*I edited my profile a bit and I hope to add another character, if that's okay? :)

Kiara - Zeus's Cabin

The warmth of the sunlight streamed through the window, falling across Kiara's face. She opened her eyes, and quickly shut them against the light. With her eyes closed, she sat up on her bed, and crossed her legs, trying to remember what her dream had been. The pictures were disappearing fast. More faster than she can remember them. Eventually she stopped trying, and opened her eyes.

She looked around her cabin. The only other person whom she shared her cabin with was Xander, and he usually got up a lot earlier than she did. His bed was, as usual messy and empty. Although she knew that both of them shared the same father, he was a lot more different that she was, and she never really understood him enough to be friends with him. A polite smile or a helping hand was all there ever had been between them.

Kiara got up from her bed and straightened it. Then went to her dresser and opened it. Before choosing an outfit, she glanced out the window, making a mental note on the weather and then selected a bright yellow dress with a white collar, and went straight to the bathroom.

Placing the clothes on a holder, she stared into the full length mirror in the bathroom. Her bright blue eyes stared back at her. She frowned at her waist-length, golden hair which was messed up. She took off her night dress and stepped into the shower.

After five minutes, she stepped out of the cabin, wearing her dress and a necklace with a pink heart on it. This had been a gift from her mother for her thirteenth birthday, and she never left the cabin without it.

Now, the only make up she bothered to put on was a pink lip gloss. She felt that that was enough and thought that all other make up was ridiculous.

The minute she went outside, she heard a group of people talking loudly nearby. Or were they fighting? She walked towards them, while carefully noting down the people standing there. She noticed that two girls from the Aphrodite and Ares were right in the thick of it. The girl from Ares, Lyn had been her friend for nearly an year now, and the girl from Aphrodite, Kiara only knew by her appearance.

Carefully avoiding the stares of the Hades kids, she went up to the girls, breathing in the scent of soap and perfume coming from them.

"What's going on?"
Warden: "If you want to lead, all you have to do is ask."
Alistair: "What? Lead? Me? No, no, no. No leading. Bad things happen when I lead. We get lost, people die, and the next thing you know I'm stranded somewhere without any pants."

He blinked at the sound of a new voice, a voice he hadn't heard enough to recognize beyond the fact that whoever it was was yet another female. He blinked again, standing there among my Hades cabin mates and the others. He shrugged, slightly stumbling on a nearby tree root before righting himself again. He perked my ears, listening, but nobody answered her, all busy with the other two bickering girls. He shrugged again. "I think these two girls are fighting, but I'm not really sure because I'm not insightful to the situation." a small grin tugged at his mouth as the lame joke escaped his lips. He wondered what the two girls were fighting over, and decided to listen to them more closely among the other voices.

"Come, Nino. You don't want to catch something from that disgusting child of Zeus, now do you?"

The indifferent tone of a Hades kid reached my ears and my head snapped in his direction. Mason. Figures I thought. Mason was one of the only people who knew my real personality and always tried provoking me, trying to get me to slip up in front of a large crowd. He knew that if he just told someone, no one would believe him, so this was his best chance to out me.

No way in hell, I smirked. He couldn't get me to flick the "off" switch, no matter how much he insulted me. The best way to anger him wasn't to throw an insult, but to ignore him completely. I scanned over the crowd that had gathered, and chuckled when I noticed that it was mostly guys. My eyes stopped upon my half sister, Kiara, talking to a child of Hades. I was angered by that more than by Mason's words.

I turned back to the girls, holding in my swelling anger and putting on another kind smile. "Why are pretty ladies like you two fighting?"

Once he decided that no new things were going to happen, he began to walk away, making sure to side-step the stump but tripping on the edge of it anyway so that he sprawled face-first onto the ground, ripping another hole in his jeans as he did so. He flushed, feeling his cheeks burn as he struggled to get to his feet and heard a male voice laughing. Xander, one of Zeus' kids, must have seen him trip and fall. Timothy scrambled to his feet, continuing to flush as he stood there like an idiot, deciding to maybe not leave the argument after all. He suddenly wanted to see how it ended up turning out.

