Well, it would appear that everybody has told you about the rules, but there are several other wonders about YWS! You can check out the Groups button in the header, where you'll find groups and classes on how to write better. One of the is Character Development, something I'm sure you'd be interested in.
Also! Check out the Knowledge Base for other writing tips. Hmm. Well, it seems you've already hit that aria with articles quiet well.
