I think I have an idea of how the other characters can agree to let Zel join their group. After they find him sleeping in their wagon Zel proposes that they let him join their little club. When they ask why they should let him he tells them about his great fighting skills, this isn't enough so Zel tells them that he may know where the man, Seraph, is hiding, or something like that, because his previous master had told him stories about this man named Seraph and how he has the tome everyone is looking for. Zel had also collected rumors from various cities that strengthens his belief on the bad guy's whereabouts. But, he refuses to tell them unless they agree to let him come along. If knowing where Seraph is, assuming he is the bad guy, is not enough, or too much, give me some ideas on better information he can use to bribe his way into the group.

Um, I'm not sure that's gonna fly, Dynamo. First of all, how did your master come to learn of Seraph's whereabouts? And Seraph is touched by gods--if he doesn't want anyone to know where he is, no one's going to know where he is.

Zel's master might know of Seraph--it's improbable, but possible.

Alright. So how's this? Zel bribes his way into the group with information that his master knows of a man named Seraph. Once he's in they ask him to take them to his master to find out what he knows. If this is OK we just have to think of what Zel's master is going to say to them.

It sounds like a feasible plan to me.

At the moment, I don't think it matters. All Zel has to do is convince the party that his master DOES know something.

Good point. Anyways, don't forget that he's sleeping in one of the characters' wagons, ready to wake up once they get back.

They don't have wagons--they've been regular at this town for a while. If anything...they have horses. WE"ll jut say th wagon he's sleeping in is in on of the stalls next to Valin's horse.

Hmm... If they're all riding horses then how are they going to accidentally bring Zel along with them I wonder? Maybe before they go they decide to take the wagon he's sleeping in with them for provisions?

I'll let you decide this--how likely is it that an ex assassin is going to "accidentally" take a full grown man in his wagon?

But seriously, maybe one of the other members of the group will decide to take the wagon. Even if they don't, all they have to do is look in the wagon and find Zel. That's when he'll try to join the group.