Emi woke up to the suns rays splashing across her face. She sat up in bed and smiled to herself. Unlike most of the kids at camp, Emi actually liked mornings. She quickly jumped out of her bed and pulled on a blue shirt and a pair of jeans. She sort of fixed her bed by making sure that her pillow wasn't on the floor, then she ran out of the cabin to be greeted by the day. She saw a group of people talking and she decided to head over to them. "Morning everyone!" Emi said in a cheerful voice. Instead of the warm welcome she expected, she was met with stares that seemed to say how can you be so cheerful this early in the morning. Emi was about to leave because she felt that she wasn't wanted, when some kid triped. "Are you ok?" Emi asked the boy in concern.

Timothy turned to her, his milky white eyes blank. "Fine," he mumbled. "I trip all the time." but he had never had anyone actually notice it and not laugh. It made him feel weird inside to have someone ask if he was okay. He shrugged at her, noticing that her silky soft voice was smooth and cheery-it made one part of him wince, but it made the other part of him want to smile. He tilted his head at her, wishing she would speak again so he could hear her melodic voice, even though as a child of Pluto he was supposedly supposed to hate all things cheery. He couldn't help it, though. She was just so bubbly and warm.

Mini Mavor

"Why are pretty ladies like you two fighting?" a Zeus kid asked. I turned away from Lynette and faced him to find a crowd behind him. God forbid.

"God. We are not fighting. No show here. C'est la vie," I said. The crowd began to slowly disappear one by one, leaving the Zeus guy. I turned to him.

"What?" I asked. He just stared at us.

"So... You two weren't fighting?" he asked. I stared at him.

"No. I just met her, that's all," I declared. He looked disappointed. What is with everyone and fighting? Is it entertaining? Wait-- yes.

"But if you want entertainment," I said seductively. I put my hand on his shoulder. "I can give you some."

I could feel Lynette's eyes on me, probably bewildered. My lips curl into a smile as I slid my hand down his arm and back to my side. I know it's morning, but there's always time for my games. I licked my lips and blew a kiss to him before walking away.

I began walking towards the pavilion, my converse shoes scratching against the pebbles on the ground. I stopped to fix my hair a bit. I ran my fingers through my hair, wondering if my little trick worked and made him think of coming back for more. Yes, it might seem wicked, but maybe that's who I am.

"Wait!" I heard behind me.

(That was horrible. I'm sorry, my head is still in school. Loads of drama. But as Mini said "C'est la vie". Could he anyone by the way.)

Avalon Springwater | Outside the Planter's Paradise cabin

I watched the sun rise, feeling warm as I sat there on a hill. I knew when the sun would set and rise, since I intend to harvest what needed to be harvested. Sometimes I wonder what my father really thought about having a demigod for a son, especially when Mom's the goddess of the harvest. I went straight to harvesting ripe berries. I made sure I found the ones that are ripe and left the unripened berries alone. Berries are all I could harvest, since it's basically berry season at this time of year. I put my harvested berries in a compartment to store in case of emergancy, since only the gods know what could happen around camp. I remembered how my father was when I was six. He once said, "Avalon, you really are Ceres' boy. You know the harvest like the back of your hand. I'm real proud of you, son. You have a gift and know how to use it at the right time." I almost choked at this memory. I don't know what happened to my father, but I hope to the gods that he's still alive when I find him. It's been two years since I last saw him, so I wanted him to see how much I've grown when I find him.

Spoiler
*For the record, Avalon thinks his father's missing but doesn't know the latter was alive. Could his cabin-mate give him some comfort, now that he's back in the cabin?*

Paulie (Hermes)

It was pretty lonely this morning, waking up alone in the cabin. Maybe Hermes hasn't been particularly sexually active in the past eighteen years because I've been all alone in the cabin, which isn't really what I'm feeling like right now. I mean, you'd think that it was counter-intuitive to leave a suicidal idiot alone in a cabin by herself. Then I wrenched my mind away from thoughts like that. There were already enough scratches on my inner wrists, forged with a sewing needle into the pale flesh.

