Scalding tears in swollen eyes
Midnight is near and not one can hear
The beating of the darkest heart.

Demon in the mirror
Behind the glass
Reaching forth with cursed screams
“Always here, watching you.”

Crooked nails gouge the eyes that cry for death.
“Always here,” it says, mouth crookedly open.
Look away from those hungry eyes.
Lies! And stories of unholy demise
“Killed your mother. Killed your father…”
Neck snaps with bone cracks.

Demon in the mirror
If you come any nearer,
Doors will creak open with ravens
Pounding on a roof
Quavered with passion of death and suicide
Embellished for the desire for another
As if sent by Lucifer,
Waiting on someone to join him.

“Always here.”
Rasps, taps, knocks, screams.
Nails, blood, hair, eyes.

Dark of night & weak moonlight.
Heavy are the eyes of deceit.
Licking wounds with a dirty tongue
scraped along rotted teeth of Israel.
Lord deliver us from this evil.

It is in the creaking of a door, creaking of a floor, finger to a trigger, curse in a curse word.
It is in the leaking of a faucet, keeping your attention and making you crazy.
It is in hate; in the demonic voice in your head saying you can kill a person.
The second being you see in the mirror sometimes that isn’t quite you; the more evil you. The one that frightens you through harmless facial expressions…

Stitched lips and sliced veins.
Satan lives tonight.
Clasp your beads tight.

Call him nearer,
face the fear.
Hello demon in the mirror.

This simply one of the most darkest poems I have ever read! I have to say that you have definitely captured a haunting element that kept me on the edge of my seat. You didn't overload with description, but you also didn't lack in that field. It was perfect. That's how horror is written.

I can't wait to read more of your poems! :D By this poem, I can tell that you are a very experienced poet. It takes a special talent to do this.

Continue and keep up the wonderful, magnificent work!

Wow this is scary! But I felt as if I could feel what the person felt as if I was the person with a "Finger to a trigger" .
This might possibly be In the top 5 things i have ever read bumping out "HOUSE OF NIGHT 1"
Know that she's back in the atmosphere I'm afraid that she'll think of me as a plain old Jain told a story 'bout a man who was to afraid to fly so he never did land. ~Train

Thank you! you're so sweet. I find it difficult to scare people in my writing. This is the first horror related thing I ever wrote where I wanted it to be scary. and i hope you like my other stuff as well

Very good. is it intended to be for Halloween? :D You have a very accurate concept of how horror should be written. Somehow, it took me back to those nights that I shriveled reading those magnificent lines of Alan Poe.

Wow, that's scary. And deep. I think you did a good job, next time I look in the mirror I'm going to be thinking of this poem.

This is just awesome. Call me a geek, but I couldn't help thinking of "Supernatural." (Which is a good thing, by the way!) I like how it was gritty yet graceful, scary yet meaningful. Well done!
You must be swift as the coursing river,
With all the force of a great typhoon,
With all the strength of a raging fire,
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon.
