What are the points for??

What are the points for?? i new so can some tell me

The points can earn you featured member or they can be paid to the CCF for critiques or they can give you bragging rights

The points used to be so that you could post in some forums (eg: the lounge) and to encourage you to post in other forums. Certain forums cost points to post in, so you'd have to be active in the rest of the site to be able to continue posting there. I think they also figure in to the "member of the week" decision, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Currently, the pay-to-post policy is on an indefinite hiatus. I'm not sure what Nate plans to do with it after that.

Also, I'm not sure where this belongs, but probably not in the welcome forum. In the future, if you have questions like this about how the site works, it might be best to PM someone with a bold, colored name. That's what we're here for.

Also, in case you missed it, we have Sudoku on here. However, you need points if you want a hint or if you want to change one of the numbers. You can also get points from the game, too. I haven't played it in a while, but you can take a look at it if you want.

Well... everyone else above me has already said it, I think... do remember that all points are always reset to 500 every week.