I didn't bother to make my bed but threw on a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt, hastily dabbed some mascara onto my pallid eyelashes, and tied the laces on a pair of Nikes. Not exactly a fashion statement, but I didn't really care much. If the airheads from Aphrodite wanted to judge, let them.

Leaving the cabin I saw that plenty of people were already out and about. There were people milling around, and a simpering girl with a makeup plastered face was flouncing towards the pavilion, watched by a handsome looking boy. I followed her slowly.

This was my first day at the camp, and I didn't know what to make of it. I had no friends as of yet, and it was pretty lonely here as far as I could tell. Then there was the revelation, of course, that I wasn't even fully human. I mean, talk about surprises.

I was still musing as I scooped a spoonful of eggs onto my plate and added half a piece of buttered toast. Other kids were dropping part of their food into the fire before they sat down, so I followed suit, pushing a chunk of eggs into the flames.

There was nobody sitting at one end of one of the tables, so I sat down there, pushing my now slightly rubbery eggs around my plate, desire to eat almost forgotten.

"Hey," said a voice, and a kid dropped into the seat next to me.

"Hey Pauliny!" I said as i dropped into my seat. She sighed as she heard my nickname for her again. After a year away, i decided to lay it on thick.

"You know your not supposed to sit at this table. Its the Hermes table. Follow the rules once in a while. And aren't you supposed to be setting up for the paint ball thingy tonight?" She said sarcastically. We both knew i was not one for following the rules, and i never missed out on breakfast. Its the most important meal of the day!

"Aw, whatever. They'll be fine without me. Plus after last years incident..."

"You mean when you set up traps on the other teams side?" She raised her eyebrow.

"Yeah, that.. Well, lets just say their not to keen on letting me help set up again this year." I looked at the floor as i said this. I pretend to feel bad for setting up the traps, but the look on peoples faces were priceless and totally worth any punishment i got. I had considered setting up more traps this year, but i was warned that if i did, some not very nice things would be happening to me throughout the year. Plus, this way i got to eat breakfast and get out of waking up early to set up. Its a win-win situation.

Xander

"But if you want entertainment," the girl said, trying to be seductive. She placed her hand on my shoulder and ran her fingers down my arm "I can give you some."

I wanted to roll my eyes and snap at her, but I knew I couldn't do that. Before turning to walk away, she licked her lips and blew me a kiss. I watched her head off to the pavilion.

Are you kidding me? Did she really think I was that easy to fool? Listen up, Lady, I'm the king of that game! I rubbed my temples and turned to the girl that was left. "Were you really not fighting? She seemed pretty rude..."

The girl shook her head and I smiled. "That's good to hear. See you around camp?"

Before waiting for a reply, I turned on my heals and walked away. Stuffing my hands in my pockets, I tried catching up to the girl who left. The scowl on my face wouldn't budge, but I did manage to lighten my glare a little. "Wait!" I shouted.

"Listen, I don't know what you were trying to pull back there, but I can play games too." She turned around and smirked at me, obviously thinking that her game was successful, and straightened up to faced me. Slowly I walked closer to her, staring her down, breaking down her barriers like I had so many times before.

I ran a finger through her hair and lowered my voice, whispering closely in her ear. "You know, you brought this on yourself." Once again, I backed up before winking and walking away with an amused smile. Maybe this camp would be interesting this year.

Well, way to screw up both my plans in one post. :( Ah well.

Jaiden Vanderbilt

I yawn, jumping out of bed with suprising algility. From the light coming from the window, I would judge it was about ten minutes to late to be getting up. Meaning- I needed to get up. Now. I shrug into a red V-neck and throw on a pair of shorts. Running a brush through my hair, I take a quick look around the cabin. There were only a few kids left in bed, and those were the ones who were up working late last night.

