I rolled my blank eyes in annoyance as Cailan pulled me behind his back, as if there was danger. I didn't need him to defend me, but whatever. I began to panic when he suggested that this girl-who later introduced herself as Trini- be my partner. Yay. Another girl. I could barely handle one, but two? I began to sweat. Girls made me nervous as hell, a fact I was too embarrassed to admit out right but was true nonetheless. I don't know why they did, they just did. They scared the living bejeezers out of me.
I forced a smile at Trini, my armor suddenly heavy. I wasn't used to wearing something so uncomfortable, and it nearly made me topple over. I was tired of falling, though, and managed to make myself stay upright. "I'd, um, love to have you as a partner, Trini." I mumbled, my voice sounding as dead as usual. I ran a hand through my greasy hair, which would always stay greasy no matter how much I washed it. I suddenly wished I was out of this armor and back in my mom's old dingy green jacket, the one I always wore no matter what but hadn't been able to fit over or under the armor. I sighed heavily, then plastered the smile back on my face. Cailan's words raced as thoughts in my mind, chasing each other. He was right. I may not be able to become a warrior like the others, but I couldn't just sit back and not try. I was going to do Deathball, as long as Emi wanted me as her partner still and wasn't mad at me for potentially ditching her. My smile became genuine as my thoughts focused on Emi and her voice appeared, talking to me from my right and so close she made me jump and give a shout of fright.

Emi

"Thank goodness I found you Timothy!" Emi said as she walked up to the group of people. Timothy jumped as Emi spoke. "Sorry" she said "I didn't mean to startle you but I'm just so glad that I finally found you. I thought you had ditched me but you wouldn't do that right?" Timothy just looked down at the ground. "Timothy, what's wrong?" Emi asked him. Timothy responded by mumbling something along the lines of "I don't think I'll participate in deathball anymore." "Ohh" was Emi's first response. "Well" she said as she looked for something to say. "Well, if you won't play deathball, then I guess there's no point in me playing either, so I'll just hang out with you today instead." Despite what she said it was apparent to everyone that Emi was dissipionted and still wanted to play deathball.

Avalon Springwater | Son of Ceres

I decided to pick someone before the match starts. I noticed Emi looked disappointed, so I took the chance to ask her myself. I went to Emi and asked, "If he won't play, how about you be partners with me?"
I heard a Hades boy shout, "You won't last five minutes in the game, Farm Boy!"
I called back, "I'll be sure to shoot you first! I don't just take after my mother, thank you!" Although I was in camp for two years, most of the campers don't know me very well at all. Just because I harvest on impulse doesn't mean I can't be a sharp shot. My father was a hunter by his own trade, but always made sure he didn't miss what he was aiming at. He taught me how to shoot and made me a sharp shot when using a gun. I was ready to surprise the campers with what I can do besides harvesting. They won't call me Farm Boy for long.
Look down and show some mercy if you can.
Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.

Hey guys, make your way to the armory/battlefield!

Lynette Milliron-Armory

Xander seemed really embarrassed to have me fixing his armor, but he was kinda cute with his head burried in his hands to hide the appearing blush. After I had it all straight, Xander flashed me a smile.

"Thank you, Lyn." He said.

I froze momentarily. There was something different about this smile. For some reason, it seemed more genuine than all the others. I hadn't even noticed the slight fakeness about the others until this one. It shone brightly, showing off his perfect white teeth with some kind of weird purpose. I flush. Again.

"No problem." I looked down at my armor, pretending to adjust my silver wear.

