115

I grinned with amusement, going back to school to rip those stupid white coats apart? I'll have fun doing it, Zy was close at hand, I felt, different about her.

"Zy stays here, she'll only be in harms way. And I won't risk letting her get hurt." I said.

Everyone looked at me, again with the surprise, but my grin turned frighteningly evil. And my eyes showed the blood that would ensure if I were to descend unto School, it would only be a repeat of what I done when I broke out blood would fall heads would roll. And most of all, it would be a slaughter, it will be glorious. It was only a matter of time before those white coats got what was coming to them, and my revenge exacted.

"I do not like the look in 115's eyes." Lucian said.

"Yea, and I don't like those wings of you have!" I retorted.

"Stop it!" Zy yelled.

I just remember Zy was still right beside me, still covered in my wing and my arm was around her when I didn't even realize it was there. To late now everyone see's my arm around her, I grit my teeth and wait a few seconds. Zy hasn't rejected to staying behind but that Micah guy seems like mad for some reason, I saw how he clenched his fists as if thinking something, I wondered what exactly?

"I ask her to stay, I don't want her to get hurt." I said.

"I'm so glad you agree with me, 115." Exi acknowledged. It wasn't safe for Zy, whom she was growing a healthy dose of dislike for. It wouldn't be safe for them either if they had to keep worrying over her. "I really am sorry to keep disagreeing with you, Baxter. But perhaps someone with more of a...fighter's spirit would be a wiser choice?" Exi looked over at Micah, the strong acrid scent of the odious silver smoke burned and made her nose wrinkle in protest.

Baxter:

"Alright, we have decided now on Zy staying, so who is going to take her place? We need someone who can either fly or move fast enough to keep up with the people that are flying, as flying allows reaching speeds of 60 mph rather than average running speeds of 8 mph, understand the math? Good. So who are we voting to go with? My votes is for Micah."

I asked this and realized something important. Who was going to take charge of the people here? I decided that I would leave whoever is left behind decide on that problem, as we had more important work to be done and were running low on time. Every second we spent waiting to leave meant more preparation being done by whitecoats. I wonder what's going on at my old School, worrying about what the other experiments were suffering.

I stood there sadly as everyone just wanted to leave me behind. I wasn't useless but it really felt like it. I walked away from the group and sat under the tree with a sad expression covering myself in my wings. I just felt like I wanted to be alone.

Ari

Ari noticed the solemn-faced girl sit under the tree she perched in and retracted her claws. Her body fell and maneuvered in mid-air, causing her to land on her feet gingerly like usual. She sat down next to the girl and offered a smile. Although she wasn't good at conversation, she seemed like she needed someone. "You're a strong girl." Ari gazed at her and smiled. "Stronger than a lot of the people here, whether you believe it or not. You've got people who care a lot about you, however, and I myself don't think you want to have the blood of men on your hands." Ari thought bad to the first man she had killed at the school.

Zytrianna just sighed, not saying a word to Ari. "If it makes you feel any better, I'm one of the least special ones here. All I can do is run fast and fight. I don't have enough control over my element of fire to consider it a true power. I can heal, but so can three other people." Ari bit her lip and gently rubbed the horizontal scars across her ankles and knees.

"It's not about you being strong enough to fight with them, I'm sure. I think it's got more to do with how innocent you seem and the not knowing of how you'll react when the first white coat falls at your hands." She was running out of things to say and just smiled at Zy.

Zy POV:

I looked over at Ari and smiled back. It was nice of her to come over and talk to me.

"I've done more than people in this group know, I might be a pacifist and hate fighting but i know when i have to help my friends. I've always mostly just cared about eveyrone else being safe, and as long as they are I don't worry. Even though im innocent or shy I still know when i have to fight or do things. I was put through fighting tests back then and I did perfectly fine. It doesnt feel right to kill to me but ill be able to do it if i have to." I told her laying my head on my wings.

I enjoyed Ari's company when she came over, she was right I was to innocent.

I blinked in surprise as Baxter threw out my name, and every eye turned my way. Oh shit was all I could think as multiple thoughts came along with the glances. I deeply inhaled from my cigarette and leaned my head back to let the smoke shoot into the air before evaporating away. If it was either going to be me or Zy, I would have it be me, hands down. I wasn’t even sure of her ability to fight, but since most of us were trained to be soldiers, I didn’t doubt she probably had some experience in combat. But this wasn’t a situation where she had to fight, and if it was something I could do in her place, I would.

My eyes glanced at the cigarette that had almost burned down to the filter. I took one more puff, holding in the smoke for a few seconds before flicking the butt aside. “I’ll go,” I said, looking up to Baxter and meeting him square in the eye. “I don’t like it, or relish the idea, but if we are going to rescue others, then I am in. I am not going to take part in some wonton slaughter.” I glanced at 115 and he gave me a sick smile and almost a small shrug. Death… kill… I will kill those damn white coats… “Let’s just try to keep our priorities clear in all of this.”

