Glad to join ya

Hello. It'd like to be in a transcended state of euphoria, hence the name, just to get that out the way. It would be wonderful, to have a heightened sense of pleasure about everything, to be far away from problems and conflict. Not just for me, but for everybody, and we could all be peaceful and happy. Not going to happen I know, but I can dream can't I?

I'm the type of person that avoids conflict, I'll just say "ok" and leave it at that. I didn't used to be that way, but in my 20 years I've realized its just not worth it. The tension, arguments, pain, I don't want any of it. So if it makes people feel better about themselves to win, I'll let them. I'm happy when everyone seems pleased.

I feel most comfortable writing fantasy, scifi, romance, and horror. I write because I like to create people and their stories, but its never just that. There is always, always a strong moral emphasis in all of my works. I want people to enjoy an engaging story on the surface, but be emotionally impacted from it. They will witness sacrifices and acts of selflessness and must be stirred within to reflect these attributes in reality. That will always be the main purpose of my works.

@ Ellie. I’ve thought Ellie was a cool name ever since I watched Disney’s “Up”. I liked that movie. I love to read. My favorite author’s are Francine Pascal, Eion Colfer, and Naoko Takeuchi.

@Freak. The name Freak, that reminds me of another book I liked, Freak the Mighty. Recently moved to my number one favorite artist is Lee Aaron. I love her song Barely Holdin On. I’m primarily into ambient music atm. First I’ve ever heard of Owl City or Tokyo Police Club. I think music and writing are similar. They both can be used to invoke specific emotions in the audience that just aren’t otherwise possible through other media.

Haha, it's funny you mentioned that, because we're watching up in French class right now. Whenever Carl looks to Ellie for advice, I blurt out to the class what I think he should do. Anyway! I've never heard of any of those writers. What kind of books did they write?

Pascal authored the Fearless series, Colfer Artemis Fowl, and Takeuchi Sailor Moon. If I'm not reading fantasy or fiction than you'll probably catch me reading someone like Dale Carnegie or some form of reference/research material. Speaking of which, just bought this awesome book from Sam's (of all places) yesterday. Its "Universe: The Definitive Visual Guide" and is by far the most complete reference guide to everything from its alleged beginning to its predicted end. Books like those are really useful when I'm trying to put background in my works.

Anyway, I'm not opposed to reading new authors so if you have any suggestions cue me in

I'm totally a conflict avoider too. I used to not be that way too but after my sophomore year of high school when two of my friends got in petty fights about nothing every day because they decided about of the blue that they hated each other, and then made people take sides, I stopped caring.
Now when my friends fight I just take all sides.

So what's your favorite kind of fruit? If you were a piece of furniture, what kind would you be and why? If you were a marine biologist, what animal would you study and why? If you could have any super power, what would you choose and why?

Eoin Colfer? I do love the Fowl series. I think I've read all of them ... And his Supernaturalists book. Is it even called that? I have the book somewhere, but it's probably buried deep down in mess.

Well, just one suggestion: listen to Owl City, PLEASE!

@Carlito My favorite fruit would have to be strawberries. I would be a recliner: supportive and easygoing. I would study orca whales because Free Willy was one of my favorite childhood movies, though I have a dreadful fear of the ocean. I'm studying to be a psychiatrist so having the power to read minds would be very beneficial.

@Aqua Marine I like it here. I find it motivational when I read about all these people who are nearing the end of their various projects; I get inspired to finish my own.

@Freak Owl City, I'm on it. Also I was on the bust today and I was re-reading another favorite book of mind which I didn't mention before. "Wicked" the story about the life of the wicked witch from the Oz series...its truly amazing. Once I got her perspective, what she was trying to do and how she had been ostracized I felt genuinely sympathetic towards her. The sequel, Son of a Witch, focuses on a young man who is strongly implied to be her son; also a must read.

I want to be a psychologist! That's almost the same thing.
I totally agree with the reading minds thing. I would love to be able to read peoples minds.
