"Taylor doesn't seem too bad," I muttered.

"He's not," Ghera replied, shrugging. Well, obviously.

We heard rustling in the bushes and spun around to see a woman staring at us--gawking more like it. A tourist? Probably. "Get ready to use your powers," I grumbled. Ghera nodded.

I focused on the woman. Leave now and we won't hurt you.

The woman gawked, but didn't move. I rolled my eyes. "Ready?" I asked Ghera.

She nodded and lifted her hand. Some people just never learned, did they?

Aliri didn't even have to tell me, as soon as I saw the woman my fingers were gettin hot, but what could I do? Burn her up? Not likely.

I looked at Aliricia and thought "Ugh, fire, what a stupid power. What can I do in a situation like this?" hoping that went through and she heard it. She did, from somewhere inside my head I heard, "Just spook her maybe. Torch up your hands. I'll make her think it is a dream."

Torching my hands, that I can do. I can't tell you how I do it, I just can. I just send a little brainwave I suppose, just think about what I want and it happens. It is like a second nature, just something I have always known how to do. Of course, I have gotten more control over it through out the years, but I never learned it. I always just knew.

I lifted up my hands and they lit up in flames, they don't burn me of course. The woman's eyes got as wide as saucers. So big I could almost see my flames reflected in them. I expected her to run away any second, only she didn't. What the heck?

"This woman's got mental issues," I grumbled. I grabbed Gash back and let him slither along the ground towards the woman. Mist started growling at my side. I had sort of forgotten she was there. Oops.

I stroked her lovingly. The woman backed up one step, but that was it. "I think it would be best if you kept backing up," I mumbled.

The lady just looked like a big confused lump, unmoving. Of course she didn't move. Too much shock. I rolled my eyes and took a few steps towards her, pulling out my sword. "I can and will use this," I snarled.

She took another step backwards before turning and running. I turned and grinned at Ghera. "What would you do without me?" I winked.

She laughed and I picked up Gash to start on our way.

"Oh don't be so full of yourself, my flames scared her a little," I said, "I think."

She snickered, "Whatever you say cheif."

"Ahh okay. What adventures has Aliri been up to today?" I asked

She smiled. "Koda and I kidnapped a wise ass from the other tribe. Nothing special."

"You did what!?" I exclaimed.

I snickered. "Chill, he was trespassing. Not like we wandered onto their land just for the thrill of actual abduction."

She sucked in a deep breath. "Trespassing? Again?"

I nodded. What else was new? The other tribe was constantly trespassing. Sure, I crossed boarders despite the elder's warnings, but I avoided their boarders. No, I just crossed the boarders seperating our land from camp-grounds and hiking trails. I had once run into a hiker. I grinned at the memory. Her face was priceless. It had been just after the rumours had started. She tried to pull her camera and I pulled my sword. Let's jus say there was no evidence of her ever seeing me out there.

"We should probably go tell somebody about that woman," I muttered.

Ghera nodded and crossed her arms. I planned on visiting Koda and our newly found prisoner in a bit anyways. Knowing Koda he would use calm methods--and get nothing out of him. Might as well show up and act as back-up.

We were nearing the village already. "Buh-bye my dear friend," I said, waving.

She laughed and flicked her wrist. I turned and made my way towards the prisoner's tent.

I laughed as Koda epically failed to strum my guitar. His hands were way too big to be able to play it well. That was the advantage of having small hands, I could play instruments easy.

"Dude! Don't blooming break it!" I laughed as he continued to try and strum it.

"How on earth do you play it so well, it's like, impossible!" Koda replied, giving me back the guitar and finally giving up.

"What can I say?" I winked. "I'm just so ama-"

Before I had the chance to finish my sentence, Aliri entered the tent, clearly not happy. Whoa, this chick had some anger issues! She looked at Koda before looking to me, then back to Koda. I smiled at her as I began to play my guitar.

"Koda?!" Aliri looked as though she was sucking on a lemon. "He's a prisoner, not some kind of play mate for you!"

She had a point; the whole prisoner thing wasn't very painful for me. In fact, I was having a whale of a time here. I mean, come on, I was away form my prat of a father.

"Chill out, babes!" I laughed, still playing the guitar.

"Will you be quiet!" Aliri hissed. "I swear, if you call me that one more time, you are dead!"

Anger...

I wouldn't mind the other tribe so much if they would stop calling me "babes." It was sickening. I sighed, realizing that I was over-reacting. I would kill to learn guitar.

"Sorry, it's the weather," I grumbled. "Chanta, right?"

The boy raised an eyebrow and nodded. "The weather?"

Koda answered for me. "She gets a tad grumpy when it's hot outside," he snickered. I glared at him.

"Mind if I take a crack at that thing?" I asked.

"I thought you said that I wasn't a play mate."

I rolled my eyes. "Hand it over," I grumbled. He did and I started to strum a bit. I was better than Koda, at least my hands weren't huge and oafish. It didn't sound beautiful or anything, but oh well. Maybe I could force him to teach me or something. I chuckled.

"What was that all about?" Chahta asked skeptically.

I didn't answer, just threw the guitar back at him. He caught it--go figure. I chuckled and sat down on a chair in the corner.