“Agreed,” Baxter said with a nod, “We are going to free others, and if a few white coats get killed then it is just a bonus.”

115 let out a harsh laugh at that, and I knew more than a few white coats would die. As long as the rest of us got out then I would be fine. I glanced over at Exi and gave her a quick glance over. She had eyes that were slightly larger than normal, and raven black hair. Her bat like wings were connecting at her hip and wrist, the leathery flesh draped in-between. She was also young, very young. I did my best to give her what I hoped was a reassuring smile as I said, “If you need anything Exi, let me know. We need to be a team in this, so I will be sticking by your side.”

I would be sticking by her side as much for her sake, as for my peace of mind. The last thing we needed was a dead teenager, and with 115 in our group I had the feeling things would get nasty, and fast. I looked over at Zy and saw Ari was by her side, talking to her. Their thoughts drifted casually around, Zy’s stronger and passionate, and obviously she was upset by the whole thing.

It’s about you being innocent… I am running out of things to say… I could hear Ari thinking.

It’s nice of her to talk to me… I want to help my friends… I enjoy Ari’s company and all I want is to help my friends… Zy’s thoughts were clearer, and I could hear her pouring over the situation. Wrestling with her feelings and desires to want to help, but also realizing she was innocent and maybe a little naïve.

Oh Zy, please keep your innocence for as long as you can. It is a gift, and one that not many of us have. I glanced at 115, the crazed and hungry look in his eye. Baxter had a cool calm expression, ready, and more then willing to do what was necessary. Exi, though young, had a confidence about her, and I knew she would act when needed. I wondered for a moment if I looked the same? Just another cold, harsh killer, a being created for war, and who could take a life without a moment’s hesitation. Maybe we are the monsters was all I could think.

Her innocence was beautiful, and part of me wanted to walk over and tell her so. I wouldn’t, call it pride or whatever. But what I would do, and could do, was make sure she stayed here, and stayed safe. That the innocent and sweet spirit she possessed, even after being in captivity for so long, would remain. Please keep that sweetness Zy, was all I could think as the four of us turned to go. It is more valuable then you know, once you become a monster like us, you can never go back.

Baxter POV:

"Alright, it seems we are all in agreement to Micah replacing Zy. Micah, if you can create a strong air current once we all hit the air, we can easily top 80 mph and make it to California in 6 hours max. I know I said west, but it looks like southwest. My brain was a little foggy on direction earlier." I hoped that I wasn't asking too much, as it seemed that Micah was bothered by something. The last thing we needed or he needed was distractions. He seemed to give me the same look Angel had given me the first time I saw her. I decided to pull him aside a moment before we headed off to talk to him.

"Micah," I said quickly, as something just clicked into place. I quietly told and asked him what had come to mind. "Is there something I should know? I have seen those eyes before and I know what they mean. Is something bothering you? I won't judge, but it is important that I know your full strength's and weaknesses for us to make this a successful mission." Please trust me!, I thought loudly at him, hoping he would hear it and that I was right.

Quick note for everyone:Angel is one of the people in Max's "flock" as she calls it. Angel has the power to read minds. Baxter had seen Max's gang and thereby met Angel, who told him about her reading minds. Just thought it was an important detail to throw out there.

"Micah," Baxter called to me as the four of us turned to go.

I didn’t respond, but from the look on his face I knew he had questions, and was there even some concern there? Part of me wanted to just take off into the air, pretend like I didn’t hear him say my name, god I hated it when people got nosy. "Is there something I should know? I have seen those eyes before and I know what they mean. Is something bothering you? I won't judge, but it is important that I know your full strength's and weaknesses for us to make this a successful mission,” he asked. At least he was polite enough not to assume, anything.

Please trust me! the thought rang out so strong and clear I winced, and then froze. That wasn’t just some random thought, he had sent that out on purpose, directed it at me, hoping I would hear. And like some freaking idiot I had made it obvious I had heard, reacting to it like that. Trust me…

I hated that word, trust. It rang with hope, compassion, and I actually thought that maybe Baxter was being sincere in his thoughts. Trust isn't something easily given however, it has to be earned, gained, and once you have it, you guard it with your life. I have given trust to few people, so few, and I wasn’t about to hand over my secrets to some guy I barley knew. Please… this time it was pleading, and it felt… real. I almost felt guilty for wanting to hide anything, who was this guy? Did he really care.