He stands and waits for me, like any gentlemen. He seems alot more relaxed then he did this morning, or even ten minutes ago. I smile softly up at him, and we both grab a paintball gun. We get to the field early, because most people are either scrabbling around for partners or just beginng to get to the armory. Chiron nodds at us, tossing us both blue head scarves. Blue. A color I could deal with. I tie my hair in a ponytail and push the head scarve around my head. Xander simply puts it around his neck. I honestly don't know how I was going to perform with him looking that cute. Wait...what the heck? Xander was Kiara's half-brother, the girl who was probably mad at me for not seeking her out this morning. Plus, I hardly knew him! I take a deep breath, trying to talk sense into myself the only- helpful- way I knew how- with war talk. I talk strategy for a few minutes- not enough to bore Xander, but enough to help us through the game understanding each other.

"You ready for this?" Xander asks as I finish my talk. He seems generally, well helped, and I'm thankful.

"Never been more ready."

He nodds, the blue kerchief around his neck bobbing with his head. Most of the kids were on either side of the field- to my chagrin, alot of them wore colors that signified a team. The few straglers hurried to the side of their favor. Chiron looked around, stating a few key rules that we all know. I put my hand out for Xander to high-five and he does. I lean down, getting my muscles taut. I don't think I've ever been this excited for a game of deathball. Chiron finishes with the rules, pulling the whistle to his lips.

"Go!"

I dive behind the nearest rock, hoping Xander was nearby. The field was littered with piled high rocks, minature shacks, and the occasional unhappy tree. I cock my gun, aiming to hit one of the Venus kids. I hit her with ease and she whimpered off the field. Way too easy. I will my gun to change the paintball to blue and smile. This would be such fun.

Paintball has started. You can still play without a teaming, but please go to the DT so I can keep track of current teamings. If I haven't given you a color yet, just pick a random one nobody would ever pick!
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

~Trini Marks- Apollo

The few voices gained intensity, and my slight movements put the two figures, one more than the other, on edge. I slipped my paper and pencil into the same part of my armor I always did, right between the breastplate and myself.I found it sort of funny that someone could be scared of me, unless , of course, they had already fallen victim of one of my plots for revenge. The blonde boy, who I have only seen, never talked to, seemed rather protective of the other guy (who I assumed was blind from the brail book in his arms.) I liked that, and hey, he was kinda cute, and looked sweet ; but the sight of him with a knife, ready to use, pushed my fear from nonexistent to spiraling.

"Who's there?" He demanded. I sent down a worried look, hoping he wouldn't throw the knife.I guess he saw me, because he quickly lowed his knife, and my heart-rate slowed once more.

"Hey, what are you doing up there?" I don't know what it was about him , but I wanted to talk to him, he just gave off this comfortable feeling I wasn't used to. A part of my liked it, while another part wanted to stay silent and stay in my little niche. I guess the eager part won.

"Umm... looking around I guess." I put on a nervous smile when I leaped from my comfortable spot into a standing position in front of the protective one, one hand over my lower chest to secure my drawings. I glanced them over out of habit.

"So, are you going to be in the Deathball match?" He asked, starting a conversation. My guards were still fully up, just because someone seems nice and sweet doesn't mean they are nice and sweet.

"Yeah, but I don't have any partner yet." I answered, I was sort of hoping he would ask me, it seemed like he would , but his reaction confused me.

"Well, you can join Timothy here if you want. He's... well, he already has a partner, but I don't think the others will mind if you join them." He gestured at the boy, Timothy and half dragged him closer to me. I blinked, it was half exciting and half disappointing.

Timothy looked a bit off, awkward maybe. I'm sure that he felt way less comfortable with the conversation than either of us. Timothy looked young , a good few years younger than me, and the other, looking more closely , now looked as if he served as an older brother to him. Like Zack. I forced back memories and tears of the years before I escaped to camp, and almost broke down. Thankfully, the silence was broken.

"Anyway, I'm Cailan." Cailan extended his hand, I smiled and shook his hand as I replied.

"Trini."

"We better hurry up before the game starts without us!" Cailan pressed. All three of us began to make our way. We were walking for a few minutes when I finally decided to make conversation.

"I'm A daughter of Apollo, and you?" I wanted to keep it safe, rather than get into a deep conversation with two people I barely knew.

