Okay, well...-waves- I'm Danielle/Danny/nerd/geek/AWritersFantasy/whatever you wanna call me. I'm twenty-one and go to a community college in Connecticut. Blah, blah, blah, right?
Well, I guess I wanna talk about my writing experience and stuff, since this place is for writing. ^_^
There was once a time where I wrote Star Wars fan fiction. But, before I even consistantly used the Internet, I didn't know what fan fiction was. I just wrote these stories, using a character I created (who was my own version of the little girl, Dani, in Hocus Pocus and was Luke Skywalker's cousin). I even wrote scripts. I got a program for my ooooold computer (an Apple Mac) called Storybook Weaver Deluxe where you could write up to 100 pages per file of a story. I have one story on that computer that's over 400 pages (four separate files) long, but is filled with overused cliche's and Mary Sue/Stu characters. It's the longest thing I've ever written, and I haven't been able to write anything as long as that ever since I was working on that.
My sophomore year of high school was when I got in to writing original fantasy. I remember this because it's when I started doing a fantasy role play with a now ex-online friend of mine, and from that point on I would write fantasy stories and Star Wars fan fics. But over the last few years I've stopped writing fan fics and have been writing completely original fantasy instead.
For almost two years straight I was working on on an attempt at what would've been the first book in a trilogy, but I gave up this past October or so. I might go back to it eventually.
I don't have any current projects, really. Well...that's not ENTIRELY true. One of my friends on LJ joined http://community.livejournal.com/100originalfics/profile and I'm hoping that the prompts it provides will help with my creativity enough so that I can finally have another attempt at a novel/trilogy/series/whatever. I have small ideas but nothing major.