I exit my cabin. There's a few kids in the clearing, and the majority of them were all huddled around in different groupies. Two girls were in the middle of the clearing. One of them, who I recognized as an Aphrodite camper, sends me a...seductive wink? I blink, confused, but her attention is quickly diverted from me by the other camper. What the...? I watch for a moment, noting the group coming around the two girls. Confused, I run back to my cabin and hastily grab one of my step-sisters volumes of 'Pride and Prejudice.' Breakfast could wait. This had potential to be very interesting. I take a spot a few feet from the ever-growing group. Prentending to read, I watch as the group expands, then shrink as the wink girl tells them all to go away. One kid stays behind. The Aphrodite seems to be...well, flirting with the kid. He's probably my age, but doesn't seem to be buying her tricks. She's really pretty, I note. Seductive and proactively dressed, but really pretty. I half wished she was flirting with me. God, Jaiden. I laugh at myself. She walks away, and the boy follows her. Looks like this fight is over. I stand up, slamming the book shut.

I walk back to my cabin calmly, my brain working at a thousand miles a minute. Tossing 'Pride and Prejuidice' back on it's owner's bed, I grab my small film camera. I think I might end up needing it. I start heading towards the breakfast hall, eager for some good blueberry waffles. Still, I can't help it- one eye was looking for the wink-girl.

Lynette Milliron

I was angry. Gods, who could blame me? A bit of an akward greeting with an Aphrodite- cause clearly, that's what she was- was interpreted as a catfight. A bunch of random guys coming up to watch us...what the crap? Then, Mini's seductive flirting with that other kid. Not exactly a good, agreeable to start the morning. Then he walks away from me to go back and flirt with Mini. So, really, who could blame me? When the kid walks away from Mini, a smirk clear on his face, I blew up.

"Who the hell do you think you are?" My words seem a bit bitter, but I was pretty annoyed.

He seems suprised to see me again, a little annoyed. I put my hand on my hip, and he puts on another smirk.

"I'm sorry?"

He looks kinda genuine, and my anger fades. I flush, already embarassed by my outburst. I scratch the back of my head. Well, no way to walk away from it now. I partially hope he would- believing he would- so I could go look for my friend Kiara. Or do something less akward.

"Yeah...urm...I guess I never really caught your name."

Those were lame. :( Sorry, Jaiden seemed kinda stalker-ish. Anyone can jump in for Jaiden if they'd like. Tomorrow- deathball! Check DT for info.

Was I the one who mess up your plan? I apologize! >.<

Xander

I turned around, surprised that the girl I walked away from came after me, angry. I tried to smile, but due to my surprise it probably turned out more like a smirk. Was it just because it was morning? Is that why my on switch wasn't working like it should? I'm supposed to be a charming, princely character! Was I tired still?

"Uh... I'm sorry?" I tried apologizing, but it came out more like a question. It was hard to sound sincere when you're utterly confused on the situation. Her look softened and seemed embarrassed, almost.

"Uh... yeah," she said, scratching the back of her head. "I guess I never really caught your name..."

I smiled again, this time hoping that it looked genuine. "I'm Xander... From Zeus' cabin." I held my hand out for her to shake. "I'm sorry if I seemed rude before? Uh... I just wanted to make sure she wasn't going to harass anyone. I'm sorry for turning away like that."

I tried looking apologetic, hoping that she would buy it. If not, how would I recover from my "on switch" not working?

Haha, it's totally okay!

Lynette Milliron

"Oh...no, it's okay." I took his hand and shaked it firmly. He seemed genuinly different now, a lot more poliet and gentlemen-like. I felt kinda bad for getting him mad. "My fault entirely. Wasn't in a good mood this morning, being woken up to a giant crowd n'everything, and I kinda took it out on you. Sorry." I paused. "I'm Lynette, daughter of Mars."

He nodded, the perfect gentlemen. Kinda weird, but I was to concerned about my own behavior to pick up on it. I mean, really, he hadn't done anything to me that should cause me to freak out like I did. I think I need more sleep.

"Well, Lynette, do you mind if I accompany you to breakfast? Make sure you don't get in anymore catfights?"

Now, normally I would've considered smacking someone if they said that to me, but considering my bad behavior towards him this morning and his light and happily tilting tone I decided in his favor.

"'Corse not. For the record though, It wasn't a cat fight."

