22| my perfect window view
Ghazal -- I tried

There was only so much I could see from my perfect window view
All the little things in the world could be seen from my perfect window view

The little things and the beautiful cracked pieces came together
As I was gazing from my perfect window view

It was all so strange, yet I found the secret towel which showed me
All the dirt from my perfect window view

As I was looking at the dirty spots, they made me think of you
As I watched you walk by I watched you from my perfect window view

Sponging and Wiping is how I got rid of them
Yet one stayed, totally not ruining my perfect window view

As the first drops fell on the glass, I wanted to stay even more knowing you would be very slow
I could observe you even better from my perfect window view.

You carefully tiptoed through the puddles, still dirty spots came on your clothes
I giggled mischievously as I knew I was safe behind my perfect window view

Still I betrayed myself, “My beautiful darling won’t you stop for a second?”
I sang while you looked up at my perfect window view.

Noticing my plea, you decided to speed up and leave
I waved at you sadly from my perfect window view

The jacket you wear each rainy day gave me your name
I wrote it with my finger on my perfect window view

Wondering what I ever did wrong to you, I turned old
Thinking and sitting in front of my perfect window view

Holding your funny name close to my heart: “Time”
I finally left my perfect window view

23| what i did with a stolen rice paper crown

as i sat by the wooden table
carelessly eating my dinner
with a wide grin on my face

i watched as you turned
the entire kitchen upside down
you complained about how
you couldn’t find your little crown

a second after acknowledging my presence
you turned around and asked me
what i was eating
i explained the entire recipe to you

i told you about the little greens,
The tasty meats, and the secret sauce
i used and how i folded my mixture
neatly
in a stolen rice paper crown
which i found sitting innocently
on the kitchen counter

oops!

24| if words aren’t wording…

What happens
if the words are not wording?
if the rain is not raining?
if the song is not singing?
if life is not living?

Then you have to
Make the Words the word
Make the Rain the rain
Sing the song
And live life

Actions and have to be taken
They can’t do it themselves

If you don’t (for yourself)
No one will (for you)

26| Dreamescape

There’s a place
Which no one knows of
It’s my special place

I can think and dream what i want
Without anyone stopping or forbidding me

I feel as free as a bird
I can sing my own song,
In a place where no one’ll hear me

But it’ll be safe
Stored in a little box
on a cassette
And Labelled

So i can always find it back

No one can judge me here
Here, I’m the judge.
I’m the pupil and i’m the master

I can do the impossible here
With no one to stop me

I can be myself here
And feel joy once more

Like the taste of an ice cream
As delicate and sweet
So are my memories

And I call it
My dreamescape

~ Princess February

27| Counting Moments

One two
I see right through

Three four
Bonjour senor

Five six
Cake mix!

Seven eight
I took the bait

Nine ten
Cook the hen

Eleven twelve
More books on the shelf

Thirteen fourteen
Not eating my greens

Fifteen sixteen
Strong caffeine

Seventeen eighteen
Not here Jolene!

Nineteen twenty
Stuck without a penny

Twenty-one twenty-two
The birds are friendly too

Twenty-tree twenty-four
Dropped the mic on the floor

Twenty-five twenty-six
Why doesn’t life just click?

Twenty-seven twenty-eight
I’m afraid I’ll wait

Twenty-nine thirty
Deep blue sea

Thirty-one thirty-two
Rody got the flu

Thirty-three thirty-four
Why settle the score?

Thirty-five thirty-six
Bones don’t get broken by bricks

Thirty-seven thirty-eight
My son learned to skate

Thirty-nine Forty
Goats aren’t worthy

Forty-one forty-two
Getting sick out of the blue

Forty-three forty-four
Let your voice roar!

Forty-five forty-six
Lovers don’t get mixed

Forty-seven forty-eight
Boss is late

Forty-nine fifty
Life luckily isn’t infinity

28| Bubbles

take soap
and take a bucket of water
mix them together

and then make bubbles!

some of them reach the sky
until you can't see them anymore,
but you know they're there

and others don't even reach eye height.

memories are like bubbles
they float around for some time
and then pop.

then there's another bubble
and another one

just like that
memories keep growing

you have bad ones
some that pop earlier
than others

and you have great ones!
some that reach heaven

this is a wake up call
to have fun in life
because soon
the bubbles will run out

29| sadness is the key to discovery

As precious diamonds
You caught my tears
One by one

Treasuring them,
like little souvenirs,
Without paying attention
To what you were doing to me

i craved your embrace,
you turned your back
And broke my trust

i felt so alone
longing for someone
to help me out of this
Darkness

After a while
i decided that it was time,
So i stood up
By myself

I wiped away my tears
Mourning what we could’ve been
But if you’d stayed
I don’t know if i would have
managed all of this

standing by myself
and walking

Who would’ve thought that
Sadness was the key to greatness

30| The Last Page of Her Diary

Fancy words are not my style
Nor are shiny things

I’m a cheap set
Which you can find on the beach
Or even in Starbucks
if you look closely

Books are my escape
With stories as rich as
the syrop on my whipping cream

Humming 2016 melodies
Is my jam
According to some
It’s considered old and boring
I find it rather relaxing and ;) my style

Poetry runs in my blood
I guess i’ll follow in the footsteps
And see where this all leads me

Princess February,
saying goodbye from
the last page of her diary

Spoiler! :
Ahh! Goodbye, Princess February <33 I really love how you implement emojis into your poetry, and you continue the theme of being unapologetically yourself, even if no one else likes it. Great job with NaPo, Amaya! It was a blast to read your threads.

Spoiler! :
All of these poems are soooo good, Amaya! It's been a while since I commented (which I regret), so I have a lot I wanted to highlight...

- In "Bubbles," equating memories to bubbles is so creative! That was awesome, and I loved the analogy! The same goes for that complex, intricate concept of time in "My Perfect Window View."

- "Dreamscape" is such a relatable concept put into more elegant words, describing a place separate from reality where you gain your own power, if only for a little while.

- The confidence reflected in "Be A Lion" was incredible, and that was an awesome drawing!

- The emotion tied into "Sadness Is The Key To Discovery" made for a great read, and was inspiring in a way I'd probably fail to explain, heh.

- And finally, "The Last Page Of Her Diary" was the perfect final touch to this thread full of incredible art! And I must say, if poetry has led you here, I believe you have a bright path ahead of you ~

Nicely done! :D
~ "I am a writer. Therefore, I am not sane." ~

- Edgar Allan Poe