The words echoed again in my head, and I looked Baxter in the eye, really looked him. Show me who you are I let the words fill his head, and his eyes widened in shock for a moment. Let me see you, I said again. Baxter hesitated for a moment, and warily looked at me, but I insisted, I’ve trusted you, now return that trust.

He slowly nodded, and I focused my mind, my feelings on him, and allowed them to come at me. Images flashed in my head… Baxter strapped to a table while a man slices off a finger… the boy screams in pain, body writhing as his digits slowly twitch and a new finger grows back… him being tossed off a cliff… surviving, healing… what else can we do to him… Poison… viruses… cut off an arm… a kind man, helping, caring… wanting to help others… trust me… a flock, others like us… small girl, maybe seven, blonde hair and beautiful white wings… she can read minds, her name is Angel… there’s another like you…

I tore away, heaving, and thankful I hadn’t eaten breakfast, otherwise I would have hurled it all over the ground. I still gagged, dry heaving on my knees as the images of him in my head slowly faded. So many emotions were racing through me it took a second to realize I was feeling angry; the white coats were evil, pure and simple. They had done similar things to me, torturing, conditioning, letting me feel pain. All my scars weren’t for show after all.

I slowly looked up at Baxter, and he looked green, sick. He had probably felt some of the things I was feeling. Going into someone’s head was never simple. 115 glanced over at us and smirked, What a freak… I ignored the thought as Exi came over and helped me to my feet. “Are you okay?” she asked.

“Fine,” I answered with a strained smile, before glancing at Baxter. He looked a little drained, but he was looking at me differently now, almost calculating. “So there’s another one like me?” I whispered, softly.

Baxter slowly nodded, “Yes, she’s young, but similar. You two should meet.”

“Maybe later,” I answered as I shook off the feelings that still reeled inside. “For now we should go, you know everything Baxter, don’t betray my trust.”

He nodded solemnly at me as his wings spread and h leapt off into the air. Exi and 115 followed him into the air, the back draft form their wings kicking up dirt and debris, causing my hair to flutter and fly as I watched them go. I cast one more glance back at the others, “Be safe,” I called.

Closing my eyes I called on the wind. It was a faint at first, a mere ripple of my clothes. Then my hair began to dance and move, almost like a living thing. My jacket ruffled and began to flutter as I slowly began to rise from the ground. I looked back at the others one more time before shooting off into the sky after the other three. I swiftly caught up to them, bringing a strong wind current with me. As I reached them the wind current lifted them higher, and pushed them forward even faster, shooting us off through the sky.

Here we come you damn white coats, may your god help you.

Just a little note for everyone:
We seem to have forgotten the initial setting I set up in the first post, so here is a small note. This note is also on the Discussion Thread.

Remember everyone, especially people left behind, we started the story in NEW YORK CITY, OUTSIDE A SUBWAY STATION, so you don't need to hunt for food, you can go to a store or a food vendor on the streets. There are trees in New York, but they are scarce.

Experiment 115

My strenght was growing, my senses tingled and heightened. Infinite darkness would set upon School, and blood shall spill, the flight towards School made me anxious to get there. The three others were yards behind me, I was moving faster than all three of them, and we were moving pretty fast. Then again, I was made to surpass all other experiments, soon tho, I could see School ahead.

"Time to die you white coats!" I roared.

The sun hadn't fully set yet, but my power over darkness was stronger than usual, I aimed down my targets, looking for anything that could get in the way, and then.

"Die!" I roar.

I curled into a ball and spun in mid air, then I extended my limbs into a star shape, large black spikes comming from seemingly out of no where, they pierced the roof from the ground up, the building layed waste already on the first assualt. But by no means was I done, I didn't wait for anyone else, forsaking my commrads in the sky, I dived straight into school, and right into blood shed.

Baxter's POV:

I saw 115 springing out into the school and knew there was trouble. I quickly sent out a thought towards Micah, Michah, I need you to get over there and send me the messages of the whitecoats in there. Whatever they are thinking might be important and I need to know now. I then spoke openly and said, "Exi, I need you down on the ground pronto. Use your echolocation to check both sides of the entryway for people. Fly back up and report to me. I don't want to sound bossy, but 115 is being reckless, a fear I had, and we need to act quick."

Exi flew in and quickly reported back. She had sensed no signs of anything along the corridors and I made a quick decision. I knew Micah would be able to send me updates as he and Exi proceeded through the corridors and I sent them off together to the right side hallway. I took the left to see what data I could find, as I knew the left side held the opening sequences for everything in the lab.

As I approached the lab, I noticed something that surprised me to the greatest extent. Not only did I see Jeb, the man who saved me and I thought died afterwards, but I also saw a more shocking object next to him.

