I left my maths classroom and walked casually down to English where I had my next lesson. On the way, I passed many students, most with pets wrapped around their necks or padding along behind them. Schools that allowed animals were rare so most students didn't like to miss out on the liberty of having an animal with them.
I wasn't too bothered and the pet I wanted - a white rhinocerous - wasn't the most suitable for such a small building.
"Hey Keira!" I turned at the door to my English class to find out who was calling my name.
My eyes grew wide. Part of me was even more worried than before, while the other part felt bad for Tyler. I couldn't imagine killing the person I loved...just...no!
Bella, what happened? Remus was running toward us from a few miles down the path. Already, I could see him.
"Oh my God that's a wolf!" Tyler exclaimed, preparing to attack.
"Don't!" I shouted, jumping between he and Remus. "Remus is my bond!"
Remus, be careful. You know how vampires can be with wolves! I snapped inwardly, hoping he would stay a distance back. Instead, he came to sit by my side.
"Your bond? Oh crap I for-" but before Tyler could finish what he was saying a huge tiger sized, fox ran up from behind him and lunged at him, knocking to the ground with a thud.
"Holy crap! You're worried about my wolf, and you have a fox the size of a tiger?!" I exclaimed, staring.
"Well, foxes aren't exactly in the same class with dogs," he replied. Remus snarled at the insult.
"Calm down," I said, running my fingers through his thick fur. "Remus is perfectly harmless," I assured Tyler. "He's very protective, however."
I could smell Ethan just as strongly as you could. Is he all right?
Yes, he's fine. Just a few scratches on his shoulder. I left before it got too bad. I just hope he doesn't come to find me... As if on cue, Ethan opened the door to the school and walked out.
"Dax! Get off me you lug!" Tyler shouted as a kid walked out of the builing. Dax growled and stared at the newcomer.
'Human.' Dax told him.
'I know that! Now get off me!' Tyler yelled in his mind.
'No. This kid is bleeding.' Dax growled.
'Sheesh. He doesn't even smell appetizing enough to eat. Yuck.' Tyler still yelled as he wrinkled his nose at the stech. The kid smelled like flowers, no worse. Like roses.
I exited the school, preparing to find my brother and head home.
Uh-oh...better get your brother...and fast. Sai said, sifting anxiously on my shoulder. I looked up and spotted my brother, Bella, and another guy i hadn't seen before. Bella looked slightly desperate...
I cursed and ran over. "Come on, Ethan, lets go."
Bella glanced at me thankfully. Ethan reluctantly allowed himself to be led away.
Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.