"Pluto" Timothy replied first , It wasn't that surprising , he looked like a son of Pluto , or Hades. I had always had a connection with them for some reason.

"Poseidon " Cailan Spoke up.I froze instantly, but kept walking and tried to appear unfazed. I'm pretty sure my attempt failed more than I thought. I had always been scared of water. Always.

"Oh. . " I managed to let out in a small breath. I was nervous, not only because I had just met to random people I have never met before and then started walking with them like I had known them all my life, but now I felt a little twinge of fear rushing at the thought of Cailan being Poseidon's son. I tried to change the subject, but instead began rambling about random things off of the top of my head, without thinking. When I finally realized I was doing so , I ended with a simple "Sorry." then added "I talk a lot when I'm nervous" under my breath.

Thankfully , a small girl , who looked the same age as Timothy appeared. I was mentally slapping myself for being so dumb in the conversation that I only caught some of their conversation.

"I don't think I'll participate in deathball anymore." I heard Timothy say. I knew it was because of me and the fact he would be playing blind. I hated that. I couldn't help but feel a little insecure. I focused on my feet as another person spoke. I wanted to draw, I always did when I was thinking, but I wouldn't dare show anyone, I kept to myself and half listened to everything.

"No, if you want to play I don't wanna disappoint. Um, would you mind helping me over to the battlefield?" I asked timidly, resisting the urge to take a step back even though my heart thudded with how close she was. The last time I'd ever had a girl this close to me was back on the streets of New York, and that had been a rather...lustful...friend of my mother's before I had made my way to camp. I blinked, jumping again when Emi grabbed my hand with a small squeal and led me to the battlefield before pulling me behind a rock. My heart continued to thud as Emi thrust a paintball gun into my hand, mumbling battle strategies to me under her breath. I listened as best I could as she explained that we would use military code-words to help me shoot, such as "Venus three o' clock," or "Hades, five o' clock." She slammed a helm with a plume on the top on my head and tied something around my neck before firing a round at some-- of course for me unseen-- camper. I took a deep breath, ready for my first ever game of DeathBall. At Emi's call of "Demeter, two o' three!" I ducked out from behind the rock and shot, hoping I hadn't missed and hoping like hell I hadn't just made a completely idiotic shot.

After breakfast, I handed Collen over to Willow, a nymph that was normally Collen's babysitter, and then went to my cabin to clean my breakfast off myself. I ended up having to take a brief shower to get the syrup out of my hair. Afterwards I got ready for DeathBall. I put my hair in a quick, high pony-tail, pulled on a t-shirt that said Kickin' godly butt, some old jeans (that had magical thread sown into it and acted some-what like armor), and my awesome, butt-kickin' purple combat boots. To finish it all up, I strapped on my combat, fingerless gloves (also made out of the same marital as the jeans).

I was ready.

I went down to the Field of Mars and got my aquipment. A breast-plate, shield and gun. Chiron handed me a purple scarf and I wrapped it around my neck. After explaining the rules, Chiron blew the whistle and we were off. First things first: find a good base to shoot from, and I knew just the place. It was a place I had stumbled on last year when I was here, playing DeathBall. It's an area that had four or five trees, close together were you could shoot from, but be a hard target for anyone else. It also had a nice-sized boulder, that protected your back. It was a perfect place. The only problem? Someone else had gotten to it before I did. And I didn't even see the person until I had practically ran into him.

Both of us spun around and faced each other with our guns cocked and ready. It was Avalon. We stood there, looking one another up and down, tense and ready. And then I lowered my gun, and he lowered his. I think we had the same idea. We were both alone, while other people had teams out there, ready to cover their back. If we joined up, we would have a greater chance.

"Want to be partners?" Avalon extended his hand.

I nodded. "Two is better then one." I put my hand in his and we shook. "Now," I said, getting my best booty-kickin' look on, "lets go paint some people."

