P.O.V.
"This is terrible." I mumbled.
I stared at the group of teenagers in front of me.
"How are we going to survive?!" I said beginning to freak out.
"We have no adults here..." I said.
"Hello?! People. Newsflash we're stuck in the middle of nowhere with no one to help us, enough food to last only a week, and no cellphones!" I shouted at the faces that were staring blankly back at me.
"We are so d-e-a-d." I whispered.
"We are lost." I said.
Personality: Mira's a tomboy. She does not have problems with having either boy or girl as friends, and people seem to like her very down-to-earth personality. Her smile is infectious, and she laughs easily.
Mira raised her eyebrows. "I don't know about you, but I seem to be breathing okay..." she said distastefully. Mira glanced around. "Look, I know things look bad, but - come on, we made it this far, didn't we?"
The others were staring at her. Mira took a deep breath before continuing.
"Let's just think for a moment: Biology. Who remembers any edible plants?"
No answer.
"No one? Well, let's see then..." Mira glanced at the faces surrounding her. She sighed frustratedly. "Oh come on," she snapped, her patience waning. "Let's access the situation. And by all means, crying about it isn't going to do any good!" Mira realized in the middle of her sentance that she was gesturing violently. She let her hands fall to her side meekly.
"This is stupid. Girl scout lessons isn't going to "help" us." I said my temper boiling.
"We need to use actual survial skills. Not the ones where you learn how to pick berries." i said throwing a glance at mira.
She rolled her eyes.
Mira glared at the girl. "I fail to see where they won't help," she snapped back. "Think back! What are the three requirements for life? Food, water, and shelter! Those 'berry picking lessons', as you so elegantly put it, will fill one of those!"
The girl, Bella, Mira though her name was, began to spit bak a retort.
"I'm sorry," interrupted Mira. "Did you have any suggestions?! Besides moaning about how we are dead?"
I glared at her, but I knew she was right.
"Fine." I mumbled.
The girl looked suprsied and taken aback. She was probably expecting me to argue with her. That's what I tend to do, I am pretty stubborn. But I just wanted to go back to my family and friends.
I didn't want to be stuck here with these strangers that I barely knew. I just wanted to go home.
"You lead then." I mumbled.
"Lead?" Mira asked, confused. The girl looked dejectedly back at her. Mira's eyes widened. "I - I really didn't mean - Er - No. I'm not going to take full responisbility."
Mira looked the girl over. "I think this whole conversation needs to start over. Do you have any ideas that might help us?"
The girl narrowed her eyes at Mira suspiciously. "I though you just - "
"That's why I'm starting over," said Mira firmly. "Our tempers all must be running thin. That's reasonable, isn't it? So, let's all pitch in... "
Mira met the girl's eyes. "What should we do first?" she asked her. "This needs to be a team effort."
Mira paused, a funny feeling growing in her. She laughed. Everyone stared at her. "Well, that's what they sent us out here for, right? To learn to be a team?!"
"Hm, good point." I said.
"Guess they are really serious about this." I said grinning.
"Anyways I think we should find someplace for the night. Then gather into teams like one is for searching for food and the other for maybe help and the other for supplies we could use. " I said
Mira smiled. "Fine," she said. "Absolutly fine. If it means anything, I would have said the same..."
