I recently saw a tweet on twitter by Goodreads and got deeply inspired to post this new topic, because I find the answers so interesting.

I have no specific examples but often times Charles Dickens sentences leave me this way. On many an occasion I have found myself rereading sentences in his novels, not because I didn't understand but because the sentence was so beautiful that once just wasn't going to be enough.
Shakespeare has that effect on me, when I read his work It's a constant discovery. I decided once to take a highlighter and highlight the things I thought were amazing or quotable and to my shock I ended up highlighting most of the book! Perhaps prose just speaks to me...
What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though. — J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