Hope this ok RedFang!

Mason | Battlefield.

Mason offered Kiara a quirky grin, gently shaking her pale hand. Off in the distance, lightning boomed. Mason raises his eyes to the sky and smirked, taunting Zeus to do something. Anything. Sadly, the ground rumbled softly but firmly. The thunder stopped immediately. It seems 'Daddy' actually cares enough to save my ass. Mason thought bitterly as he retraced his hand from Kiara's and shook his coal hair out of his eyes.

"We need to go, then. Come on, and hurry." Mason ordered as he ducked into the opening of the woods. With an abundant sigh, Kiara followed him. Her feet drifted amongst the ground lightly, hardly crushing any leaves. Whereas Mason was scaring off any wild life with his stomps and crushes.

"Why hurry?" The petite girl asked.

"We need to get you to safety. Everyone at camp hates my guts, and they sill team up on me. I want to make sure you're safe." Mason said absently as he peered around the base of a large redwood. Only after clearing the are did he allow Kiara to continue walking.

Kiara seemed to bristle this words. "I can take care of myself."

"You say that now." He offers her a cocky smirk, his green eyes dancing playfully. She rolled her eyes and stomped ahead of him. "Woah, hey now, slow down!"

"Hurry up!" Kiara snapped frustratedly.

Mason raised an eyebrow curiously. "Yes ma'am." He darted ahead of her and began to scout the pathway again, checking for enemies.

"You're so dramatic." Kiara muttered.

"He sure is." Mason whirled to the left and raises his hands defensively. While Kiara carried a paint gun, he chose to fight with his Demi-god powers.

In front of him was a shadow, a mass of swirling energy, residing between the darkness of two big trees. Mason waved his hands, banishing the shadows and having them evaporate into the morning air. Nino grinned cheekily at Maskn, his cyan-blue eyes flashing mischievously.

"I didn't hear or sense you there until you spoke. Nice job." Mason admitted honestly, but fixed his brother with a stern glare. "Friend or foe?"

"Well, Cap'n, lemme contemplate. I say aye, Cap'n. Aye aye!" Nino mocked Mason with a salute.

"I take that as a yes. Let's go." Mason growled and jerked a thumb backwards to Kiara. "Go. Guard her back."

"Protecting the princess from the vultures." Nino murmured, flashing Kiara a crooked grin and standing a respectful distance behind her.

"I'm not a princess." Kiara exclaimed at the same time as Mason said "They're not vultures; they're princes for the maiden. Surely some beast will come along and sweep Princess Fiona off her fat, slimy feet."

"You're an ass." Nino laughed so hard he doubled over and clutched his stomach.

"No offense." Mason shot Kiara a sexy wink, which she ignored. He smirked and pointed up to a medium-sized tree with thick sized branches, perfect to sit and stand on. "Kiara, you go up there. That is, if you're too chicken. That'll be the day, a child of Zeus, afraid of heights."

(I dunno how to end it, so you take it away Chi. Is she afraid? :D and yes Niko is cocky like Mason but he's nicer.)

Ignorance - Hehe, nope she isn't. But, I have to say, she won't have answered back to most of what Mason and Nino had said. She would be more likely to just let her anger build up, and then finally say/do something.

Wait, did Mason and Kiara even arm themselves with the guns or get themselves the scarves? Ahh... I'll just write like they did get them. Tell me if I'm wrong, okay?

Kiara - Zeus

Kiara pursed her lips, not answering as she quickly climbed the tree, and settled down on the lower branches so that she could see the surrounding. She watched as Mason and Nino picked up there paint ball guns and marched straight into the battleground.

She eyed the battleground around. It was now full of people running all around, covering behind rocks and shooting paint-balls.

She steadied herself and aimed her gun, trying to pick a target. She knew that anyone who paid the slightest attention to her tree would notice her from her long, golden hair.

