@Poopsie all eight slots for the SBs leads have already been filled, but if you had an idea for a character that wasn't an eclipse member, we'd be glad to have you! Any one of the team members for Aurora could be a possibility for a playable character as well.
question. What is the correlation between Eclipse and the other teams? Also, i've noticed you have two characters yourself, one of them filling the eighth slot. I assume both your characters are essential to the plot line, so I won't ask to fill the eighth in place.
P.S: idk if my character fits the guidelines as I don't have any prior knowledge of this sb and so am making a character from scratch.
Every team is competing with each other to try and rise to higher ranks. The higher your team's rank is, the easier it will be for them to get through the program (High ranking teams get better living quarters, more recent weapons, etc.) and the more they are noticed by the government. Higher ranking teams will also be allowed more important jobs when they graduate the academy and join the army.

@featherstone9068 Depends on what your idea for a character is. I'd like for there to be more than just rebels. Maybe a few neutralists/loyalists in the mix too just to add some variety. They also can't be a part of Fireteam Eclipse. I'd love to talk with you about it, so shoot me a PM whenever you're free to tell me your ideas!
I'll try to have my post up by tonight, tomorrow at the latest.

Let me know if I should change anything regarding the convo (@Jexy) or the common room/anything else (@Europa).