Quick notes for whats going on:

My character is about to see a major twist, one of his clones, but I wanted to add some drama, so don't interfere with my characters plot for another message or so. Secondly, italisized words will be my standard for communication through minds to Micha from now on, while standard quotes are out loud. Lastly, since of 115's quick entry, I set up the plot for everyone to add twists and be SLIGHTLY seperated in plot for the moment. Feel free to add questions in the DT. Sorry for adding these blurbs to my posts recently, just needed to clarify things to the general public.

Micah

Typical. That one word basically summed up my thoughts, besides others like idiot, dumbass, and igit, but let’s be honest, when you make a killing machine, brains aren’t needed. I watched 115 dive down with a howl of rage as black spikes started to split apart the school. Alarms began to ring and sirens blared as alerts went off all over. Every damn white coat was now aware of our presence. “Well at least he makes a good distraction,” I muttered mildly as he vanished into the building below. I had no love for the guy, but above all I prayed he would be careful. After his escape the White Coats would have been stilling working on a way to bring him down. Nothing was invincible, no matter how strong they were, and I prayed he wouldn’t run into his Achilles heel in there… at least not until we had done our job and gotten out.

Micah, I need you to get over there and send me the messages of the white coats in there. Whatever they are thinking might be important and I need to know now. The thought came streaming my way, and I gave a grunt of acknowledgement as I released the wind that had been pushing us along and slowly alight down toward the ground, Exi close behind.

I knew she was doing her Echolocation thing. God I wish my ability was that easy to use. With a weary sighed I closed my eyes and allowed my senses to stretched out. I opened my mind bit by bit, allowing thoughts, feelings, everything to flood in.

Blood!

Help!

They’re here! I told them this would happen. We need to leave, evacuate, revaluate our strengths. If we drug up some of the experiments enough we should be able to move them to another facility and get them out… damn bird… people…

No! The darkness… I can’t see… is anyone here? Ahhhh….

Die!!!

Feed… birds… blood… where are they… must kill… must find…

Pain. Pain. Pain. So much blood… why…

Get the Erasers moving! We need to take out whatever is here! I want someone on the security cameras, tell us where they were going, how many, and we will coordinate an attack!

I winced, trying to let my breathing be shallow at the mass of thoughts and feelings. There were so many thoughts, to many for me to know the specific number of people in there. One thing was for sure, they had Erasers, I could hear the primal instincts of the beast kicking in and knew that even now some were transforming. “We’ve got to move fast,” I muttered, “We caught them by surprise, barley, but they are getting organized. Erasers are coming, and they are going to try and move some of the experiments if they can.”

Baxter nodded, “I am going to take the left hall,” he said, pointing to the hole in the wall where 115 had bashed through and the passages on the other side. “You and Exi take the right.”

I nodded as me and Exi slipped around the corner, me in front, and her a little ways behind. I carefully slid my sword and pistol out, holding one in each hand. I kept the gun pointed down the wall, my sword at the ready as we moved forward. Exi opened her mouth periodically, letting out calls and waiting for the response. “Still no one?” I asked.

“It’s odd, but no,” she said, looking somewhat nervous. I had the feeling to, something wasn’t right. I stretched out, trying to listen to thoughts, but so many were flying through the air I could barley hear or tell them apart. It was a barrage of pain, desire, impulse, responsibility, and too many more to describe. We stepped around a corner as the lights flickered above and a small concussive boom shook the building. I made to step around a corner when Exi’s hand shot out and grabbed me. “We found them,” she hissed.

It only took me a second to realize I could hear some thoughts more clearly, Feed… kill… bring down…. “Oh shit,” was all I managed to say as an Eraser came launching around the corner. The werewolf gave a howl of victory as it came forward, claws sweeping out. I inwardly cursed the tight corridors as I grabbed Exi and we both vanished in a puff of air. The Eraser’s claws slashed where we had been, and it paused, puzzled.

We materialized in a gust of wind further down the corridor, and the beast turned, noise sniffing as it caught wind of us. “What…” Exi whispered in surprise, blinking her eyes in shock.

“Sorry for that, it was a bit close for comfort,” was all I said as I turned toward the Eraser and quickly fired a couple of shots. The first one went wide, but the second caught the beast right in the eye, dropping it with a dull thud to the ground. “Not too hard,” I said with a grin at Exi.

“Oh don’t worry,” she replied with some sarcasm, “More are coming.”

“You ready for this?” I asked.

“You bet,” she said with a grin as a group of Erasers came charging around the corner toward us. I would keep an eye on Exi to the best of my ability. After all, the white coats had trained me to be an efficient killer, and I was anything if that.

I got up from where I was sitting and looked at everyone else. "Looks like we need to get the basic necessities, since no one else is here. Does anyone have a plan of where we are going or where we are getting shelter?" I asked and looked around at the rest of us.
