I have been converted!

I just joined this community because a friend convinced me that everyone here is courteous and friendly! Nonetheless, trying to construct a brand new portfolio/profile is a little daunting...

I have a fully functional deviantArt account that I've been keeping up with for... oh... 6 years, but I'd like to be a part of this community too... any pointers? Any real major differences between here and there? Should I submit everything I've ever written or just everything from here on, or just my best?
Any suggestions are truly appreciated!

I think the difference would be: DA mostly consists of artists with literary thrown in and YWS is the other way round.

Anyway, do you write or are you more of an artist?

Definitely a writer. If I pick up a pencil for anything but writing, people who know me run away to escape the horrible images. I do dabble a bit in photography, though.

It is true we are writers more than artists, but of course we welcome artists, art is the one thing that redeems man and differs us from animals.

We're much more of a community here than dA is; also, a lot less wank and a lot less of a popularity contest. YWS is good stuff.
