So, now that we're on our way, it is time to talk plot.

Here is what I see the overall plot being:

1. There is a major battle between YWS and the Conquerers. The Conquerers attempt a brute force attack, and are defeated, but not decisively so.

2. After the battle, a special mission is given. More information is needed on the Conquerers to defeat them. A task force is assigned to capture a CTG ship as well as any prisioners in order to gain information. This will feature the first ship-board combat, which will be extremely brutal.

3. After they get the information, they realize that YWS is in serious and immediate danger, so they move to stop the Conquerer's plans.

As for how this is accomplished...

Since the majority of the members are working aboard the Banhammer and the Highwind, it makes sense to make them the center of the story. Members aboard other ships will have specialized missions that will make them useful to the group, but we'll be reacting to Hunter and Adam for the most part.

Here are some suggestions for specialized missions.

DFA Banhammer: Attack and disable target ship, using fighters.
SPEW Gryphon II: Carry the Intelligence Specialists (Adelaide and Suzanne respectively.)
Wandering Hangman: Transport a back-up assault team that will board the ship.
YWS Highwind: Transport a team of CCF Assassins to assault the ship.
SPEW Abysmal Claw: A second squadron (AI controlled, unless we get volunteers.) to guard against the unexpected.

If you have something special in mind, just post it here and we'll see about incorporating it into the story.

Transport! Woo!

Random question: When I earn a new star, do I just make the change in my profile or is there some kind of formality to go through?

Yay! I made something that shows exactly how much free time I have! Well, I'll use it even if no-one else does, but if anyone else finds it helpful then I'll try to keep it up-to-date.

Warning: It does require Microsoft Word to open.

I stopped just short of having Grif read the orders because I'm not sure what you guys want the Gryphon to do. Suzanne and Adelaide are both there for intelligence purposes, so we could easily join the Highwind. However, we could just as easily join a task force with some of the other ships.

So what do you guys say?

Okay, so here is what I was thinking.

First, the whole business about the fighters returning to the Highwind while there are still targets about. This was unintentional I'm sure, but now that it is in the story, why don't we keep it there and have some consequences for that action?

Adam will be angry with his pilots and his first instinct would be to throw them out an airlock for leaving a combat area. However, he realizes he can't throw his pilots out the airlock because he needs them. So he decides to punish them instead.

The idea I had was that after combat has ceased, the fighters get thrown on auto-pilot back to the Highwind. This is a major blow to a pilot's ego because they can't do any victory rolls or anything. They become a passenger where they used to be a pilot. When they get to the hanger, Adam is waiting for them. He promptly dresses them down for leaving while there was still a threat to the entire fleet. They're in trouble until their next mission, where they'll get a chance to redeem themselves.

What do you think?

Sounds good, I did want to flush them out of an airlock when I read the posts anyway. :D
