Caralina clenched her teeth, squeezed his hand, and pushed again. She did her best to keep from yelling, but it didn't always work.

"You doing good, honey." Sterling said stroking her face.

"Dont. Tell. Me. How. I'm. Doing." She ground out. "You. Don't. Know." She saw something flash across his face, but she didn't care. She pushed again and clutched his hand tighter.

"Push again, Caralina." The doctor said. She wanted to yell at him, but when she pushed pain flew through her body and she screamed clutching Sterling's hand tighter. It seemed like hours flew by as she pushed.

"This kid better come!" SHe growled as she pushed again getting tired.

"Almost, love." Sterling smiled down at her. She could tell he seemed worried.

"Once more, Caralina." The doctor replied. She clenched her teeth and pushed again her whole body seemingly stiffining up. She heard her baby cry as she slumped against the bed still holding Sterling's hand, but not as tightly. "It's a boy."

"See, I told you." She smiled up at Sterling. "He's gonna look like you too."

Sterling stared at her for just one moment and saw his son, the baby was so tiny. He watched Lina's pale exhausted face. Then Sterling did something he didn't even do on a crime scene... He fainted.

Caralina was sitting on the hospital bed nursing her son when Sterling came to.

"Welcome back." She smiled at him as she stroked their baby's black hair. He had a head full of hair, and the bluest eyes. She couldn't wait to see if they stayed that color or if they changed to another color.

"What happened?" He asked rubbing his hands over his face.

"You took one look at this little guy and passed out." She replied, she decided not to say fainted sense it might offend him, but it meant the same thing. "You were out long enough for them to get him cleaned off."

Sterling saw Lina in the bed with her son in her arms. Their son. Sterling looked at the baby he was so tiny... But then again so was Lina. The baby had bright blue eyes and black full head of hair.

Sterling didn't know what to say he was so shocked. "He's... He's uh beautiful." Sterling said sticking his hands in his jean pockets. "I'll be right back." Then he left the room.

Caralina bit her lower lip and felt tears pricking at her eyes.

"It's ok, baby." She whispered at their son.

"Caralina, can you fill these forms out?" The doctor asked.

"What are they?" She asked looking at the doctor.

"Birth cirtificate stuff." He replied handing her the clip board. She shifted their little boy in her arms and held the clipboard. "I'll comeback and get it in a few minutes."

"Thanks." She whispered. She looked down at the form filling in ever spot but his name. She wanted Sterling to help wtih the name. But when he didn't show up she slowly started writing a name.

Sterling Colton She took a deep breath as the doctor walked in and she handed him the clipboard.

"Have you seen my husband?" She asked.

"No." he replied.

"Thanks, if you see him send him in here please." She whipsered.

Sterling walked out of the flower shop with a large bank of flowers. He smiled because he knew she'd like them. His son was now in the world and it was time to celebrate. Sterling walked into the room and saw her cuddling the baby.

"Here you go, beautiful... These are for you." he smiled settling the rose's on her lap.

Caralina looked at the flowers and tears welled up in her eyes.

"Those are good tears, right?" He asked sitting next to her.

"Good and bad." She whispered. "Good cause you can't believe how much that means. Bad c-c-cause....."

"What?" He asked looking at her his eyes looking worried. She pointed to the papers next to the bed holding her baby close. Would he be mad at what she did? The doctor had wanted the papers then. She had to.

**I gotta go to Wal-mart I'll be back in a few**

Sterling took a good look at the papers. Sterling Colton. Simple... It was his name and he hated his own name but now that it too belonged to his first born son. He loved it.

"I hope it's OK. I mean you were gone and-"

"Lina. It's fine. I love it." he said. It had been easy saying he loved the name but he was still trying to utter the words that he loved her. He loved his son too. "Thank you, Lina. For giving me my son." he planted a kiss on top of her forehead.

Caralina nodded. "Want to hold him?" She asked looking at him.

"I don't want to hurt him." Sterling said looking at their baby.

"You won't." She held Colton up and Sterling slowly took him and head him close to his chest. Caralina smiled and laid her head down. It was such a perfect site, father holding son.

"He's so small." Sterling said looking at her. She laughed.

"He's big for a newborn." She replied with a smile.

"But he's so tiny." He let Colton latch onto his finger as he looked down at him.

ugh I gotta go again**

Sterling's heart pounded in his chest. His child was so tiny, he wasn't ready to be a father, what if his son hated him? How was he suppose to feel if that problem did make a huge bump in the road?

"He's so small. I don't know how to take care of some one this tiny." Sterling paniced.

"I'll teach you." she smiled.

At that moment everything fell into place.

**Couple of Days Later**

Caralina sat in the rocking chair rocking Colton on her lap as she smiled down at him. "How are you doing, sweetie. Did you sleep well?" She hummed softly as he looked up at her with his big blue eyes just watching her.

"I'm home." She heard Sterling call from the front door. She looked back and smiled.

"Hi. Colton just woke up." She stood up and smiled down at their son. He was so small and precious. "Hold him for a sec while I go check on dinner." She handed him to Sterling who still held him like he was a piece for very very thin breakable glass.