Kiara picked out the girl she knew only as the Aphrodite girl, and primed her gun, her small hand shaking with nervousness. Then she pulled the trigger. But just as the paint-ball released from her gun, the girl ducked around a rock and the paint-ball splattered onto it.

Not worrying about it, she turned her gun to another girl who was near her, and pulled the trigger. The paint ball hit squarely on the girl's chest and she, after looking around trying to spot her attacker, left the field, muttering under her breath.

Smiling slightly, she glanced back at Mason and Nino. They were shooting paint-balls at anyone who got close. They seemed to have spread out, covering each others backs. Mason looked back at her, and winked. Kiara turned away concentrating on the battleground again.

Just ask took aim, a paintball shot pass her, missing her only by a few millimeters.

"That was close." She voice out loud, swinging her gun to whomever had shot her. It was Cailan. He grinned at her and winked. This wink was a lot more different than the one Mason had given her. Kiara smiled and aimed her gun at him. She knew that he had missed on purpose, and that she would never actually shoot him. But she pulled her trigger all the same as he dived behind a rock.

She laughed softly, but her concentration immediately diverted to a group of people whom were now converging on Mason and Nino.

She aimed her gun at the people, but her vision was obstructed by several branches of the tree. She climbed down gently, and hid behind a rock, pointing her gun at them. She was about to pull the trigger, when some else started raining paint balls on them.

Kiara glanced at Mason, who was now sneaking off making use of the distraction. She was about her turn her attention back to taking out the other people, when she saw two people following Mason. One was a complete stranger to her, a kind of emo looking guy, and the other was Xander.

Ignorance - Hope this is alright.

*I'll post Cailan after Tiger says if Cailan can become Trini's partner.

Jedidiah~ Apollo

So now it was me, Mia and Alken on a team, and we were gonna do some serious butt-whopping around here. I was glad that I had found Mia, we were old time buddies and it was good to see her again. I felt really bad for her about her mom. Poor kid. And I completely understood where she was coming from about her dad, I HATED my dad too.

After a few minutes, Alken walked up to me and told me that he had "fixed" the guns. I smiled. He cast a suspicious glance towards Mia and continued, "They're on the very top shelf in the armory. Up high and in the right corner, and they have a small strip of duct-tape on them, that's so you know it's them," He whispered, still keeping an eye on Mia.

"Thanks, man. Oh, and this is Mia, she's on our team."

"Oh, alright," he shook her hand. "You didn't tell me, I don't have a gun for her," he whispered out of the side of his mouth to me.

I shrugged, "That's alright. She's a tough girl, she can handle herself without a gun."

"Well I suppose we should start heading towards the battle field and get ready," Mia said and we all started walking in that direction.

"Jed! Wait up!" I heard someone yell from behind me and I turned to see Jean running after me, her mysterious silver hair flying out behind her. I wonder what she wanted, last time I talked to her she was practically begging me to leave. But I stopped and told the other two to go ahead and get ready.

Jean caught up to me and said, "I..uh..here." She handed me a bundle wrapped in rope.

I took the bundle from her and untied it. Inside was my sword, but perfect. No bents, stratches or rust. And it lookes so sharp, and it balanced perfectly. "Wow, thanks, Jean, it looks as though the gods themselves made it." Thunder rumbled in the distance. I ignored it. I glanced at the sky and the sun told me that it was almost time for DeathBall, I had better go or I'd miss it. "Well, I have to go play Deathball. Could you hold on to this for me?" I handed the sword to Jean, I knew I could trust her to take care of it.

She nodded, "I'll be rooting for you."

I smiled, "Thanks again for the sword," I gave her a quick side hug and then sprinted for the battle field.

Back at the Field of Mars, I was just able to grab my scarf and gun before the whistle blew. I met up with Mia and Alken and we lurked through the woods, shooting down anyone we met. Finally, I saw him. Mason. Another group was already on him and it seemed as though they had him cornered. I frowned, Mason was MINE. Suddenly the gun fire stopped shooting at Mason, I guess the people behind it were occupied with someone else.

