“No, no no no! It’s okay! I’m used to it, y’know?”

Emile nodded at that comment.

“And I get it… a lot of my kind are mean too. But… maybe that’s the case for every species. I mean, some of the other species on my planet have hierarchies that I’ve seen… I guess it’s just a rite of passage. I mean, I’m sure there’s lots of species on your planet that don’t always get along with each other, but that doesn’t stop you humans from loving them…”

"Do people on your planet make fun of homeless people or adopt animals just to sacrifice them to satan?"

“…wh-what’s a Satan..? But… I know what you mean about making fun of people. I’m not homeless, but… the people in my village made fun of me a lot. I was always the odd one out. That’s why I live alone, instead of with my people. It got lonely, but… at least I didn’t have to deal with jerks like them.”

"Satan's the bad guy of a major religion on earth. But we're not gonna talk about religion right now. Anyways, I live alone too. Well- I guess I'm not really ALONE, I live with my dog. But I don't live with any people"

“A dog…”

Emile went over and flipped through his journal.

“Of course… based on the research I’ve done, that’s another species on your planet! Apparently you humans keep them as pets… my kind have pets, too! Hey, I even brought mine on board, one second…”

He grabbed a small box-shaped object, opening a door on the side of it. An animal carefully trotted out, one similar to a cat.

“This is Mus! She’s named after a plant on our planet.”

(SHE RETURNS)

"How did I never see her-?? I lived in your house for like- 3 days"

{ALL HAIL MUS}

“I dunno! She likes to stay by herself. She also wanders off a lot. But she always comes back! She’s a sweetheart.”

Emile smiled, petting Mus.

"Is she a cat? She kinda looks like a cat, but I don't think you guys have cats-"

Emile tilted his head.

“A cat..? No, no no no- she’s a Bierim! A species back on Vux.”

"Oh, that's cool. Still looks like a cat though"

“Yeah, I suppose you might think that! I’ll have to see a real cat when I get to your home planet… Earth, right?”

Emile yawned.

"Mhm. And you can also meet my dog'

“Yeah! I’m excited to meet it…”

Emile rubbed his eyes, smiling. You could notice the bags under them.

"Hey- you look like you haven't slept in a while. Are you.. like, good?"

“I haven’t… but it’s fine! Just… just need to get some food or something…”