I left my rather boring co worker to observe on her own. I decide to look around myself. Tamara handed me a candy cane so I could suck on it as we trudged through the forest. I wished I was in my lab where it smelled like chemicals, guts, and sugar. Here it smelled like nature and animal droppings.

I bit off a chunk of the candy cane and chewed the fragments crushing them into a fine minty powder. That's when I saw the village. I smiled at Tamara.

She nodded and punched me in the face so I fell to the ground unconscious where I was sure to be found. The last thing I saw was Tamara scaling up a tree like a monkey.

I ran out of the cave bowling someone over Tam and Iris right behind me. I kept running until I reached my tribe and breathing heavily bent over double. Tam came up to me and licked my face and I smiled. "Sweetheart I'm not mad at you." I said soothingly petting his head. I straightened up and walked over to the forest near a tent and sat on the edge of it Tam resting his head on my lap again and I stroked him absentmindedly. "How can 2 places be alike yet so different!" I shouted in frustration.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."

"But you have heard of me."

I grinned as Chahta, or Charlie, or whatever (though what kind of name was that?) caught the guitar and continued lazily strumming it. It was kind of nice to hear some music that differed from our tribe's typical heavy drum beats; I vaguely wondered where Aliri had learned to play the guitar when I'd never even seen one before.

"So," Charlie said after a while, "what exactly does this kidnappy thing involve? Just sitting around and playing music? Cause that sounds pretty awesome to me."

I frowned. "I'm not really sure.... I guess we just wait for your tribe to notice, then strike up some sort of arrangement. Meanwhile, playing music sounds like fun, right?"

Charlie laughed. Behind me, Aliri shook her head. "I think the Elders are deciding what to do... They seem pretty miffed."
Elizabeth: "There will come a moment when you will have a chance to show it. To do the right thing."
Jack: "I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by."

GHERA

After Aliri left I decided to go and visit grandfather. He lives by himself in a hut just outside the village, which is odd in our tribe, especially for an elder. We traditionally live in larger huts with our entire family, often extended. I was on my way grandfather's when I saw an odd lump about 20 meters away. What was it? It didn't look like an animal, but I could be wrong. I decided to investigate.

I made my way over to the lump, it definitely wasn't what I was expecting. It was a man, he looked like a tourist but he was wearing a long white coat and smelled like medicine. Whatever he was, he was too close to our village. There is no way he hasn't seen it. He needed to be dealt with, but what to do. I had an idea.

I ran back to the village as fast as I could, I went straight to the prisoner tent. I hoped Aliri was still there. She was, along with Koda and a guy who was obviously the prisoner. "So, anybody want a second prisoner?" I asked. They all gave me a funny look, even the captive. "Come on guys, I'm serious! There is a man passed out just outside the village. He is definitely not from any tribe, none near by anyways."

Koda got up and headed for the door, "Guide me, I will bring him back here."

I lead Koda to the spot where I found the man, it was starting to get dark so it was a little tough. Finally I found the spot, he was still there. I opened my mouth to say something but Koda was already hoisting the man over his shoulders. Wow, tank much?

"Hurry back to the village and go home, I will around the long way so no one sees me. Carrying a body might freak people out." said Koda.

"But he isn't dead, there is no reason to hide him." I argued.

"They won't know that, now leave, and go straight home." he ordered.

I decided it was no use arguing with him and it would be best if I went home anyways. I started to walk away but turned around and said, "Thankyou, I couldn't have done it myself." Did I actually just say that? Did I, Ghera, say thankyou? I guess so.

Koda nodded and pointed to the village.

"I know, I know." I sighed and ran home.

Taylor

He went back to the tribe, more calm, a little dispointed because he hunted nothing but intrigued by Ghera. Everything was calm at the tribe, thankfully, so he went to his house to prepare something to eat and take his guitar out of the attic, since it had been so long since he last played it.

It was while since he got home when someone knocked his door. Well, there went his time of peace and tranquility.

"Hey" Cheveyo said when Taylor opened the door," Have you seen Chatah?" He asked.

"Nope, he said he was going to get his guitar" Taylor replied, letting Cheveyo in.

"Yeah, but that was hours ago" cheveyo replied.

"So what, let him be" Taylor said, grabbing a bowl fill with something that he called food but looked most like, well, something not too tasty.

"I feel something's not right with him" He said, narrowing his eyes as if thinking.
"We should go look for him"

Taylor gasped, opening his mouth wide. "Man, what the hell? I just came in here. I'm not going back there dude, seriously" He said stubbornly.

I grinned. Koda was gone. The grin disapeared when I remembered he would be back. Charlie stared at me skeptically and I tried to ignore it. "Would you please stop that?!" I demanded.

"Stop what?" he asked inoccently.

I glared at him. "Staring at me! You're creeping me out!"

He snickered. "You're the one with the cloak over your face and the snake," he muttered.

I sighed. He had a point there; as if I'd admit it. Oh well, at least he wasn't calling me "Babes" anymore. How I resented that title. Next person to call me that would get slapped--or a nice gash across the face from my sword. Whichever.

I willed Koda to hurry back. Charlie gave me the creeps.