"Okay," He smiles in a seemingly sincere way. "I believe you."

"MmHm..." I murmer, not sure whether or not I believed him.

We begin walking towards the dining hall, neither of us saying much. I guess we were both a bit tired.

"So, I guess we depart now?" I ask when we reach the dining hall.

He smiles a bit, from my word choice or something else.

Okay, I'm WAY to tired and brain dead to make a good post. Bye and sorry! You can leave Lyn if you'd like to Miki.

MEG WOODSON / DAUGHTER OF DEMETER

F*ck mornings, I thought as I blinked my eyes open, the unsteady rocking of the slowing car shaking me to consciousness. I ran a hand through my hair and looked out the window. Huge arches loomed over my dad's little Corolla, a gateway into the land of freaks.
A U-shaped formation of cabins encompassed a courtyard with statues of Greek and Roman gods and, at the vertex, there was an ampitheatre sort of thing. Kids and teenagers milled around talking and moving from cabin to cabin, forming little groups.
We'd driven overnight from Arizona to get to this "special circumstances" camp where, supposedly, I would fit in. Pretty much, I just felt like someone with social disabilities. Why had I agreed to this again? Oh yeah, I'm only half a real person. The daughter of Demeter, goddess of gardens and weather patterns. Mother Nature. Would that make me Daughter Nature? Cool. I guess that's why I get venus fly traps growing in my backpack and cold rushes of wind in the middle of the summer. Loving life. Thanks mom.
I looked away with disgust and glanced at my dad, who was gazing at me analytically.
"It's your big day," he said, gauging my expression. He patted me on the shoulder reassuringly.
I couldn't help rolling my eyes. "Joy of joys," I scoffed. "Thrilled to be alive." I grabbed my old soccer bag from under my feet. Since I didn't have a real suitcase or anything, I had a bunch of duffels filled with my clothes and stuff for camp. Thank God I'm not high maintenance.
My dad shook his head at me. "Megs, I know you don't want to be here. I don't know what to tell you. It's this or your old life, moving from school to school, never really settling in--"
I cut him off. "By 'settling in' you mean 'making any friends'. You don't have to sugarcoat my social ineptitude. Dad, if I couldn't manage a social life at any of the half dozen or so schools I've gone to, what makes you think I'll fit in at a place like this?"
Dad rubbed his wrinkled forehead with one hand. "Honey, I would never ask you to change--I love you, no matter how you dress or act or present yourself--but, for some people, you're just too different to assimilate. I just think that maybe here there's more of a chance. Maybe less of a sense of normalcy? Maybe you'll find that you have more things in common with the kids here. All I want is for you to be happy, and if you can't have that here, then you can come home and we'll figure things out."
I sighed, bitter but complacent. "Alright," I huffed, opening the passenger door to get out.
Maybe people here would be too immersed in their own shit to care about the stuff that other people had always seemed to notice about me and criticize me for.
Or not, I thought, looking out of the corner of my eye at some random staring at me.
I was wearing cutoffs, a black tank top, and cowboy boots. Maybe I was wearing a little less than I should, but isn't that pretty normal for girls these days? I shrugged it off, used to being labeled as trampy and easy.
Dad popped the trunk and I pulled out my two other bags. One was a huge duffel with the British flag on it that my best friend Nate brought back from his trip to London, and the other one was a maroon one of my dad's. I swung the big one over my right shoulder and the other two over my left, slamming the trunk and the car door shut.
I leaned in the window to say goodbye to my dad.
"Give it a chance, Meggie," he said, kissing my forehead. "I love you."
"Love you too, daddy." I smiled and waved as he pulled away from the curb.
Whipping out my map of the camp grounds, I started to make my way to the cabin I was assigned to. I could still feel someone watching me as I struggled to keep all the bag straps on my shoulders.

"Wait," shouted a voice from behind me. "Let me help you." ***

***Can be an opening for anybody.***
"You've gotta swim, don't let yourself sink. Just find the horizon, I promise you, it's not as far as you think. The will drag us away from our love. Just keep your head above."
