Actually ye, Scotland is really creepy in some places. On a coastline, like the Wickaman <- I think that's how you spell it, but it is way freaky!

Look at small things like the meaning of words. From many languages, it's origins, etc. That can help you out.
Look up the Greek or Latin words for your description and perhaps you can find something.
