I say repurpose him. Change the character a bit, use him for something else.

I like your Alex better because ever Alice in wonderland has an innocent young girl who travels to wonderland. Your Alice twists the whole story around.

I think they're both good, but an Alice is necessary. I think your Mad Hatter could easily be slightly changed to fit a different character.

Hey guys! I have an idea and would love to know what you think of it. Eran said that he had an idea of making Tweedle Dee-Dum the same person. Well I extended on that and thought I would make my character have an alter ego. I thought it would be interesting to see how this works out and I would love to hear your thoughts. I was thinking that they could constantly talk to each other, but she is really talking to herself.

Name: Teresa (Tweedle Dee)
Appearance: (This is the main body you will be seeing) She had rich brown, curly hair that cuts off at the shoulder. She has olive skin tone with a tint of rose in her cheeks. Teresa has gray eyes and a really large color ring. She is about 5'6. Her body is slender and tiny, but do not let that trick you. She is strong and and excellent fighter. She usually wears a tight fitting tank top and black jeans tight jeans. Over that she wears a leather jacket and black boots.
Rank: Solider
Weapon: A small dagger. It it is about seven inches long. She keeps it in her boot. It has a thick, silver blade and a silver handle.
Ability: She can move at unbelievable speeds, making it hard for a heart to catch her. This also makes her attacks quick and easy.
Alliance: Hearts
Up for Love?: No, she is too crazy.
Personality: She is very reliant on other people. It is hard for her to be alone. She is very emotional, anything can hurt her feeling. She does not take criticism very well at all. On top of all of that she has anger issues. When she gets mad, her fast turns red and she is quick to start a brawl. On a good day, she is a bucket full of sunshine, but that is quick to change.
History: Her twin brother Tristan was killed by a rebel solider and he has a great influence on her life. She was infuriated that he died and needed him to be in her life. She was slowly going insane. Without Tristan in her life, she could not do anything. She was emotionally unstable and could not think. She found a way to make him come back by making herself into him. That is why she has an alter ego.

Personality: He is very protective over his sister. He hates it when people pick on her or make her upset. Other that that, he is a very calm and kind person. He is so friendly and nice. He loves to make people happy and give them with is best. He is very selfless and would do what every it takes to keep his sister safe.
History: When he was alive, he was the man of the house. His father passed away when he was fifteen. He knew it was his job to protect the family and he did. He had a lover named Jessica and they were making plans for marriage, but the rebels got to him.

Hey, Taylor, can you change her alliance to Hearts, the ratio of Hearts-Rebels is way imbalanced. You could say that a Rebel fighter killed Tristan.

Well if it helps, if my character offers a trade to the queen for someone else to be able to join the rebels, I can say that it'll be my character and another character that he's close to (without them knowing). Then it would be more balanced.

That sounds like a good idea to me. Adds to the plot as well.
