Spoiler! :
I love this poem! It really shows how the heartbreak of the position Hera is in, unable to escape her husband, but almost entirely unloved. Wonderful job!

Letters Between Lover and Victim

Poseidon

*If you know the myth of Poseidon and Medusa, you know the dark themes that come along with it. Rating this 16+ only because of the dark themes.*

poseidon.jpg

To my darling,
Medusa.

My love,
where have you gone?

I miss your eyes,
the way they gleamed in my ocean.

My love,
I miss you.

I miss your sandy skin,
and your shallowed breath.

My love,
How are you?

I'm sorry you're not here,
and it's my own fault.

My love,
Have you forgiven me?

For all the sins I committed,
and the life that you lost.

My love,
Can you hear me?

Through the currents and tides,
I still hear your voice.

My love,
I'm sorry.

Sincerely,
The man you let get away,
Poseidon

To the man who killed me,
Poseidon.

I have gone far away.
Where you cannot hurt me anymore.

And I thank you for this,
because you have made me powerful,
unique among those who serve you.

You have made me remember,
who I am,
and who I will not become.

I do not miss you,
or the things you did.

I am well,
but could've been better,
if I hadn't met you.

And no,
I have not forgiven you,
or the scars that you left.

And yes I can hear you,
but I wish I didn't.

I hear you in my sleep,
you're everywhere,
and it's terrifying.

You can be sorry,
but that doesn't heal the wounds you left,
etched into my now scaly and withered heart.

Sincerely,
the girl you didn't let get away,
Medusa.

Wilting Flowers

Hades

wilting.jpg

how could i love when you make me out to be this way?
i am still alive, still breathing
and sometimes i wonder if i can just stop because
it's too much.

and i sit here in the moonlit corridor,
contemplating how i could possibly leave.
a diety who is trapped beyond your world
yet i didn't have a choice

though, i find simplicity in the darkness,
how it curls and wraps around my soul,
engulfing me in fires and shadows,
like the river made of liquid silver,
remnants of the tears i once shed.

but she heals everything,
her words and her grace bring me back up,
into the world that i once loved,
and back into the person i once was.

my flower
so lovely and divine
how my heart grows roots
and my fingertips blossom with passion
whenever i lay eyes on her.

yet still
i wonder if people know
that even gods still crave
the light and the love of the world above.

Song of the Hunt

Artemis

artemis.jpg

Through dense forests she moves,
her eyes sharp, peircing the veil of night,
and with her body the leaves rustle,
a wind so strong it fills the air with her scent.

With every step, she commands respect,
for her gaze lies in the force of nature,
her spirit unwoken, unshaken,
a testament to her undying will.

Her spirit is a song of unyeilding force,
guiding the stars in their celestial ballet,
harmonious blends of instinct and kill,
a melody of strength, forever sung.

picking a favorite part to the poem because why not this was just so powerfully written here it stood out so nicely, you did a wonderful job portraying who the main inspiration was to this poem with every line.
*looks up from writing* hi if you're reading this I hope you have a lovely day!

Apollo's Ballad

Apollo

apollo.jpg

In the days of myth, where gods and goddesses roam,
Apollo, king of the sun and arts, found home.
His shimmering lyre played melodies so divine,
Yet troubles shadowed his celestial shine.

Loves gentle touch, he felt for Daphne's grace,
But fate transformed her into a leafy embrace.
In Delphi's realm, a serpent threat arose,
Apollo battled and triumphed over woes.

Yet with mortal pride, a contest did ignite,
Against a man, Apollo faced his might.
So skilled, yet he learned a new kind of race,
A god of light, with shadows in his space.

Through Apollo's trials, we can see the light,
That even gods go through struggles in their fight.
But in his music, and in arts pure flame,
Apollo's legacy forever claims its fame.

With all due respect Leya...I don't know if I can believe this is your first ballad, because it's amazing!! Love the rhymes you chose, they really make everything pop. Love this line especially:

Yet with mortal pride, a contest did ignite,
Against a man, Apollo faced his might.

Feels...powerful, and bright. Perfect for the god of light, lol! Nicely done!! ^^

xD I’ve only ever written free verse and a few haiku’s, maybe a few rhyming poems. This style was super hard and I don’t think I’d ever do it again xD but I’m glad it’s better than I thought! Thank you <3 @RavenAkuma

Lady Wine

Dionysus

dionysus.jpg

Oh, how I adore the ruby elixir that flows like a river,
A symphony of flavors that dance and twirl on my tongue.
Sometimes she tastes like grapes, sometimes not,
yet I love her regardless.

Each sip from her is like a tale of sun kissed vines,
I find comfort in her notes of oak and fruit.
In the depths of the cellar is where she sleeps,
Hidden away for nobody to find but I.

To her timeless beauty, her intoxicating grace,
I raise my glass, my heart ever so pure.

Sapphire Oceans

Aphrodite

aphrodite.jpg

born of foam and whispered sighs,
she weaves threads of desire and longing.
her essence fills the air in a fragrant spell,
in whispers of jasmine and rose.

her laughter, a melody that stirs the soul,
a dance of stars in velvet skies.
eternal and ethereal, like love's sweet ache,
the very air groans in admiration.

her form, a symphony of curves and grace,
a canvas brushed with hues of passion.
weaving dreams with delicate hands,
a timeless ode to beauty's design.

yet, in her beauty lies the tempest,
a storm of longing and unspoken words.
her voice, a gentle breeze of stirring hearts,
eyes like sapphire oceans, depths unfathomed.
