Tasha nodded an affirmation and threw the stick as far as she could into the forest, her dog disappearing through the trees after it.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
She nodded and pushed herself to her feet with a muffled grunt before kicking out the fire with some minor difficulty. Bane came bounding back as she did this, stopping by her side.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
She followed him, albeit slowly, and with a notable limp. Despite the rather tense expression on her face she didn't utter a sound nor speak a word to betray her pain. She did not want to be carried.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
James looked back at her, noticing her pace, and kept his walk to what felt like a slow crawl. At this rate, it would take half a day to reach Ari and Amy.
Her dog wove between them, often disappearing into the trees only to come bounding back a few minutes later.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
James looked back at Tasha. He knew she wouldn't tell him if she was in too much pain to carry on, or if she needed help. He could tell she was determined to fight her way through the pain to 'gain back' whatever pride was lost, or just to not lose more, but in any case, he was keeping an eye on her.
They stopped for rests every now and then, and as they started approaching the river, James began to wonder how quickly they would find Amy and Ari. From what he knew, Amy had a nose on her, and Bane could be useful as well. He led them to a stop when they could see the flowing river up ahead.
"They should be close," he said to Tasha. "Let's take a rest."
Tasha nodded and sat down against a tree, secretly relieved. She wasn't sure how much longer she could go on. "You didn't get a rendezvous location from Ardeshir and the wer, did you?"
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
James slowly looked back at Tasha, noting that she looked tired. He probably pushed her too hard. "It was... a generic location. It's hard to specify an exact location if we're not meeting in the city, which I figured would be unwise to do considering my being wanted and everything else. I'm hoping Amy's nose will lead her to us."
Spoiler! :
HMMm wanna skip over to Ari and Amy maybe? idk if you'd want to? they probably just ran and slept in the forest.... lol
"Bane," she whistled, and the dog came racing to her and sat at her feet. "Wer. Go hunt."
The dog's nose hit the ground instantly and she began to course over the ground, tail in the air as she began to track down a scent.
Spoiler! :
We could, but I dunno if they'd be doing much, tbh
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
OH!..... YEAH LOL, maybe Bane and Amy could just find each other sniffing
Amy led Ari through the forest with her nose to the ground as she sniffed out James and Tasha. To her surprise she started smelling something else... she looked up.
Wolfsbane uttered sharp bark as she caught the scent of the werewolf she sought, the yip echoing through the woods and eliciting a small smile from Tasha.
"She's found them," Tasha says. "Bane, triangulate."
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
Ari shook his head. "Nope, nuthin'. He don' keep pets 'cept he named a horse one time. Elliot, I think."
Bane cast out and started pinpointing Amy's location.
