YWS has been buzzing with its members over the past week. Why? Because the YWS'tival has taken place and thrilled all of us. It's been extremely entertaining, and everyone who organised the events deserve a pat on the back. As well as everyone who turned up to the events and made them as good as they were!

One event was about the best poem you have ever read one YWS. It couldn't have been your own. A lot of poems were nominated. Whoever got nominated, well done, I'm very sure you deserve it.

Another Event which took place was the Flash Fiction Frenzy. The title is interesting enough on its own. I asked Cadi what this event was all about:

Flash Fiction Frenzy was a chat event where we challenged members to write flash- and micro-fiction pieces to prompts plucked from Jabber's brain! It was lots of fun, both challenging people and being challenged myself, though I was terrible at writing the pieces myself

It sounds fun! An example by Cadi herself:

Emily was ever so excited as her mother led the way into Port Littleton's only pet shop. This had to be the best day of history, because today she would choose a brand new puppy!
"Which is your favourite? Point for me." Mama said.
"Cute, fluffy one!" Em grinned.

She claims she failed the challenge she was set: In 50 words EXACTLY -- Write about someone adopting a new pet. CHALLENGE: Don't repeat any words!

She repeated 'the' but otherwise? A great attempt! :D

Overall, the YWS'tival was a very good event. Most of the YWS population must have turned up! Who would have wanted to miss that? This should definately be an annual thing.

To end this article, I'll leave with a quote that I believe is one of the most smart things ever said:

Sometimes, 100 words alone really do tell 1,000.

This quote was made by JabberHut.
"Be courageous and try to write in a way that scares you a little."
