Hello and welcome to YWS, newcomers! If you've stumbled across this thread, you should definitely make a post to introduce yourself! Or you can make an individual thread, it doesn't matter to us. :) YWS is a writers' site, and if you just so happen to be a writer, then this is the place for you! We currently have over twenty eight thousand members (28306 to be exact), so as you can see, we have a very popular site that grows and grows everyday! My name is Iggy and I'm a moderator of the site! Any person in this color , this color , and this color is a moderator of the site, so please don't hesitate to PM them if you need help. Users in this color and this color are people who used to serve on the mod squad but have retired. You can find the official list here . Now, let's get some guidelines and rules out of the way: :arrow: We like proper English. That is, we don't substitute "da" for "the," we don't say "im" for "I'm," we don't say "u" for "you," and we expect you to capitalize each word of every sentence in your regular posts. Typos can happen, but don't start talking like you're texting. We're crazy like that. :arrow: To earn points, you must review. And to submit works, you must have points. It's the circle of YWS! If you're having trouble writing a good review, read http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=57651. Make sure you mark your review as a review, or else you won't get points! :arrow: We want you to rate your story or poem. That way, it can show up on the front page and everybody can see it. ^_^ If you have an f-word in your story or it's particularly explicit, rate it 18+. It won't show up on the front page, but people will know what they're getting into. Titles should have no curse words or all caps in it, so please refrain from DOING THIS and use asterisk (*) to censor your curse words appropriately. You can find the official rules here . Since I am brand new to this website, I decided to introduce myself before I lost the nerve. So, here I am in all my bland glory. Hi

I just signed up today

I have been a member on wattpad for 2 years now and I cant seem to get any reads. Im shy about promoting my stories because i feel like it's rude especially if you are reading comments on a author's chapter and all you can see are self promotions or people asking for the author to promote the story they want promoted. I dont promote myself and that might be a problem of mine but i have a feeling that if i self promote i'll sound selfish. The reads i do get are messed up because wattpad doesnt count them right i could get a lot of reads or no reads but it shows a number randomly. I have deleted 6 stories in all from that site because i wasnt getting any feed back or votes or no one was reading them. I stumbled on this site here because I am looking for a new place to write on because wattpad just isnt cutting it anymore.

Im 16 going on 17 in 2 months and I love to write. I hope that this site is better than the others I have tried before.

I want a Harry Potter reboot with Benedict Cumberbatch as all the characters~~Mem

*gasp* Welcome to the site @samanthas0107! Don't worry about your works not getting proper feedback on this site. There's a system up that insures that every work will at least get feedback from two people apiece, usually more though.

Make sure you ask me if you have any questions or need a review! ~~you're a Finding Nemo lover, right?~~

I havent had much time to be online thanks to my Sports medicine teacher giving us 2 projects back to back but i finally have time to sit down and write so im hoping that i'll be able to post again today or Friday by the latest
