have to deal with them actively attacking me and I was genuinely unamused by them... until the man came up and went "bloody hecc, I can't keep these coins straight! Is this one a dime? You know what -- can you just count this out for me?"
And I was like !!!!!! they're ACTUALLY British!!!! and got super excited xD it's extremely rare to meet someone interesting in rural WV lol

That's so funny. Why are people always like that when someone comes with BE? There's even bullying among them in England, that those in the south regard the Northerners as peasants with their dialect... We were always insisted on speaking and writing BE at school, much to the frustration of my grandmother, who is actually from America. xD
Same with French, we have to speak French-French, not Belgian French.
And ahaha poor Grandma xD y'all just yeet random U's into everything

oh yes i change theater and theatre so often because they both seem right and both seem wrong at the same time haha
I think I usually go theater if I'm talking about going to a movie theater but write it as theatre if I'm going to a live play

That´s a neat explanation, make the re a bit more "elegant"
The re is typical French. Since BE is influenced by German / Germanic and French I always have the impression that AE is the updated version of BE. Now I´m interested in Australian English.
mm yeah that makes sense @ScarlettFire we need answers

It's rare that I hear someone from Australia speak, and the last time I heard someone was someone from a video game and it sounded a bit like Northern English Dialect.

Valid. I'm sure it's probably just a caricature but that was my earliest impression of Australia lol that and Kangaroo Jack xD I loved both of those movies as a kid
