Hello and welcome to YWS, newcomers! If you've stumbled across this thread, you should definitely make a post to introduce yourself! Or you can make an individual thread, it doesn't matter to us. :) YWS is a writers' site, and if you just so happen to be a writer, then this is the place for you! We currently have over twenty eight thousand members (28306 to be exact), so as you can see, we have a very popular site that grows and grows everyday! My name is Iggy and I'm a moderator of the site! Any person in this color , this color , and this color is a moderator of the site, so please don't hesitate to PM them if you need help. Users in this color and this color are people who used to serve on the mod squad but have retired. You can find the official list here . Now, let's get some guidelines and rules out of the way: :arrow: We like proper English. That is, we don't substitute "da" for "the," we don't say "im" for "I'm," we don't say "u" for "you," and we expect you to capitalize each word of every sentence in your regular posts. Typos can happen, but don't start talking like you're texting. We're crazy like that. :arrow: To earn points, you must review. And to submit works, you must have points. It's the circle of YWS! If you're having trouble writing a good review, read http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=57651. Make sure you mark your review as a review, or else you won't get points! :arrow: We want you to rate your story or poem. That way, it can show up on the front page and everybody can see it. ^_^ If you have an f-word in your story or it's particularly explicit, rate it 18+. It won't show up on the front page, but people will know what they're getting into. Titles should have no curse words or all caps in it, so please refrain from DOING THIS and use asterisk (*) to censor your curse words appropriately. You can find the official rules here . Hi I'm Hayley Ellison, I'm a 15 year old girl who has a passion for writing and planning on becoming a novelist. My favorite shows are Studio C (sketch comedy on BYU TV) and Doctor Who. I have to admit watching the new doctor who episode made me feel like Capadi is my favorite but I still have feelings for Matt Smith of being the doctor. I plan on going to BYU Idaho and majoring in writing. My favorite color is teal, I adore that color. I am a self thought musician for keyboard. My favorite songs are Don't you know by Michel McLean, I don't dance by Lee Brice, Shatter Me by Lindsey Stirling featuring Lizzy Hale, and finally All of Me by John Legend. I'm in Honors English, so yeah, and finally I'm a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

I just came from Wattpad.com so I'm slightly confused but I'm sure I'll figure everything out in no time

So far I've learned that you need points to post works and you get points by reviewing other peoples stories? Is that right?

Welcome @runandhide! You've got it exactly correct. You need 250 points to post a work, and you will receive a certain amount of points depending on how long your review is.

Hi there! I'm a 15 year old girl who is thrilled about being on this site! Ever since I was little I loved writing! I hope to expand in the growth of my writing! My favorite author is Wayne Thomas Batson! Everyone should read him! And my favorite TV show is...well...obviously by my username....Sherlock!

I love sports, but I'm not very good at them! I do more of dance (but I'm too tall to ever do dance professionally)! I can't wait to meet new friends!