While the people were busy, I caught sight of Mason sneaking off. "I'm going after him, cover me." I said to my team mates, and then took off after my enemy.

After a few seconds of waiting behind our base, and seeing no one, I decided that maybe it wasn't the best idea to have a fort like this. Maybe it was good protection, but I felt like a sitting duck, and having ADHD didn't help. Just as I was about to suggest to Avalon that we should move out to find some action, a group of people came out from the trees. From the looks of it, two Hades kids and a girl with blond hair. Me and Avalon started shooting at them, but all our paintballs hit was wood. Suddenly, another group of people came out and also started firing at Mason and them. Dozens of balls were hurling toward Mason now and he was forced to take cover. I got an idea. "Avalon, stop firing." I told him imidiately. He looked confused but stoppped. "I don't think that group knows we're here. While they're busy shooting Mason, we'll sneak up behind them and give them a little suprise."

He grinned and we both silently got up and made our way around the group. Now the group was pinned between me and Avalon and Mason. "Shoot fast and then hide," Avalon whispered. I nodded.

Then I said, "Now!" And we both turned and fired.

BlueRaspberry - Just post something and we'll pick your character up along the way. :D

Cailan - Poseidon

Cailan watched as Emi dragged Timothy away. He then turned to Trini, who was staring at the ground, twisting her ankle against it. A part of his mind thinking how cute she looked, he spoke,

"Hey, you said you didn't have a partner right? So, I'm kind of partner-less. So... you want to be my partner?" He asked, almost feeling shy. He mentally gave himself a shake. 'How could I be shy around girls?'

She glanced up, her eyes wide as if she couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"You... I... partner." She stammered. Cailan calmly waiting until she was recovered.

"Of course, I'd love to be your partner." She finally said, blushing.

Cailan smiled and nodded once.

"Okay, now let's get to game before it starts, or there would be no one left to shoot at." He said, and took Trini's hand, and dragged her alonghalf walking, half running out of the forest, while the other part of his mind focused on the warmth Trini's small hand in his.

They grabbed two paint-ball guns and took the red scarves from Chiron, as Emi grabbed two grey scarves and tied one around Tim's neck. Cailan tied his own around his wrist while Trini glanced at hers and pocketed it, pointing out red bandanna around her head to Cailan.

Chiron blew his whistle, and they both ducked around one of the trees that were dotted around the battlefield. Cailan saw Emi and Timothy duck behind a rock, as Emi shouted out military commands to Timothy.

"Watch out!" Trini cried out as a girl from Demeter cabin came running at us, pointing her gun at us, just Emi cried out, ""Demeter, two o' three!" to Timothy.

Cailan saw Timothy pull the trigger. The grey paintball hit straight on the shoulder of the girl, making her stomp out of the field, cursing.

Cailan didn't have time to be amazed as paint-balls came in from all directions. He ducked at aimed his gun at a person from Ares who was targeting Trini. The paintball from Cailan's gun hit straight on the hand of the guy, making him jump around in pain, and finally leave the field.

Cailan high-fived Trini, and searched for a potential target. Then he saw the long golden hair within the leaves and branches of a tree. Immediately knowing whom it was, he crept towards the tree, signalling Trini to cover him. He aimed his gun at Kiara, who was distrated.

"Now that's a target a sun-blinded dwarf couldn't miss." He thought as he aimed at Kiara's chest. He would never pull the trigger though. For all that mattered, she was his sister. So, aiming slightly to her right, he pulled the trigger. The paint-ball missed her, but at once Kiara pointed her gun at him. Seeing that it was Cailan who had shot her, she smiled her petite smile and then primed her gun. Cailan flashed her a smile and a wink before diving behind a rock to avoid her paint-ball.

Tiger, take it up from here :D
