ATTENTION NEW JOINERS: This contest is now closed, unless you believe you are capable of finishing a short story by the end of January (or relatively near that date). If you wish to join but cannot complete the requirements within that timeline, please PM me, and I will try to create a new contest with a new deadline. Thank you!
~GC

Griff here! This is my first contest, but I think it sounds like a fun idea.

How it works: I will give you a picture to write a short story on through this forum. It can be of anything, so let your imagination run wild! If you have a certain theme you prefer, like fantasy, or don't like the picture I gave you, you are allowed to request a different one. Your short story can have any theme you like (realistic, humor, fantasy, etc.).
Rules: This should be written like any other short story, with good grammar, spelling, and minimal errors overall. Try to be creative and make your story mean something! Also, try to avoid mature content. This is a light, fun contest. When you are done, post the story in your portfolio and PM me the link. I will wait and see the everyone's work, judge, and then post here the winners. And most of all, have fun!
How to enter: Just post below whether you are interested, and your preferences, if any.
Submission deadline: This is a very loose deadline, as I don't want to rush anyone. I am thinking along the lines of the end of January, so take your time!
Prizes!
First Place: You will receive three reviews from me, for any piece of your choice, as well as 300 points.
Second Place: You will receive two reviews of your choice, as well as 200 points.
Third Place: You will receive one review of your choice, as well as 100 points.
Everyone else will receive 50 points for participating.

I am looking forward to a lot of awesome stories!

P.S. It would also be amazing if you put the picture at the bottom of your story, so that readers can see what the story is based on. But that is up to you. :)

I would love to do this! I would prefer a slightly more realistic picture set in the past or present, not future, if it has a specific time period. If it doesn't, that's cool too. Thanks!!!! :D

I would love to enter, alas my memory blows. Could I have a picture with a horror theme, but not too cliche if possible. Preferably something that has nothing immediately scary about it, but could be interpreted as such. I understand how specific this request is, and will be happy with your best efforts darling! :)

I may forget about this and you have my wholehearted permission to bug the everlasting life out of me as the deadline approaches!

I would love too! I would prefer some light-hearted fantasy, something magical (maybe fairies, magic, kingdoms, dragons, royalty, knights, treasure, something along those lines!).

Lemme know how you feel about that one. You could make it really creepy or funny, but if you want a more serious one, let me know. I'll try to remind you. :)

@GriffinClaw That's a lovely fantasy picture prompt, but I don't think I could do anything with it. Maybe give it to one of the other contestants?

@yubbies21 As long as it fits in the short story category, it is up to you how long it is. ^-^

@OliveDreams I'm so glad you like it!

And @HighTop I understand. I will find you a new one this afternoon. :)
